Boy wonder tax-cheat Tim Geithner is tapped by Chairman Zero to head up negotiations with republicans on tax policy...
From FoxNews -- President Obama announced that he has dispatched Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and OMB Director Jack Lew to lead negotiations with both parties on a potential tax cut compromise.
When are you people going to get it? There are no tax cuts on the table here! All they're doing is negotiating whose taxes will stay the same and whose will go up. We should be so lucky that our privileged overlords would benevolently allow us to keep a morsel more of what we've earned by cutting our taxes. Don't let the feckless liberal media acting as obedient mouthpieces for craven democrats convince you you're getting a tax cut from Obama......you are not!
Look, I'll be the first to come to Sarah Palin's defense when it comes to policy issues and if she won the GOP nomination she'd get my enthusiastic vote but, she'd have to show that she knows the difference between domestic law enforcement and international law. This was her tweet about the Wikileaks case....
Inexplicable: I recently won in court to stop my book "America by Heart" from being leaked, but US Govt can't stop Wikileaks' treasonous act?
Wikileaks is based in Sweden and our courts have no jurisdiction there. Nor does Wikileaks founder Julian Assange have to abide by demands by our State Department or the Obama administration to not publish documents. Furthermore, why does everybody keep calling him a traitor and guilty of treason? He's not an American citizen. He's an Australian national living in Sweden. Is Assange a detestable, anti-American a-hole? Certainly, but he's not a traitor to the US. Plus, I doubt seriously if neutral Sweden would extradite him to the US to face charges of espionage. Palin should know this and stop with the phoney populist outrage.
Face it Americans. The fault of this document theft does not lie with Assange. It lies equally with private Manning and others who stole the documents and with the US government who failed miserably to secure them in the first place. If you want to be outraged, be outraged at the breathtaking incompetence of the federal bureaucracy in the State department.
Judge Napolitano: "It’s hard for me to believe that WTC7 came down by itself."
As any first-year engineering student can tell you, it didn't come down by itself. Fire and gravity brought it down. But a physics debate is missing the point entirely. In order to accept that WTC-7 collapse was not part of the plane attack, you must accept that our federal government, specifically the Bush administration, deliberately and secretly used controlled demolition to destroy the building with prior knowledge of the terrorist attacks. I wonder if the Judge is prepared to make that accusation? I doubt he's prepared to say that, but either you believe everything that happened that day was part of the attack or you believe the entire thing was orchestrated by George Bush...there's no in between or partial responsibility.

So, let me get this straight. The big data-dump of 250,000 leaked diplomatic cables reveal that American diplomats occasionally spy on other diplomats, the Arabs don’t like the Persians, British royalty can be rude, and Obama and his disciples have poor opinions of other world leaders. Oh, and the Chinese government might be trying to censor parts of the internet, the Russian government might have ties to organized crime and members of the Afghan government might be corrupt.
Like I said, big whup! How does all this rise to the level of scandalous international incident? We already knew all this, it's just that nobody's said it out loud before now. After demanding his money back, a disappointed Flynn continues....
Of course, it is possible that more startling revelations come to light. Color me skeptical, though, as it seems Assange would lead with his best stuff. Regardless, I don’t think the real scandal is the content of the cables. I think it is this:
How the hell does a 22-year old private have access to this stuff?
See, you people don't think I know what I'm talking about. Demented and cynical though I may be about most news stories, I can discern the real crises from manufactured ones....serious journalists came to the same conclusions.
Click on the link above and read the whole story.
Regarding the Wikileaks document dump: In the third document dump by Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, over 250,000 state department documents, including sensitive diplomatic correspondence, were put up for grabs over the Web yesterday. Many state secrets will be revealed in the coming days as reporters pour over the information. Already from the documents, we know that Saudi Arabia has been badgering the US to destroy Iran's nuclear depots, that Pres. Clinton ordered diplomats to spy on other countries at the UN, and that Iran transported weapons to Hezbollah in ambulances. Certainly more outrageous behavior and correspondence among diplomats will be revealed in the coming weeks. But at whom should the outrage be directed?
Julian Assange, while loathsome, probably fancies himself a journalist and as such, couldn't resist exposing that which is kept secret. What self-respecting journalist could?
Nor can we blame the NYT, Drudge, or any other news outlet for republishing this information. It is the job of reporters to try to get this information just as it's the job of the government to keep it hidden. The blame lies equally with Pvt. Bradley Manning, the state department employee who is currently in custody under suspicion of being the mole, and with the lax system that allowed a private in the Army singular access to this much intelligence. That said, Julian Assange should have practiced a little more journalistic responsibility and redacted those documents that contained information that identified people who may be put at risk for their lives by this release. He did not and their blood will be on his hands.

