In January, any working American saw their paychecks take a 2% hit when the social security tax holiday wasn't renewed. Today the Obama-defined sequestration cuts take effect and you'd think the sky was falling. Why is it that American families can adjust to less money, but the federal government cannot. And that's not even the real story....
Because of practically criminal "baseline budgeting", an accounting trick the federal government uses to make sure the size of government never, ever shrinks, The sequestration cuts amount to only slowing the increase from last year. No budgets are actually getting cut.
All the histrionics and drama in Washington amount to Obama trying to make the cuts as painful as possible so he can blame it on republicans, and the republicans running around trying to find enough cameras to yell into as they point the finger of blame at Obama, when republicans are just as bad about spending too much money as any democrat ever was.
They're all just useless parasites, sucking at the public teat and setting themselves up for bright and rosy futures at our expense. Besides there's so much fraud, waste, and abuse associate with taxes and spending that if you cut all that out, line by line, you'd have so much money left over we could all enjoy a fat tax cut in perpetuity.
