If this isn't a wake-up call for education reform in the US, I don't know what is....
From CNBC -- Eric Spiegel, chief executive in the US for Siemens [SI 131.77 0.54 (+0.41%) ], the German engineering group, said the problem exposed weaknesses in education and training in the US. Siemens had been forced to use more than 30 recruiters and hire staff from other companies to find the workers it needed for its expansion plans, even amid an unemployment rate of 9.1 percent.
With high school emphasis on self-esteem, sex education, and self-entitlement and stupid college majors such as women's studies, black studies, and philosophy, it's no wonder the unemployment rate is 9.1% and there aren't enough skilled Americans to fill the jobs that are available.
With education and skills priorities this far out of whack, is anybody surprised the US is circling the toilet bowl of demise?
