“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Schools thrive without union thuggery

Over at the WashingtonExaminer, Byron York has an article that shows what an immediate and drastic improvement Wisconsin schools have seen since the collective bargaining law was signed into law by republican Gov. Scott Walker...

The Kaukauna School District, in the Fox River Valley of Wisconsin near Appleton, has about 4,200 students and about 400 employees. It has struggled in recent times and this year faced a deficit of $400,000. But after the law went into effect, at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, school officials put in place new policies they estimate will turn that $400,000 deficit into a $1.5 million surplus. And it's all because of the very provisions that union leaders predicted would be disastrous.

See, you take collective bargaining out of the labor market and have public sector workers contribute to retirement and benefits like everybody else, and suddenly you are flush with cash. Let's hope this stands as an example of what should be done around the country where union goons control everything and entitled government bureaucrats' wallets get fat thanks to the taxpayers.