From FoxNews -- “Jolie hates this holiday and wants no part in rewriting history like so many other Americans,” the friend said. “To celebrate what the white settlers did to the native Indians, the domination of one culture over another, just isn’t her style. She definitely doesn’t want to teach her multi-cultural family how to celebrate a story of murder.”
“Angelina gets so grossed out by Thanksgiving that she has made sure her family will not be in America this year on Thursday,” an insider tells Shuter.
Thanksgiving isn't a celebration of the evil white man's murder of defenseless Indians. If she believes what our kids are taught in government schools, it's about thanking our head-feathered friends for showing us how to survive the harsh, north-east winters.
I'd like to think she'll see a serious drop in ticket sales to her stupid movies but Americans' obsession with celebrities far outweighs their willingness to not buy a ticket to a move featuring a celebrity who has contempt for one of our most revered traditions.
There's talk of her playing the role of Dagny Taggart in the movie version of Atlas Shrugged, but this may have just ruined it for me.
Happy Thanksgiving to all TRR readers. I appreciate you stopping by and leaving your two-cents-worth from time to time. As I do each year on T-giving, I offer my belief about the possible origin of Thanksgiving framed by the issue with which we wrestle today....
Rush talked about this on his show today and I've heard it many times before in various media but, the link between the Pilgrims and the current question of socialism that we face in this election is interesting. As I've pointed out many times before, the crap with which the government indoctrination centers(public schools) fill your kid's head about history, government, and society is mostly politically correct garbage. Thanksgiving is a perfect example. If you asked 100 public high-school graduates what the Pilgrims were thankful for, 99 of them, assuming they could find Canada on a map of North America, would tell you the Pilgrims were thankful to the Indians for saving their wretched, miserable lives. Here's how the basic tale goes, at least in most public schools:
The interloping, white Pilgrims rudely invaded the peaceful serenity of Earth-loving, native-Americans(the original environmentalists), bringing with them disease, pestilence, and tooth decay. Not to mention wastefulness of Earth's precious resources, the assumption of white superiority over dark-skinned people, and syphilis(and that's just what your first grader learns). The Pilgrims didn't know how to hunt, fish, or garden so half of them died during the first winter(and rightly so because they were such bad people to the quaint Indians). During the following Spring and Summer, the kind, benevolent Indians taught the stupid, lazy white Pilgrims to provide for themselves. After the bountiful harvest at the end of the summer, the Pilgrims invited the Indians over for a feast to thank them for saving their decrepit, worthless, miserable lives...after which the Indians were either killed or rounded up and put on reservations and made to become alcoholics and failures because the white man didn't want any more trouble from them. And that's the story of Thanksgiving that your first grader no doubt can recount to you almost verbatim.
Well, it didn't exactly happen like that. William Bradford, the first governor of Plymouth, wrote about the first colony, its troubles, and about its first Thanksgiving. You can read an excellent account here, or in many other places on the web.
What teachers always leave out of the story of the Pilgrims, is that they attempted collectivism, i.e. socialism for the first time in America, right there in Plymouth. Bradford assigned every family that remained after the first deadly winter, a plot of land. Every family had to take whatever they grew and put in a collective common area from which every family could take what it needed. What Bradford very quickly learned was that in the absence of self-interest, the Pilgrims were a bunch of shiftless degenerates who sat around waiting to get some of what everybody else produced, to the point that barely anything got produced at all. Collectivism/socialism had failed utterly and completely, because where's the incentive to work hard, and be efficient and productive if the fruits of your labor will be taken away and given to others who haven't worked as hard, if at all?
So Bradford re-issued plots of land to each family and whatever they grew on that plot of land was theirs to keep or sell. Soon, with the incentive of self-interest, the Pilgrims were producing more food than they could possibly eat. So they set up trading posts to facilitate the mutually beneficial, free exchange of goods between each other and with the Indians. From their profits, they were able to pay off their debts to the King back in England. (The news of great wealth being generated in the New World encouraged other entrepreneurial minded folks to make the voyage as well.) Their ingenuity, efficiency, and productivity produced so much food that they hosted a feast, and invited the Indians to join them, to thank God, not the Indians for their lives and their bounty.
See, that's not the politically correct tale of Thanksgiving collectivism that unionized school marms like to teach. Like William Bradford, Obama wants to create here in America, a collectivist utopia where many people share in the bounty produced by the few. But unlike Bradford, Obama does not have the wisdom to see that it is doomed to failure....and there's a lot more at stake this time around.
When you give thanks today, say a quiet prayer for America's determination to resist the collectivists drive to socialize our country. Say it quietly because you don't want to antagonize too much on Thanksgiving, the one or two smug liberals we all tolerate in our families.
NOTE: ignore the comments thread. A spammer got into it last year and I didn't feel like deleting one by one, all 130 of them. Feel free to leave one of your own though.
From MSNBC -- WASHINGTON — Cracking down on fake pot, the government began emergency action Wednesday to outlaw five chemicals used in herbal blends to make synthetic marijuana. They're sold in drug paraphernalia shops and on the Internet to a burgeoning market of teens and young adults.
The purpose of banning these substances is so that anybody caught using or selling it can be arrested the same way actual marijuana users are now. Why are we wasting law enforcement's time with this when these morons who are so desperate to get a high that they'll smoke, swallow, or inject literally anything, regardless of how dangerous and unknown the side effects are. These idiots will self-remove from the population. They're the same ones who have brain damage now from a youth spent huffing aerosol cans and sniffing glue. I don't think we should waste tax dollars and jail space, better suited for violent criminals, on stupid junkies. They'll never amount to anything and will always be dependent on their parents or taxpayers anyway.

