Eric Holder plays the race card

From Politico -- Attorney General Eric Holder told a council of African American church leaders Wednesday that the "sacred" right to vote is under assault nationwide, with federal lawsuits and at least a dozen state laws that could weaken — or block — minority access to the ballot box this fall.


Would anybody like to make a guess as to why black leaders like Holder, Sharpton, Jackson, and Wright continue to gin up the black community with wild-eyed stories of whites keeping them down in an unfair country controlled by racists?

For the same reason parents continue telling their children there's a Santa Clause, because they keep believing it. Holder, at Obama's direction no doubt, knows that he can manipulate blacks into voting for Obama again simply by telling them that they are under attack by republicans for their dark skin.

Syrians need to stand up for themselves

Are we, the US, really considering intervening in the Syrian unrest? There are reports that the government of Bashir al-Assad has killed as many as 10,000 Syrian civilian protesters. As horrible as that situation is, what are we going to do?

Syrian isn't Libya. We can't just fly a couple of sorties and drones to take care of the problem. In order to have any effect at all, we'd have to essentially invade Syria and fight against tens of thousands of well-armed Syrian troops with home-field advantage. Are the American people ready for another middle-east quagmire with a terrifically high body count and cost?

Don't we have the quickly approaching Iran/Israel problem to worry about? Aren't we still fighting and dying in Iraq and Afghanistan? I hate the current situation for the Syrian people, but they must solve their own problems. We're spread a little thin right now.

The science is settled...climate-change believers are idiots

A recent study confirmed what I've known all along, that people who are wisely skeptical of man-made climate change being an existential threat to Earth are smarter regarding science topics than deluded global-warming believers.

You'd have to be an idiot to believe that CO2 is anything but harmless plant food and not believe that microscopic changes in Earth's surface temperature are likely due to natural fluctuations of Earth's temperature cycles and the effects of the Sun.

The climate-change industry was concocted to accomplish two things, to centralize authority through regulation over all human activity in the name of the environment and to enrich the pipers like Al Gore who advance this tripe.

Detroit goes dark

Rampant political corruption, labor-union greed, liberalism, and utter incompetence have turned America's 5th largest city into a pitiful shell of a city with only 60% of the population of 10 years ago. Entire Detroit neighborhoods have been totally abandoned, even by crack dealers and gangs.

In an effort to cut infrastructure and public service costs, the city will be cutting power to half of the 88,000 street light in the city's outlying areas. This is to coax the few remaining residents to concentrate toward the urban areas where police, fire, and ambulance service can afford to go. Certainly as darkness takes over the city each night, so will the criminal elements. I guess those folks who live in the darkness are on their own when the gangs kick in their doors.

This is the inevitable culmination of urban liberalism.....poverty, disrepair, crime, decrepitude, hopelessness, and despair.....in short, Detroit. As long as democrats are in charge of Detroit, don't look for much improvement....or street lights.

Marion Barry is a bigoted idiot

DC city councilman and infamous crackhead Marion Barry was trying to apologize, insincerely, to Asians whom he called "dirty" a few weeks ago, when he had this to say about other minorities' struggles with acceptance......

Brett Kimberlin, criminal, democrat darling

Back in 1978 Brett Kimberlin set off a series of bombs at the Indiana Speedway injuring many people, apparently he'd taken time off from dealing drugs, molesting children, forgery, and perjury. What followed was a life of criminal activity that eventually landed him in jail. While in prison, he became a lawyer and in just the last 15 years has sued over 100 people including sometimes the victims of his crimes. In short this is a vile, despicable, repulsive human being....which clearly is how he landed solidly in the democrat party and secured funding from the Tides Foundation, Theresa Heinz Kerry, Barbara Streisand, and George Soros, radical leftists all.

Democrats will embrace literally anybody regardless of what a heinous criminal you are. You can be a murderer, rapist, domestic terrorist, racist, communist, socialist, or just a garden-variety hater of America and democrats will adore you as long as you trot out the usual progressive ideology. What sets Brett Kimberlin apart is that he's threatening personally, bloggers who dare dig up and expose his vast criminal past.

