“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

When the lights go down in the city
California to Arizona: We don't like your racist immigration law so we're going to boycott you.
Arizona to California: Suit yourself idiots, let's see how you like it when we turn the power off to 1/4th of your state.
Checkmate goes to Arizona! Here's the letter the Az. utilities commissioner fired off to the hypocrites in California.....
If an economic boycott is truly what you desire, I will be happy to encourage Arizona utilities to renegotiate your power agreements so Los Angeles no longer receives any power from Arizona-based generation.
I am confident that Arizona’s utilities would be happy to take those electrons off your hands. If, however, you find that the City Council lacks the strength of its convictions to turn off the lights in Los Angeles and boycott Arizona power, please reconsider the wisdom of attempting to harm Arizona’s economy.
PWNED!!!
The Colorado River Aqueduct which originates in Arizona just north of the Parker Dam, meets almost 60% of SoCal's water demand. Arizona could turn off the spigot too if dumb, hypocritical politicians in SoCal want to play hardball.
I'm guessing Californians will prefer air conditioning, light, and drinking water above taking a stupid stand against a sensible Az. law that is on their books too. Arizona holds all the cards here. They have the electricity, the water, and the tourists. The only thing Californians can really do to punish Arizona is stop buying turquoise jewelry and bolo ties from the native Americans....and let's face it, the world could use a few less bolo ties anyway.

Right you are! Regular reader David wins the virtual cookie.
I am a pretty good repository of 60/70/80s music. In fact, trivia accumuluates on me like lint but I cannot remember the name of the person I just met.
Too much JP-4 i suppose:)
Every once in a while I'll catch a whiff of diesel somewhere that reminds me of the flightline....I sort of miss that smell.
While running around the end of the runway this week I caught a whiff - there was an F-22 and F-16 taxiing - my head was flooded with memories.
There was nothing better to me than working EOR duty. You got to feel and hear the take-off power of the engines, in AB if you were lucky and the pilot was being cocky, and smell the uniqueness of JP-4 combustion.
