“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

Typical, mindless Obama voters

If you want to see something both pitiful and absurd at the same time, watch this interview of a dozen or so strident Obama voters as they are asked simple questions about how informed they are as voters.....

See, all you need is a slick presentation, a lot of money, and a legion of absolutely, stupid beyond belief idiots to come out and vote for you, and you too can be President. If our media hadn't completely abdicated it's watchdog responsiblity, and instead reported the truth like it's supposed to, this election surely would have come out differently. But then again, in America there are millions of retarded degenerates, graduates of public schools, who haven't had a cogent thought their entire lives, and for whom a Soviet-style nanny-State that provides for their every need is a utopian ideal. And with Obama, they just might get it.

Do you think it would be possible to make republican voters look as stupid?

Of course.

And that's what's really frightening - that so many voters know so little.

I saw a great , and sad, bumper sticker the other day in Atlanta:

"One Nation Undereducated"

I love it! I'm considering getting shirts made.

Certainly there are stupid voters in both parties, however, the cultish mania exhibited by the left that swept The One into power is generally not seen on the right.

You(and by "you", of course I mean you, capt. america) might suggest that Palinmania was the analagous phenomenon of the right but, you would be mistaken. Republican voters generally think before they vote, where many liberals, like the ones in this video, vote based on emotions, personality, and packaging.

I do concede your point though, that far too many voters know next to nothing about what or whom they're casting their vote.

This is probably the dumbest thing I've heard you say, Ed.

capt., so you're telling me Obama voters have thought through the implications of their vote, rather than allowing themselves to be swept away by the irrelevant minutae of Obama such as personality, packaging, and of course race?

Name a republican who was ever elected based on these characteristics. Bush doesn't have any of these qualities, yet he got elected twice. Why? Because conservatives bought his ideas about conservative principles. That he abdicated almost every one of them is beside the point. We thought before we voted.

I would say the vast majority of voters do not think before they vote. Most vote on how their parents voted. And vitually all could do a better job at ferreting out the real issues and the candidates position.

Like Rush says, conservatism requires effort and thinking where liberalism requires no effort, thought, or analysis. Liberalism is essentially passive.

Liberals can be divided into two groups: one is the voting group who believe the campaign drivel about government taking care of them, they are not to blame for their lot in life, rich people are evil, and they deserve what others have earned. Those ideas require no thought. They are basic human emotions that describe the lowest character flaws of the passive human.

The second group is the elitist liberals that manipulate the dumbed-down public with speeches in which class-envy, fear, and entitlement rhetoric are the basis. These liberals want to control everybody and make the world in their own image. For them, the ideals of individual freedoms and responsibility are anathema. It requires no thought or effort to be fearful or envious of those who have more than you. It DOES require thought and effort to overcome those natural human reflexes and embrace a society in which the individual is free to succeed or fail, without government intrusion or help. The tenets of conservatism, when practiced in their purest form, answer the fundamental desire of the human spirit, which is to be self-determined.

Obama voters care nothing about self determination. They care about being taking care of by somebody else.

Sorry capt., but if you think for one minute that average Obama voters, not the elite ruling class, gave 5 seconds of thought to their vote, other than what is he going to give me that others earned or he's black so he gets my vote, then you are the dumb one.

I thought a lot of republicans just didn't vote for Obama because he's a democrat, because he's a liberal, because he's black, because he's not a gun worshipper, because his name sounds wrong, because he may be a muslim in disguise after all, because he's educated (and therefore must be an elitist) etc. etc. etc.

But of course you're right, Ed - republicans don't vote like that. They *think*.

capt., you lumped racism in with the list of perfectly valid reasons not to vote for Obama. Democrat, liberal, anti-second amendment, elitist are all valid, thoughtful reasons not to vote for somebody. I would also throw in the possibility that he might be too sympathetic to radical Islam because of his background and associations, in a time when we are fighting radical Islam, as a valid reason not to vote for him. But don't throw the "racism" accusation around as if voters who are conservative, republican, and pro-gun are just as likely to be racist.

It's the democrat party who's guilty of racism if anybody is. It is liberals' soft bigotry of low expectations that hamstrings the black community from succeeding, and that's exactly how the democrats like it. As long as democrats can keep the black community dependent and feeling inferior and victimized by white society, then they remain a reliable voting block at election time.

There may be a few Americans who didn't vote for Obama because he's black but, that number is dwarfed by the number of dummies who voted for him precisely and only because he's black.

Why don't you tell us what policy thoughts democrats had when they pulled the lever for Obama?

This speaks for itself.