These include Michelle Malkin, Aaron Walker, Patterico, Liberty Chick, and Robert Stacy McCain.

When people are threatened either with violence or law suits because they exposed the public truth about a persons criminal past, then all our rights to know the truth are threatened. That's why I'm blogging today about Brett Kimberlin. There's strength in numbers and we won't be intimidated into being silent by a democrat-funded thug.

Dr. Shakil Afridi gets stabbed in the back by Obama

Pictured with the late Osama bin Laden is Dr. Shakil Afridi, bin Laden's doctor. He is credited with invaluable help in locating bin Laden in the days and weeks leading up to SEAL-6 killing him. Now the infuriated Pakistani's have convicted him of treason for helping the US and sentenced him to 33 years in prison....of which he'll certainly do no more than 3 months before somebody kills him. Though they knew where he was all along, Pakistan felt humiliated when the SEALs entered their country and killed their hero bin Laden right under their noses.

 Yet Obama barely has a comment as he's too busy squeezing Hollywood dingbats for campaign cash to worry about it. The State Department or DOD has not even said more than they think it was a "mistake" to imprison Afridi. Is this how we treat those who help us abroad? How can the US ever expect to get people in other countries to assist us when we let this sort of thing happen with barely a comment?

Despite the obvious hostility throughout Pakistan toward the US, Obama continues to funnel tens of millions in money seized from taxpayers to that drug-addled nation, for what? Good will? Help in the GWOT? A move toward democracy? They hate the US and as a Muslim country, they always will.

New York public schools begin Islamic indoctrination with mandatory Arabic classes

The school claims that it's to achieve the coveted International Baccalaureate status, but any observer knows that it's to appease America's Muslim enemies.

Of all the internationally useful languages, whether it's in science, engineering, business, aviation, or medicine, English, Chinese, German, French, or Japanese would serve you better than Arabic. After all, what useful contribution has an Arabic-speaking country made to civilized society that would compel others to learn their language, I mean other than in the terrorist sciences of blowing things up and killing innocent people?

As the democrats hypocritically criticize Ann Romney for being married to a man who earned his money, Michelle Obama uses other peoples' money to fund her lavish lifestyle as queen of America. I'm sorry, but she's hideous and an embarrassment to her position as first lady.

Law of the Sea Treaty is bad for the US, but good for Obama

Like all liberals, Barack Obama detests the US for her past sins of colonialism, slavery, and success while other nations struggle. To rectify this wealth imbalance, he is preparing to put before the Senate, with traitor John Kerry's help, the Law of the Sea Treaty(LOST). If passed, Article 82 will bind any member country to fork over taxes on any commerce conducted beyond the 200 mile continental shelf limit. Essentially this is a tax on the US alone as we are the only nation who drills for oil in water that deep. The taxes will be collected by an international body based in Jamaica.

 From FoxNews -- If the U.S. joins LOST, it will be required by Article 82 to forfeit royalties generated from oil and gas development on the continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles — an area known as the "extended continental shelf" (ECS).

LOST amounts to a money grab of US dollars to be distributed to poorer nations UN-style, that is if there's any left after the bureaucrats spend it on their lavish life-styles in Jamaica. The Constitution says that only Congress has the power to collect taxes, so unless I'm mistaken, no US President has ever ceded US sovereignty to any international body. To Obama and the democrats, the Constitution is something to be gotten around, not the revered law of the land.

Muslim joke of the day

I try mightily to leave out no group as I toss around insults. This includes specifically Muslims since they threaten with beheading anybody who pokes even a little fun of their religion. Any group who takes themselves that seriously deserves to be ridiculed and mocked at every opportunity. To that end, here is my favorite Muslim joke......

America the police state

Obama sicked stooge Eric Holder on Gibson guitar for supposedly using banned wood harvested illegaly from other countries to make guitars. They seized hundreds of guitars from the Gibson factory and have yet to return them.

Now the federal police state is threatening to disrupt concerts in which musicians are using these guitars they've already purchased from Gibson. Apparently Gibson CEO, Henry Juszkiewicz was unintimidated so Obama and Holder had to ratchet up the pressure.

