“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

Bill Whittle hits another one out of the park

Over at ConservativeGrapevine, John has a link to an article by Bill Whittle at Eject Eject Eject, in which he addresses the productive, achieving class in America, in light of what's happening to them at the hands of our government. It is brilliant in it's simplicity and directness. Click on the link and give it a read. Here's an exerpt.....

To the rich...

Leave. Just go away. Retire to the Cayman Islands or Bermuda or wherever, but do it now, please, while you still have some love for this country. Close your companies, fire your employees, shutter your factories and offices, sell your property, and take all of that somewhere else… better yet: somewhere scenic but poverty-stricken. Somewhere that could use some wealth creation. Somewhere that people simply are grateful to have a job in the first place. Somewhere where you will be appreciated.

You are not welcome in America any more. Take your wealth and prosperity and inventiveness and hard work and vision and insight and bold risk-taking and joy in seeing growth and wealth creation and just go away – right now, before it’s too late. Because if you stay, Joel Berg and Barack Obama and Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank and Chris Dodd will continue to come after you for more and more and more and they will not ever stop – not ever – until you are forced to flee. And when that day comes, you will go with not with fond remembrances and a desire to return home, but rather a black heart and hard and bitter memories.

So on behalf of those few of us who still believe in the Land of Opportunity, I beg you and implore you, in the name of our common patriot ancestors who worked so hard and sacrificed so much so that we could become so spoiled and ungrateful: take your 60% of the total income taxes and just go away.

If Obama and the democrats continue to punish and demonize the people from whom they rob 60% of the taxes that democrats use to buy votes from the deadbeat class, what reason will the wealthy have to continue to produce and achieve? The short and terrifying answer is that they won't have any reasons. Then where will the liberals be when there are no rich to plunder, when the achievers close their factories and retire to Caribbean tax havens, or simply decide to stop earning altogether to avoid the insidious, progressive taxes? They'll come after the rest of us who are not rich but, who make marginally comfortable livings, that's what they'll do.

This past weekend I heard a young mother bragging about her increase in food stamps as if it were a hard earned pay raise. She's expecting her fourth child and her husband was fired from his job. They deserve the fabulous cash and prizes (as you call it) though! They're good hard working people. As a matter of fact, he's currently working "ünder the table" ..... effectively cheating the system.

She went on to say how much she likes Obama while I practiced some slow, deep breathing.

I'm not wealthy, but I already wonder why we try. We have a very nice section of government housing in town and I think about how wonderful it would be to not have to worry about a new roof or furnace repairs, etc. They get food stamps so worrying about the grocery budget/feeding the kids would be a thing of the past. They drive nice cars, and their kids have the latest toys and clothes - all without working. I could even get free money for college.

It's to the point where you either have to stop paying attention to what's going on, or learn to live with the resentment of watching deadbeats game the system and reap better rewards than those for which your family strives honestly. It's really ashame what has become of a huge part of this country.