From KnoxNews -- For the sixth time in five months, there's been gunfire during a South Knox County home robbery.
The latest incident, Monday night, involved a woman shooting and killing a man with a lengthy criminal history during a home invasion robbery after the intruder had struggled with and shot her husband, authorities said Tuesday.
When officers arrived, they found Joshua Dexter Watson, 24, of Knoxville dead from multiple wounds administered by a .357-caliber revolver belonging to the homeowners, DeBusk said.
Heh heh..."administered by a .357". That's a nice way of saying she triple tapped that dude till he stopped moving. Good for her!
The .357 revolver in the hands of a determined home owner makes quite the effective crime deterrent....that is if certain death can be considered a deterrent.

Sadly we must add Scarlett Johansson to the long list of celebrity nitwits who have swallowed the global-warming hokum fabricated in the dark recesses of Al Gore's tormented mind, that is when he's not sexually molesting hotel masseuses. The buxom actress thinks it's up to rich countries to save poor countries from the imaginary effects of a warming planet by what else, redistributing wealth. She encourages rich nations to save the poor by.....
"...setting up a new global climate fund that is fair and safe and enables vulnerable people, especially women, in poor countries to build resilience to the growing threats of a changing climate. Progress on climate funding will also help restore trust between poor and rich countries, opening new doors for more constructive dialogue."
Despite man-made global warming having been totally and completely debunked as crap, celebrities still feel self-important and socially relevant when they pretend to stand up for the "less fortunate" and lecture the rest of us about how our lifestyles harm others. We're supposed to ignore that the average celebrity halfwit conspicuously consumes many times the resources as the average American for whom they show contempt.
Scarlett should stick to acting and looking good in a dress and leave the issue debates and public policy to grown ups who've actually given this stuff some thought.
Thanks to Politico for the story.
As the Thanksgiving travel day of Wednesday looms, irate Americans are planning a national Opt-Out Day in order to "punish" TSA workers for having to perform onerous, time-consuming, and invasive body searches for those who choose not to have the full body scan. But who's getting punished? TSA workers are paid by the hour so they don't care if you miss your flight to Sheboygan. After their shift, they go home to their families while you are stuck suffering at the airport, not with your families. Passengers who unnecessarily delay other travelers in order to make a stupid point about the TSA are in fact....stupid.
If full-body scans offend you that much, and having TSA goons feel you up for a minute or two is that awful, then drive or take the bus. But slowing down travel for fliers all over the country is only hurting them, not the TSA.
No doubt Obama's demonstrated military weakness contributed to the North's cavalier attitude about bombing South Korea's island with artillery. They know that Obama won't do anything except hold a press conference in which he won't really threaten anything, followed by a UN-style, strongly worded letter.
Regular reader David sent in this link to American Thinker in which Michael Filizof asks pretty much the same questions and makes pretty much the same points that I've been making for a couple of years now. Basically, why is the US military continuing to be responsible for the security of dozens of countries around the world when they can afford their own security and the threat of communism from Russia has been gone for 20 years? Furthermore, our current adventure in the middle east needs to come quickly to a close.