In Obama's new America, where literally any human activity can be criminalized, Juszkiewicz committed the following crimes agasint Obama: he donated heavily to Republicans and uses non-union labor in his factory.....both unspeakable acts agsinst the current regime.

Has Eric Holder righted all the wrongs in the US that he's got time to trump up idiotic environmental charges under the archaic Lacey Act, against an iconic American company while ignoring the crimes of companies like Solyndra and GE?

Some minorities love being victimized

Some members of put-upon minorities are so used to feeling victimized it becomes a way of life. Such is the case with Aimee Whitchurch, and Christel Conklin, a lesbian couple in Colorado who used their perceived persecution for being lesbians to claim that neighbors painted this sign on their garage doors and put a noose in a tree. They did it to their own garage.

Turns out, the neighbors had asked them to clean up their dog's piles of crap all over the place and they didn't like that, so naturally they accused the neighbors of hate-crimes against them.

It's as if these minorities are so used to believing that everybody hates them that they don't know how to act when the look around and nobody's hating or even noticing them. And isn't that the ultimate stated goal, for any minority, to stop being noticed at all as being any different than anybody else? I guess when you are used to feeling special because everybody treats you as special, it's hard to just be a regular person.  

Elizabeth Warren in heap big trouble

Elizabeth Warren not only lied about being a native American, apparently she plagiarized some recipes for her book, politically incorrectly titled, "Pow Wow Chow".

At least two of her recipes can be found verbatim, in another Cherokee Indian cookbook that predates hers. When will this woman learn?

Certainly as a political blogger, I'm happy for her to remain in the spotlight for as long as possible....it's like Christmas morning every day with her.

The Kennedy clan claim another victim

Mary Kennedy, estranged wife of green-energy kook Joe Jr. who drove her to this with serial cheating and drug addiction, hanged herself yesterday in a barn on the family property.

Here is another sad chapter in the sordid tale of the Kennedy clan who our media hold up as American royalty when they are crooks, thieves, rapists, philanderers, addicts, mysogenists, at least one murderer, morally bankrupt, depraved, and absurdly self-righteous.

Can we stop already with the canonization of this decrepit family? They represent the worst of who we are.

Another debt-limit fight on the horizon

As another debt-ceiling deadline looms sometime this summer, Obama's boy-wonder who can't figure out TurboTax, Timmy Geithner, hopes the republicans won't insist on concomitant budget cuts to go along with raising the debt limit. He just wants the debt limit raised, as if the American people are extending to the bloated government bureaucracy another few trillion in credit card spending.

My guess is that Boehner will again insist on cuts equal to or greater than the limit raise, but in the end the House republicans, fearing negative election repercussions via the Obama-friendly media, will pretty much cave. The media will howl about the mean republicans if they try to stand in the way of Obama getting a line of credit increase, and gullible beltway republicans always give in if they think it'll make the media like them.

I have news for Speaker Boehner: it won't, so stick to your guns.

Rather than teach better, Florida just lowers the standards

If you're an overpaid, education bureaucrat in Florida and a large number of high-school students fail the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test in order to graduate, do you.....

A) change the curriculum to address the shortfalls?
B) hire more-qualified instructors?
C) offer test-prep classes after hours for students who need the help?

or D), do what Florida did, just lower the passing grade so that 80% are now passing and fit nicely onto the bell curve? Of course Florida's teachers will now be crowing about what great educators they are and the union will demand bonuses.

This is what's wrong with government education in this country.

Why don't we raise the time required in the Olympics to win a gold medal in the mile to 6 minutes? That way everybody wins a gold medal and their self esteem remains intact.

Government parasites exposed

Some clever folks over at AsburyParkPress.com filed a FOIA request and got access to the database that lists all federal employees' salaries and bonuses. Rightfully, the CIA, FBI, etc. are exempt, but everybody else is in there. Search any non-cabinet, government agency and look at how many mid-level, do-nothing bureaucrats are making well into the six figures with tens of thousands in bonuses each year. No wonder our country is in a budget crisis.....the cost of supporting the government is absurd.

