WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 — Senator Barack Obama will propose on Tuesday setting a goal of eliminating all nuclear weapons in the world, saying the United States should greatly reduce its stockpiles to lower the threat of nuclear terrorism, aides say.
In a speech at DePaul University in Chicago, Mr. Obama will add his voice to a plan endorsed earlier this year by a bipartisan group of former government officials from the cold war era who say the United States must begin building a global consensus to reverse a reliance on nuclear weapons that have become “increasingly hazardous and decreasingly effective.”
Getting rid of our nukes when Iran, the Norks, Pakistan, and Russia all have them would be like Jeff Gordon getting rid of his car on the eve of Talladega. Tell me one deterent to a terrorist-sponsoring State using a nuke against the US or one of or allies, if we do not have any of our own with which to threaten certain destruction? Obama is long on grand pandering and gravely short on details. Heaven help us if he gets anywhere near 1600 Penn.
Obama wants terrorists and terrorist States to be able to use these against us and for us not to be able to retaliate. Is it just me, or is he living up to his name?

I'm holding my breath in anticipation of an unenforceable and ill-conceived ban on nuclear weapons not unlike a firearm ban. But you know what: Nukes don't kill people; people kill people.
Nukes are here to stay. If Obama really wanted to do something nuclear why doesn't he figure out a way to build nuclear powerplants in the United States.

Where did Barack come from anyway? He has been in the senate for like a day, he doesn't every vote, and he has a terrible stance on like every issue. And he is Muslim. Is this really who we want running NASA?
Note: I am exaggerating most of those parts up there, but he is new to the senate, did skip the vote on the MoveOn.org issue, and I think he is Muslim, I dont know I am just stereotyping his name.
He did spend some (if not all) his formative years in a Muslim school. I cannot ignore this. He doesn't have much experience in government but for me this is not necessarily a detractor. His lack of ideas as how to unite America, rallying on what we have in common (language, culture, and borders) is a non starter for me.
