“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

Blogs of note

As most of you know, I'm a big fan of cycling, both as a spectator and a participant. A friend of mine, PelotonJim, has started two new blogs dedicated to cycling that you should check out. The first one, TRIA Orthopaedic is a training guide for cyclists on which various professionals give training and health advice. It's geared toward cyclists but a lot of the information is applicable to any sporting activity. Just like any blog, you can read the posts in minutes, and ask or answer questions in the comments thread. It's a good resource for any amateur engaging in athletic activity for health or competitive reasons.

The other blog is Pro Cycling Minnesota. This blog has a half dozen or so contributors who talk about their cycling activities, charity partnerships with Nature Valley and Children's Hospitals, and other things of interest. No word yet on whether you can detect that quirky accent in their typing.

If you're a cycling enthusiast or just interested in reading about something other than politics, global warming, or dumb celebrities for a few minutes, check out Jim's sites. He's also got his own personal blog called Endless Cycle, which I have had linked on my sidebar for a long time. You cannot get better analysis of the Floyd Landis saga, doping coverage, the excitement about the US's two new cycling teams, and of course yearly Tour de France discussion out the ying-yang.

So if you're bored with your crap job, and you've read everything I have to say here, head on over to one of these sites and distract yourself for a little while....you might learn something.
