Now you all know that I'm not one to poke fun of the recently deceased......well come to think of it, sure I am, especially when the kill themselves in impossibly stupid ways....CHICAGO — Chicago police are investigating the death of a 33-year-old woman who was apparently crushed by her garage door on the city's South Side.
The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the remains as Yneekah Garcia of Chicago.
Police were called to the scene at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday and found the door on Garcia's neck.
Family members say the garage door on Garcia's home had been broken and believe Garcia had parked her vehicle inside the garage before trying to lower it manually.
Crushing your own neck with a garage door is as idiotic as getting hit by a train. Trains and garage doors are on tracks...it's not like they sneak up on you and crush you. I can see lowering the door on your foot maybe, but how does it hit your neck. Was she lying on the floor? I don't get it.

She was trying to close a 2 car garage door that had a broken spring and was propped open. She was also terribly asthmatic. It was very heavy (they estimate maybe 200 lbs.), and regardless of how it happened - she left 4 children, one of who's father passed away tragically a while back. Maybe it's an odd way to meet your end, but it happens and everyone seems to be focusing on the how and why instead of that it was a very tragic accident and that she was first and foremost a MOTHER. This was someone I knew, who was a kindhearted and giving individual, who would do anything for anyone, who worked in the ER and used her career to help people. Why not bring that up? No, to you, she's just some idiot who died trying to shut the garage door she couldn't afford to have repaired. Why don't you look at the big picture before writing nasty things about someone you don't even know.
I hate it that she died leaving a family. That's not what I was making light of. People manage to bring harm to themselves in all manner of unexplainable ways, that's my point. Also, the article didn't mention that I remember, she was a nurse with children.
My concern is that she has 2 children that are old enough to Google your comments. I'm sure she wasn't being stupid as being stubborn & fiercely independent. From what her family says, she most likely didn't want to inconvenience anyone by asking for help. She was an EMT, and dedicated herself to saving lives. It's a shame that when she needed her life saved, no one was there.
Whoever wrote this is a idoit themselves. That women was the mother of my son and was great at what she did. How dare someone jump online to crack jokes on such a tragic accident. If ur mom died the same way would u be cracking jokes? She was my lover and my best friend watch yourself.
