“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Hillary Care v2.0

Hillary Clinton unveiled her scheme to bring the entire population of the U.S. under direct government control yesterday. The short and sweet is that every American (for Hillary this includes illegals) will be required to purchase government provided health care. The tax-payer funded price tag for Hillary's socialism odyssey is about $110billion. Guess from whose pockets that will come? That's right. Your pockets. Hillary will use the force of the federal government to seize wealth from those who earn it and use it to pay for insurance policies for those who can't afford one.

"But Ed", you whine, "Like Canada, Great Britain, and Cuba, our health care will be much cheaper and everybody will have access...especially the children....we can't forget about the children can we Ed?"

Silly, ignorant, government-school educated reader. First of all, no where in the Constitution does it provide for the government to force private citizens to purchase anything...no where. This Hillary-Care is un-Constitutional from the git-go.
Second, when you artificially reduce the price of something, then demand for that thing goes up proportionally. You will have people running for the nearest doctor for the smallest of ailments because it's very cheap or for many hand-out, government cheese Americans, free. What happens when demand goes up but supply and price stay the same? That's right. Shortages! Just like in Canada, Great Britain, and Cuba. Long lines for basic care. Months long waiting lists for basic diagnostics procedures that you can get in hours or days now.

Lastly, here's the other cost that Hillary doesn't want you to know about: the quality of care will rapidly diminish under government-run health care. In order to provide cheap care for everybody, the government will limit costs by dictating doctor's wages. It's what they do in Canada and Great Britain. Well guess what? The best and brightest minds choose architecture, or engineering, or business instead of medicine because they can make better livings at those things.

Which would you rather have: a brilliant cardio-thoracic surgeon who competed for and negotiated a $2million a year salary because he's worth it, saving your life, or some guy who settled for being a doctor because he wasn't smart enough to do something that earned him a better living? If your answer to that question is "some guy" then you are a moron and Hillary-Care is for you.

When are you people going to get it? When government controls the market, everybody loses, except the people running the government. It is unfathomable to me that this woman might be our next president!!!

How can people seriously see this being a good thing? I swear people on capital hill don't foresee any consequences to anything they pass there. All they think is that they are helping the poor. Sure they are but why would they care about the poor? Oh right because the poor are the ones who put them in power. I think we should bring back literacy tests for the poor, and make a fee to vote, then lets see who gets put into office.

It's the law of concentrated benefits and diffuse costs, kevin. The politicians can take all the credit and reap huge, short-term, political benefits from "helping the children", while the costs are spread out over the entire economy and difficult to discern by the typical government-school educated, drug-addled, celebrity worshipping democrat voter.

By the time the voters realize it's a disaster, the politicians who put it in place will long since be retired. Besides, what do they care? They don't have to participate in the system they burdoned us with. They have their own congressional retirement program and health-care program.

What're the latest flights to Australia going for?
