“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

We Get Screwed Again

Posted by Reid

TODAY IT IS GM THAT OUR GOVERNMENT IS RAMMING IN OUR BACKSIDES!! What is Next?

Maybe you don't understand, or care, but we are sitting around and watching the new Obama led executive branch spiral us down the economic toilet, with a boat load of help from SanFran Nan and her legislative cronies. First we allow for billions of dollars of bailout money to be sent to GM, etc. Unfortunately, this cash donation doesn't stop any bleeding. Allowed to continue to operate at a maximum of inefficiency we now watch as this greedy corporation pillages us. We sit by and take the changes they demand. Here is whats up....................

GM will discontinue associations with many of its dealers. This is done under the guise of saving the company, but it is done in reality to again over burden the consumer with the problems of mismanagement, etc. I live in a medium size southern city. It stands to reason that the metro area and its outlying region can and has supported about 12 GM dealers of various types. We will now be down to 2-3. Direct costs to the consumer will rise. Profits will increase and "zero" money will be paid back to the already overburdened taxpayer. Now I am fine with a free market turn and businesses declining out etc., but I am not fine with a liberally led and selected grouping of remnants- as we now have. It appears to me that the dealerships that are the most representative of republicanism are the targeted goners. One dealer has been in business since the 1800's. They are out as we speak. Owned by a conservative family for all its time, they are being victimized.

I didn't want Obama to run the country, and I sure don't want him screwing up all our businesses and lives. We need to resist now. No more bailouts. No more aid to endure ourselves to the "big money" stupidity that seems rampant at the government level. Stop the madness now! The merry-go-round must stop and when it does we all must get off and go play elsewhere.

Next is partial nationalization of one or all the energy companies, one or all insurance companies if they resist socialized health-care, and indirectly every company that receives any kind of tax break from the government, in the form of pay restrictions. There is no industry in America, the control of which this administration will not attempt to seize, using the glycerine-tongued delivery of The One. GM will fail because Obama, not the consumers, is dictating what cars get built. It will fail in 3-5 years and taxpayers will hand over another 50billion or so to keep it afloat. And Obama will blame short-sighted Americans for not buying the ridiculous "green" cars he told us to.

"Next" is whatever their little imaginations dream up - they want it all, to control every aspect of our lives.

It's particularly irritating in that they can do basically anything they want, regardless of what the constituency says. With the first bailout last fall and the stimulus package a couple of months ago, public opinion was strongly against either - but they did what they wanted, most all of our "representatives" working against us regardless of the letter following their name. IMO, that is WORSE than taxation without representation because we sent them there to do a job, told them what we wanted, and they ignored us, almost to a man.

The horror is compounded in the fact that, as (I believe) Harry Reid has bragged, if they want it, they really only "need" 51 votes (as they're discussing now about the health "care" issue). So they are imposing their will (I think that's called tyranny, isn't it?) on every man, woman, and child AGAINST THE WISHES OF THE MAJORITY OF THE CONSTITUENCY.

And really, now, there is no legitimate way to stop ANY of them, with congressional districts blatantly gerrymandered to keep crooks, thieves, and despots in office in perpetuity (Barney Frank comes readily to mind - go take a peek at the shape of HIS district) and the fact that - regardless of the "democracy" they sing praises to in this country - there really is no such thing.... One man, one vote, MY ASS. Each member of the House has somewhere in the vicinity of 700,000 people to represent (the original intent of the Constitution being about 30,000 people per rep), so: HOW IS THAT ANYWHERE NEAR ONE MAN, ONE VOTE; HOW IS IT PROTECTING INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS WHEN THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE CAN BE DISREGARDED WITHOUT RECOURSE; AND HOW ARE WE PROTECTED FROM TYRANNICAL RULE?

The only way to protect ourselves is to vote them out of office everytime they disappoint us. The problem with that is they've created a near-majority, dependent class of Americans who'll vote for whomever promises them the fattest goody-bag of other peoples' money. When nearly 46% of Americans pay not one cent in federal taxes, there is no reasoning with them on grounds of reason and logic. They want what others have earned and they'll vote for whomever gives it to them. I fear Obama and Emanual will have created, by the time they're through, a permanent democrat majority and the tipping point of America's doom will have passed. It's sad really.

Sadly, I think we've already passed that point.

Tragedy was perfected by Shakespeare, but will be lived out by each one of us one grueling step at a time, as we stride farther down the stairs of econmoic decline. The demise of the country is very close if the smart folks don't rise up and shout out " I'm not gonna take it any more".. and mean it!! Moreover we must be willing to do something about it win lose or draw. I'm all in with a big bluff. Lets hope zI win...