Given President Zero's disdain for foreign policy, I mean other than narcissistically needing personal approval from old Europe and Asia, it's no wonder we're headed into dark times both domestically and internationally.
Here's an excerpt...but click the link and head on over and read the whole thing.
An honest appraisal of the situation is downright depressing. In a few years, everything might come unglued. Hopefully that won't happen, but the current trajectory of things doesn't look very good, and our political leadership seems absolutely clueless about how to advance American interests in an increasingly dangerous world.

Heh heh, thug union boss for the American Federation of Government Employees(AFGA) John Gage is whining about abusive, demeaning, and degrading verbal treatment TSA employees are receiving from travelers.
Don't tell me, let me guess: higher pay, more vacation, better health-care, and longer and more frequent breaks are just the thing to make work conditions bearable for the downtrodden TSA patriots?
Gimme a break!
Parents, know where your kids are. Here in Hoover, two girls(15 and 16) snuck out of their parents' homes and crashed their car into a telephone pole at 3:25am this morning. The passenger(pictured) was killed and the driver was burned over 18% of her body. I can't imagine the horror both parents are going through. Whatever you do, if you have teens who drive, make them read this story.
If you mistakenly believe that the United Nations troops are ineffective, think again. If you want to infect with deadly Cholera, a tiny island nation already ravaged by hurricanes and earthquakes, then the UN troops are exactly the men for the job.
Almost 1000 people in Haiti have died from an unexplained Cholera outbreak. "Coincidentally" 454 UN troops, fresh off an adventure raping, murdering, and pillaging Nepalese locals, moved into Haiti, bringing Cholera with them. Predictably the UN claimed it was just another isolated incident, but CDC experts say there's no reason for Cholera to exist in Haiti unless an infected person brought it. If this outbreak goes unchecked, observers estimate hundreds of thousands could eventually die.
And what do you suppose the UN is doing about this crisis that they caused? Why demanding $164million, that's what. For the UN it's always about money, more and more money....especially from the US.
How badly can the UN do it's job before the US finally stops underwriting this disaster of an organization?

Today Chairman Zero slapped American citizens in the face yet again by giving his favorite union thug the Presidential Medal of Freedom...
From FoxNews -- President Obama today named AFL-CIO President Emeritus John Sweeney as a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor. The award is presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.
Just like with the Nobel prize that Obama received, this honor was unearned and is therefor worthless. Anybody who receives the PMF going forward will think twice before being thankful for it.
Obama never does anything except payback campaign donors for past gifts, or lines up future donations. This is what's going on here. Lazy union thugs turned out big for democrats three weeks ago and Sweeney wanted a payback for it.
Let me be clear.....both of you are IDIOTS! It's a stupid TV show. I doubt I could sit through an entire hour of DWTS without putting a loaded .38 in my mouth. Why would anybody view it for anything other than what it is....a cheesy ratings bonanza for Fox and mindless entertainment for millions of celebrity-obsessed half-wits.
I don't care if you watch the show, but for it to enter your conscious mind even once other than during the hour you waste watching it, makes you an imbecile.

