Military decision makers at the Pentagon are suggesting that when we finally pull our 67,000 combat troops out of Afghanistan in 2014, that we leave 10,000 to "continue counter-terrorism operations".
How does leaving 10,000 Americans in Afghanistan to run around being targets, count as "pulling out"? If we're leaving Afghanistan to its own devices, then leave....completely.
We currently have around 325,000 troops uselessly stationed in permanent bases in 135 countries around the world....most of them unwelcome I would imagine. Other than a jobs program for the Pentagon, what's the point?
