“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

RIP James Garner

The Rockford Files was my favorite TV drama program, pretty much of all time. I don't think I ever missed an episode in high school. And what TV detective drove a cooler car the Jim Rockford? One of my favorite parts of the show were the messages his nutty friends would leave on the machine that started every show.

I might have to get the discography and rewatch it.

The Rockford Files was one of my favorites, too. After "Rockford", "Angel" (Stuart Margolin) was one of my favorite characters.

I loved the episodes with Angel. He was charmingly shady and dishonest.

My other favorite episodes were when his lawyer, Beth Davenport, was on. I had a huge crush on Gretchen Corbett for some reason back in the 8th grade.

This is old (2010), but an intriguing thought.

"Rumor has it that Josh Holloway (con man Sawyer from Lost) is a 'viable choice' in a proposed NBC reboot of the 70s TV series the Rockford Files. Josh Holloway is the right mix of leading man, charm, and intelligence, and in my book would be perfect for Rockford."

The site (Snark, Critic and Pop) suggested Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost, V) for Gretchen Corbett's old role. I'm down with that.

That is interesting. Of course the real star of the Rockford Files was his gold Firebird. Wonder what their ideas are on that?
