“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

"The One" in a terminal dive?
POSTED BY BILL
Things are not looking good for Obama. Still 14 months to go. Real Clear Politics averages all the "major" polls to get a smoother, more reliable look. Gallop is worse than this - minus 17 points. Ouch!

When it comes down to it though, won't all voters who voted D in 2008, vote D again? Ideologically, I don't see these people vascillating to the enemy. I can't picture a person who was bamboozled by the media into voting for Obama, turning around and voting for somebody like Perry. I just can't wrap my head around that. Obama's beatable but it won't be as easy as it appears to be right now.
Lot's of people are not fixed in any ideology and don't really pay much attention to politics. Look at the huge difference between recent elections. The big change from 2008 to 2010 wasn't ALL Democrats staying home - many independents who had voted for Obama voted Republican. Things are certainly not better for Obama and the Dems now and are unlikely to be so next November. Voters don't reward abject failure.