A woman posed as a physician and duped at least two other women into undergoing breast exams at her hands in Boise-area nightclubs, according to police.
Serves them right for being morons.
This dude should head up to Idaho and hit the bars. He might get some takers.
I'm finding it a little hard to get excited about GM's return to the NYSE.....
DETROIT — General Motors returned to life as a public company Thursday, launching a stock offering worth potentially $23 billion and ending the government’s role as majority shareholder and closing a remarkable chapter in American corporate history.
I'll still never buy another GM car....ever. The unions and bloated management that ran this company into the ground and who were rewarded with unconstitutional ownership of the company by Obama, are still there and intact. What's stopping them from whining about another bailout in 5 years? Nothing's changed.

House republicans today voted to ban legislation earmarks going forward. Earmark is another word for pork-barrel spending. It's how incumbents buy votes back home to help them cling to power and it's why something like 96% of incumbents get re-elected. And nobody is determined to cling to power like SC republican Lindsay Graham and Sen. Lisa Murkowski in Alaska.....
From Hotair -- “I support the moratorium, but if I find a circumstance back home where our economic interests are not served by the Obama administration, then I reserve the right to take care of South Carolina,” Graham said.
Murkowski, who appears to have warded off a tea party-backed challenger in a run-off campaign, is leading the charge. Tuesday, she offered a novel defense of seeking earmarks for her state, saying that Alaska, a “young” state admitted into the Union in 1959, hasn’t been able to enjoy earmarks for as long as the other states.
Entrenched senators don't particularly like the tea party, probably because they know that their time spent sucking at the public teat is limited. These otherwise useless representatives rely heavily on earmarks back in their districts to get elected year after year. The question is, are earmarks how congress should be spending tax-payer money? If a town in Iowa want a corn museum, why should money be taken from taxpayers in other states, and used to build the Sen. Tom Harkin Maize Museum, just so he can point to it as a way of reminding Iowa voters to vote for him again? The short answer is he shouldn't be allowed to do that. If Iowans want a corn museum, they can raise taxes to pay for it themselves.
No tax money should be spent on non-infrastructure projects. Further, dingbat Murkowski's idea that because Alaska jointed the union last, she should be able to make up for all the missed earmarks that the original 13 colonies enjoyed, is patently idiotic and she should be ashamed.
The earmark ban is a good one....more important for the symbolism than for the deficit reduction it represents.

From LibertyPundits -- Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI) was co-author of the legislation banning incandescent light bulbs, and now he wants to chair the House Energy Committee. His cohort in drafting this dreadful law was Jane Harmon (D-CA). They tried to extend the ban to outdoor lighting as well.
The bulbs we’ll be forced to use, thanks to Upton, are bad for the environment and bad for our health.
Banning incandescent light bulbs to somehow save the polar bears is perhaps the stupidest, most virulently anti-capitalist, anti-free market piece of crap legislation ever, second only to the passage of Obamacare. That the same republican who co-authored this outrage is running for the chairmanship of the house energy committee(so he can prevent it's repeal by newly-elected, real market conservatives), and that GOP leadership is considering it, shows that still more house cleaning in 2012 is needed. We need to remove anybody who has enjoyed the trappings of power for more than two terms. They cannot be trusted once they've gotten our votes. I realize some of you may think that this scorched-Earth policy is extreme, but drastic times call for drastic measures and there is no longer room for moderate republicans in the GOP.
Light up the phones people. Make sure house GOP leadership knows there'll be a price to pay in 2012 for elevating to chairman status, the person responsible for the insane incandescent bulb ban.
Thanks to entrenched RINO Fred Upton, it'll soon be illegal to purchase or own the incandescent light bulb.....pathetic!