Atlanta traffic takes a turn for the ironic

If any of you live near or have visited Atlanta, you're aware of the horrible traffic from the north down 75, 85, and 400 into the city. To relieve some of the pressure, brilliant transportation authorities decided to open up the emergency lanes during rush hour....with predictable results.

A friend told me today about a wreck on the first day of the new policy, when in the mass confusion, an emergency lane ended abruptly and somebody slammed into a guard rail.

I hope nobody was hurt, but that's just plain, hilarious irony. The open emergency lanes cause a crash to which the ambulance cannot respond in the emergency lanes....heh heh. Idiots!

Jerry Brown doubles down on bad policy

Because of their generous social programs and the costs associated with taking care of illegal aliens, California is running a budget deficit of around $16Billion dollars. To complicate the problem, state taxes are very high as is the cost of living in the Golden State, so many companies and individuals are leaving in favor of more tax-friendly states such as Tennessee and Texas.

So what's a governor to do? A: Cut spending? B: Lure businesses back by cutting corporate taxes? C: Both? or D: do what Gov. Brown is doing, raising taxes on the remaining citizens and businesses?

If you picked D, you are correct.

How dumb can one man be? He'll drive still more people and businesses out of California and soon there'll be nobody left there except rich celebrities who shelter their wealth offshore and indigent illegal aliens. Then who'll pay for everything?

Pentagon exemplifies the awfulness of government

You want to know what's wrong with the federal government in a nutshell? Look no further than this example of sheer idiocy over at the mother of all bureaucracies.....

From Drudge -- The Pentagon was inundated with so many studies in 2010 that it commissioned a study to determined how much it cost to produce all those studies. Now the Government's Accounting Office has reviewed the Pentagon's study and concluded in a report this week that it's a flop.

Apparently Sec. Gates' desk was covered in study reports to the point that it got in the way of being SecDef. This is how needless bureaucrats justify their own jobs, either by regulating the rest of us to death or by studying something about which nobody was curious.

It is this kind if government waste that tempts me to cheat like hell on my taxes.

Muslim rape squad ignored by UK police

In what used to be our proud mother country, now known as Britainistan, police decided not to investigate the ongoing gang rapes of dozens of young white girls by a group of "Asians" because they feared being called racists.

In case you were confused, "Asians" is the term used in Europe to describe Muslims. The perps' names are Kabeer Hassan, Abdul Aziz, Abdul Rauf, Mohammed Sajid, Adil Khan, Abdul Qayyum, Mohammed Amin, Hamid Safi.

That sound "Asian" to you? Me neither.

Apparently this gang of Muslim thugs routinely raped many white, under-aged white girls with impunity and the full knowledge of the police. Because of pernicious political correctness, the world's current most protected class, Muslim men, enjoys free reign to rape whomever they please because white people are afraid of the racist label.

Honor killings, rapes, vandalism, terrorism....all are protected activities when you are a Muslim living in a dhimmi state like the UK, and in some cases, the US.

Obama applies for permit to slaughter bald eagles

The federal government is asking for extended permission to slaughter bald eagles....with idiotic wind mills. Currently there is a 5-year limit on the taking of protected species when engaged in an otherwise legal commercial activity, but wind-turbine blades are slaughtering birds of all species by the millions annually, including America's symbol. So the government is asking for a 20 year permit to kill bald eagles or else it will have to remedy the situation. It matters not that stupid wind farms account for barely 2% of our electricity needs and cost far more than coal or natural gas, democrats are going to press forward with useless "green" energy that is no where near marketability.

I wonder how many Americans would vote to keep subsidizing stupid windmills if they knew it meant the slaughter of millions of birds each year including the bald eagle?

Right you are.....not many.

bashful tinklers provide windfall for trial lawyers

In 2009, as a "thank you" to trial lawyers who helped him get elected, Obama dramatically expanded the "conditions" that are covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act to include such idiotic things as Bashful Bladder Syndrome.

Self-important psychiatrists live to describe new conditions of patients, then name them syndromes. It gets them on the cover of Psychology Today, allows them to charge higher rates, and gets them a prime speaking slot at the next head-shrinkers conference.

