Next to me this morning at a red light was a guy in his early twenties I'd guess, with his graduation tassel hanging from his mirror. Now surely no college graduate is that puerile so it must be his high school tassel, I brilliantly deduced.
And I thought, "Seriously?". Given the sorry state of general education in this country, I'm not sure HS graduation is worth celebrating as an achievement. In fact, I don't get HS graduation parties or these families who yell annoyingly as their kid struts across the stage to receive a diploma for barely accomplishing at 18 what kids in Sweden and Japan can do at 12.
If your development arrested at 18 and your fondest memory is rolling the principal's yard with toilet paper the day before graduation, don't advertise it. Take the tassel off the mirror and move on.

Say, aren't those LSU colors?
Heh heh, they are and it wouldn't surprise me to learn that LSU fans are this infantile and regressive, but purple and gold are probably the most common colors for HS too.