Today we learned that no less than 111 companies, universities, and unions received waivers that exempt them from participation in Obamacare. As Michelle Bachmann pointed out today in a press conference on Capitol Hill, this is because everybody knows that Obamacare is unaffordable, it kills jobs, and drives up the price of health care to the point that many employees will have to be dropped entirely from their employer's health care rolls.
But this is old news to conservatives. My question is where is party favorite Jeb Henserling and why is the girl, who GOP leadership passed over for him, out there doing all the heavy lifting on this? I guess railing against the single worst piece of legislation in modern history is beneath GOP leadership and should be left to the tea-party rabble like Bachmann. After all, after one publicly eviscerates the President over his signature bill, one can't expect to receive many invitations to hoity-toity DC cocktail parties, now can one?
If this story doesn't illustrate why we need to get a hold of our southern border, nothing does....
A BOY suspected of being a hitman for a drug gang has been arrested in Mexico – sparking speculation that he may be the sadistic 12-year-old El Ponchis. Officials said the youngster is thought to have been working as a paid executioner and gunman.
The Sun told last Thursday how El Ponchis – The Cloak – has tortured and murdered dozens of enemies of his cocaine cartel. His trademark involves cutting victims’ throats so violently that their heads are left hanging by a thread. He is said to work with his sisters, who help with body disposal.
Dumb liberals being predictable liberals, I suspect media angst about what could have possibly gone wrong in this precious, young man's life will begin in 3...2...1...
And if you want to be less funny and practically ask for a cavity search instead for being confrontational and disrespectful, then put this one in your bag.
If I traveled a lot, I'd definitely get one. I know it would flag me as a trouble maker but it would be worth it.
Thanks to Belchspeak for the link.
From Politico -- "When they were out in the Boston Harbor, they weren't arguing about who was gay or who was having an abortion," said Ralph King, a letter signatory who is a Tea Party Patriots national leadership council member, as well as an Ohio co-coordinator.
I couldn't agree more. Insisting that "conservative" = dogmatic adherence to party-defined ideas of morality and personal behavior is a losing position for republicans. With the country heading toward the economic abyss and the government becoming intractably large, quixotically worrying about gay marriage, abortion, the war on drugs, Internet content, or whether women can own sex toys(all are associated with republican busy-bodies) is losing sight of their election-day mandate.
My advice to republicans in congress: do not take for granted the reliable and dutiful votes of Tea-Party conservatives. If you abdicate your responsibility to fulfill your campaign promises, the ire of the tea parties will be at you in two years, not Obama.
I know what you uptight feminists are thinking, "I've had it with Ed being a typical chauvinistic pig. He'll use any excuse to post pictures like this that objectify women."
Well, regardless of the level of my chauvinism which is debatable, this is actually a serious news story about Islamic extremism and how to deter it from immigrating to your country....
From FoxNews -- Want to immigrate to Denmark? Then you need to be able to handle to look at a pair of naked women’s breasts, at least if Peter Skaarup, foreign policy spokesman of the far-right Danish People’s party has his way.
According to Skaarup, a documentary film about Denmark that will be shown as part of an upcoming immigration test for foreigners needs to have a pair of breasts in it, to intimidate any extremists from attempting to enter the tiny Scandinavian country.
What a brilliant idea! As a condition of immigration, force people to accept the lifestyle variations they're likely to encounter while living there. If they have a problem with it, send them on their way, or at least patiently explain to them that your country might not be the best place for them to live.
The cronyism and utter corruption of our overlords is horrifying! The sad thing is that congress knows of the fleecing of America by the Fed and Goldman/Sachs and doesn't care. Average citizens are powerless to oppose our economic rape at the hands of secretive bankers who operate extraconstitutionally and above any law.
Thanks to Van Helsing over at Moonbattery for the vid.