But inventing new psychological conditions to describe people who are just weird is how they validate their kooky profession. Politicians gain from this because they can pretend to give a shit about these "patients" and pass legislation to help them. When the ADA gets involved, trial lawyers gain because it's a whole new arena of way to extort money from employers on behalf of a put-upon employee who feels disrespected somehow.

With the newly defined "bashful bladder syndrome", in no time, employees will be lying about their inability to pee in front of the drug-control officers and fellow workers, lawyers will line up to sue the employer for not providing a non-hostile work environment, and juries will award fellow citizens millions for being embarrassed.

The cost of compliance by providing private bathrooms for all employees nationwide is estimated to be in the $600,000,000 range. Clearly many employees will lose jobs because of this. But unemployed, dependent voters helps democrats too, so that's a win-win for them....though a total loss for employers no matter how you look at it.

Now, as intimidating urination goes, this bathroom might give me a reason to pause and concentrate.....

Rumors of Tea Party demise have been greatly exaggerated

In what is certainly a warning klaxon to entrenched, beltway republicans, RINO Richard Lugar of Indiana lost to a Tea Party candidate by 20 points yesterday.

The media have been running gleeful stories lately about the demise of the Tea Party and its influence on elections and about how it's all about how Occupy is the wave of future elections. That's wishful thinking on the part of the media. The reason the media doesn't see Tea Party activists running around demonstrating is because we have jobs. The Occupy rabble are wholly unemployable because of their lack of work ethic, no demonstrable skills, and general stench.

Congressional and Senate republicans up for re-election this year who were hoping the media were right about the Tea Party are probably calling strategy meetings this morning to figure out how to position themselves to get re-elected now that the Tea Party has shown itself to be alive and well.

If you never had a spider burger, you need to. It's a soft-shell crab, breaded and deep fried, then placed on a bun with lettuce, tomato, tartar and cocktail sauce. This is from Doc's in Gulf Shores. A must-visit if you ever find yourself down there.

Sometimes you're just a moron

This picture sums up perfectly my philosophy on why things happen to people. Things that we find to be unexpected, undeserved, and even tragic.

There is not always a master plan in which we only play a predetermined role. Earth is a dangerous, unpredictable planet and we've created a very dangerous and unpredictable world for ourselves. If you wreck your car, it wasn't necessarily God's plan for you, as everybody like to believe because belief in a higher power at work in their lives gives them comfort, but maybe you were a moron for texting while driving and your own stupidity wrecked your car.

It is my belief that we determine what happens to us to a far greater degree than God does by operating the strings of our lives like marionettes. But that's just me.

Moonrise in Gulf Shores, Alabama

Sorry for the light posting lately. It's been super busy at work, at home, and I've had to travel some.

Hopefully I'll get back on track. I just got back from watching my son compete in the Alabama high-school track championships in Gulf Shores. We stayed on the 10th floor of a condo building which overlooked the famous Sea&Suds beach restaurant. But the reason I took this picture is that the moon is currently closer to the Earth than it will be for some time and so it appears very large.

It didn't seem to make the waves any bigger or the tide different, but if NASA says the moon is closer, who am I to argue? Those scientists aren't flying shuttles or going to the space station any more so all they have to do is moon watch....so if they say it's closer, I guess it's closer.

Obama crony Elizabeth Warren caught in a big lie

Obama crony Elizabeth Warren is running for the Senate seat currently held by Scott Brown in Mass. (The democrat party is still seething at the thought that a republican, albeit a RINO republican, is holding the seat occupied by Ted Kennedy.) Warren is a faculty member at Harvard where she laughably holds a minority position reserved for Native Americans.

It turns out that if she's got any Native American blood in her, it's only 1/32 of her DNA. By that standard we'd all qualify as minorities.

Lacking any real qualifications and relying purely on academic theory, democrats love to claim treasured minority status for themselves. They feel it gives them special status and influence with actual minorities. This is because democrats see minority voters as stupid, incompetent, and easily convinced of what's good for them by someone like them who assumes that authority.....someone like Warren. Fortunately, her lie was exposed and even Native Americans are outraged that somebody with only 1/32 Indian blood would use it to claim a minority position at Harvard.

Looks like Scott Brown's seat is safe for another term.
