Russia tries and fails to be relevant again on the world stage
As you know, the US and Israel are preparing for a military adventure in Iran, ostensibly for Israel to destroy their nuclear capability, but for the US it's more about regime change than anything. Russia, always willing to stick its finger in our eye had this comment....
From The Times of India -- MOSCOW: Russia on Wednesday warned that a military strike on Iran would be a "catastrophe" with the severest consequences which risked inflaming existing tensions between Sunni and Shiite Muslims.
"Catastrophe"? Yeah, it would be catastrophic for Iran, since the Israeli military(pictured above) doesn't mess around. The rest of the world would probably shrug and go back to watching the Kardashians and eating Cheetos off their shirts.
Unless Russia shows that it plans to defend Iran against the "imperialist aggressors" who cares what they think? For the record, I'm opposed to yet another US military adventure in Iran. Israel can handle its own business if it looks like Iran is going to cause trouble. I'm just saying that the opinion of the Russians is irrelevant. We should ignore them.