With most of the blue-dog democrats in congress losing in the midterms, the resultant democrat contingency is decidedly more liberal and the lefties are pushing Obama to maintain the ground they seized in his first two years and toward a more liberal policy agenda for his next two....
From WashingtonPost -- On the heels of the Democratic Party's huge losses in last week's midterm elections, liberal activists have begun planning to push President Obama on a series of issues, demanding that he not cede any ground to Republicans.
Let's hope they succeed in facilitating his leftward course. The GOP is already looking to gain more seats in the house and senate, and maybe even win the presidency too. There could be no greater gift to republicans than for ideologues in the democrat party to keep on doing the same things that lost them the house two weeks ago. Doubling down on a losing strategy is still a losing strategy....it's just more fun for us conservatives to watch.
From National Review --
THE PRESIDENT: I feel obliged to take maybe one question from the Korean press — since you guys have been such excellent hosts. Anybody? This gentleman right here — he’s got his hand up. He’s the only one who took me up on it. Go ahead. And I’ll probably need a translation, though, if you’re asking the question in Korean. In fact, I definitely will need a translation. (Laughter.)
REPORTER: Unfortunately, I hate to disappoint you, President Obama, I’m actually Chinese.
Heh heh, OWNED! Like most Americans who've not been around Asians of different nationalities(or Africans, South Americans, eastern Europeans, etc), Obama can't tell them apart. Even though it's technically not his fault, it still came across as a final embarrassment to cap off a particularly humiliating G-20 summit for the US.
Remember the Three Little Pigs? It's a cautionary, child-hood tale about diligence, hard work, and not taking the easy way. Of course because it's an American classic, liberal educators have to make it politically correct....
From FoxNews -- A new version of the story is now popping up in the classroom as part of the the fourth grade reading textbook Storytown: Winning Catch 4. In that book's version, the wolf has a sudden heart attack while trying to blow down the third little pig's adobe house. The three little pigs rush to his aid, save him, and while trying to flee from him once recovered, realize that the whole "huff and puff and blow your house down" thing was a simple "lack of communication": the wolf actually wanted to move in with the pigs and was testing each abode's structural security.
Obviously, only liberal retards would think to do something this stupid. Rational, sane people recognize the value of the story as it was originally written.
The other striking detail in this story is that the Three Little Pigs is being used in the 4th grade. Seriously? Surely American 4th graders are more advanced readers than that. If our 10 year olds are still reading picture books with only small paragraphs of text on each page, then the problem with our dreadful government education system should be apparent to every one.

Jim DeMint: “You can’t be a fiscal conservative and not be a social conservative”
To put his statement in context, he was saying that the frame of mind that makes you a fiscal conservative will most likely make you a social con. as well. But is this statement true in a general sense? What about libertarians? It seems to me that if you, like DeMint claims about himself, are in favor of limited government and oppose on principle the nanny-state, then accepting a government role in modifying behavior of the citizenry, is incongruous at best. Either you are for limited government and the individual right to pursue happiness in any way he or she sees fit, or you are not.
As a libertarian, I don't care of gay folks want to marry each other....nobody has made a bigger mockery of the institution of marriage than we heteros. I think marijuana-use laws should be relaxed. I don't care if a teacher is gay or pregnant and unwed, as long as they are good teachers and don't try to indoctrinate my kid into their lifestyles. I believe that individuals should be able to pursue happiness any way they like, right up to the point that it infringes on somebody else's pursuit of happiness.
DeMint's statement just got me wondering what other people thought. Does your small-government, fiscal conservatism necessarily make you a social conservative as well?
Despite the resounding democrat, midterm defeat, as much a referendum on Nancy Pelosi's dispicableness as Pres. Obama's ineptitude and incompetence, SanFranNan is angling for the #1 leadership role as Minority Leader. Let's hope that democrats are dumb enough to keep her as the face of the democrat party going forward. For republicans heading into 2012, waking up to "minority leader Pelosi" will be like Christmas morning every day.

This dude is naming names in his righteous fight against corruption, entrenched bureaucrats, fraud, waste, and abuse at taxpayer expense. Every state needs a governor like Christie to take on the greedy teachers' unions.
From LATimesBlog -- Possibly the most important event of the vice president's day Tuesday is to meet at 2:15 with Earl Devaney. Everyone knows him as chairman of the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board -- the top guy monitoring the gazillion-dollar stimulus and the overdue economic recovery, and ensuring that the taxpayers who're financing it know all about it.
However, no one outside the room will know what goes on in that Biden-Devaney meeting. That's because the government meeting on government transparency has been closed.
Scheming to hide their motives and agenda from the American people until the last possible minute is the hallmark of the Obama administration. They don't dare tell the truth about what they're doing because they know the voters will revolt. The farcical meeting on transparency being closed-door, without a clue as to the irony of that, is perfectly illustrious of the absurdity of having a ghetto pamphleteer and a half-witted imbecile as President and VP.

