“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Doing nothing isn't the same as doing something

You can't write comedy like this....

SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) - Montgomery County police say 16 people were arrested after a fight broke out during a concert held to promote nonviolence and to remember a Silver Spring teen killed last year.

Really, do these non-violence observances and demonstrations and vigils for whatever cause, do anything? No, it just makes the participants feel like they're doing something to address the problem without actually doing anything to address the problem. Whether it's drugs, gangs, drop-out rates, teen pregnancy, whatever...nobody ever does anything useful. They just stand around holding stupid candles and weeping, then the next day it's back to the same thing.

Anti-drug candlelight vigils are a great place to stand around and get stoned with your friends. Afterwards, you can return to your dorm rooms, get stoned again and lament the fact that the dearly departed just couldn't handle drug use the way you can.
