This was the view from in front of my house this morning...
We haven't had accumulation like this in Birmingham since SnowStorm'92 or whatever the year. Of course there's been a run on milk and bread by dummies who don't realize it'll all melt by noon. Anyway, it's pretty while it lasts. When I was taking pictures at 7:00 this morning, I could already hear the sounds of snowball fights around the neighborhood.
I know what you're thinking. "How does somebody as cynical as Ed get excited about a little snow?"
You don't understand, we get 2"-5" of accumulation maybe once every 10-20 years. It'll be mostly gone in a few hours and another generation will grow up before we see it again.

Ed, you forget, those 10-20 years will keep getting longer and longer unless we illegalize cars and farting.
We had loads of the white stuff in Lancashire in January. It lasted a few weeks and was several inches deep. This is the first winter in several years where we've had such a fall.
There's nothing nicer than seeing big fat snow flakes drifting down especially if you don't have to get to work!
