Never underestimate the foolishness of the American people
Here is President Obama's reaction to the House passing the awful Senate bill that not only avoided the fiscal cliff everybody's in a panic about, but it also cemented the GOP as spineless cowards who deserve to be kicked out of office at the earliest possible opportunity.
From Bloomberg -- More than 80 percent of households with incomes between $50,000 and $200,000 would pay higher taxes. Among the households facing higher taxes, the average increase would be $1,635.
Even Grover Norquist tried mightily to save face by preposterously claiming that republicans who took his no new taxes pledge but who voted for this new tax bill, didn't technically break their pledge because these were just tax breaks to begin with and not extending them was not the same thing as raising taxes.....what a fool he is!
Mark Steyn sagely observed yesterday that the master plan of Obama is to get the American people conditioned to, and dependent upon, deficit spending and in a few years they'll be happy to raise taxes on people other than themselves in order to pay for all the goodies. Looks like we're already there.
