Based on the wildly profitable but disappointing success of the last hot-coffee lawsuit brought by Stella Liebeck, I'm surprised it's taken this long for the next one....
MT. STERLING, Ky. -- A Fort Knox man has filed a lawsuit after he said he spilled hot coffee at a truck stop and burned his leg.
Thomas Skaggs said he bought the coffee last December at the Pilot Travel Center in Mount Sterling, about a half-hour east of Lexington.
He is demanding the company pay him for pain and suffering, permanent scarring and troubles relating to third-degree burns.
I'm going out on a personal limb here but, I wonder how long before "unemployability due to chronic pain conditions" enters into the list of damages for which Mr. Skaggs' scum lawyer claims the truck-stop owes him money?
In America, it doesn't matter how stupid or clumsy you are, when you hurt yourself, your lawyer and 12 gullible jurors will extort from whomever was close by at the time, the fabulous cash and prizes to which you're entitled.....for a tidy 30% fee that is.
Hat tip to Moonbattery.

What I can't figure out is how the coffee was still hot after all that time. Maybe there is something to this frivolous lawsuit crap!!
This man has to be an incompetent fool. If you drive while holding something that his hot, expect bad things to happen. I can't believe the courts actually grant these dumb asses monetary compensation for their stupidity.