From FoxNews -- Implicitly acknowledging the decline of American dominance, Barack Obama on Sunday said the US was no longer in a position to "meet the rest of the world economically on our terms".
With a knowing smirk, Obama bows before Indian Parliament and embarrasses the US for the umpteenth time. He clearly relishes telling other countries about the economic decline of the US, but then he should, he's partially to blame.....trial lawyers, labor unions, the deadbeat class, and Barney Frank, democrats all, share culpability.

And this is Steven Hayes who along with a bumbling accomplice, brutalized all three women while Mr. Petit lay in his own blood, bound in the basement. Then they doused the women with gasoline, having tied them in their beds, and burned them to death. The father managed to escape to call for help but it was too late.
A jury just sentenced Steven Hayes to death for these unspeakable crimes. I hope they don't take 20 years to carry out the sentence. I doubt it'll take that long as he'll probably get killed in prison, I hope as brutally as he killed this family.
I've never wanted to kill anybody but, if I were asked by the state of Connecticut to pull the trigger, throw the switch, push the plunger, or pull the gallows lever, I'd take particular delight in taunting this guy before I did it.
Home invasions are on the rise people....arm yourselves and be careful out there. If a dude with dead eyes like this comes into your home uninvited, double tap him in the heart and put one between his eyes, then ask what he wants.
After a little research, I discovered that India still operates more or less under a caste system in which people from different tribal and socio-economic levels must usually remain there with the lower classes consigned to demeaning jobs. Combine that with the colossal overpopulation and shortage of jobs, and it turns out that members of Parliament actually possess their own human Kleenex dispensers. Who knew?

From FoxSports -- A 1980 ''Miracle on Ice'' Olympic gold medal has been sold at public auction for nearly $311,000.
The medal belonged to Mark Wells, then a 21-year-old center for the U.S. hockey team. He sold the medal this year to a private collector, who consigned it to Heritage Auctions of Dallas.
The sad part is that Mark Wells needed money to pay for medical bills from spinal issues that have kept him mostly bedridden. He sold it to a collector who then put it up for auction and it fetched nearly three times what anybody had predicted.
The other sad but tangential part about this story is that shortly after that unbelievable underdog win, the US started allowing professional sports stars to participate in the Olympics rather than limiting it to amateurs. That gave rise to the absurdly boring Dream Team, and now Olympic sports are mostly no different than watching professional sports, which we can do anytime. There will never be another Miracle on Ice. I'd rather the US remain amateur and lose regularly, but have a chance of greatness like the '80 hockey team, than feign even mild interest in watching our professionals hammer the poor saps from the Ukraine or wherever. That's why I usually tune out the Olympics unless there are true amateurs competing in an obscure discipline like the luge or skeleton. I love those events because they are not professionals and you can die doing them.

Obama can't connect with the American people because he's an incompetent, community agitator who the main-stream media plucked from the anonymity of street-corner pamphleteering in Chicago and a minute or two in the Senate, and installed him in the US Presidency by bamboozling the retarded half of the electorate. His policies are socialist at best, he routinely sneers at the simple minds of regular Americans, and he's obviously driven by a slavish devotion to a Marxist ideology rather than a desire to serve the people.
Heaven forbid we have another Oklahoma City bombing but if we do, Obama won't connect with Americans then either. He'll urge restraint, caution us against a rush to judgement, then apologize for whatever it was that made the bomber mad.
My less than enthusiastic opinion of labor unions is well known to TRR readers. Unions are more or less useless in today's economic climate with all the government oversight and such. That said, it always pleases me when a company that is hamstrung by greedy union thugs and their ridiculous demands for lavish pay and benefits, tells the union where to stick it and leaves the area to set up shop in a right-to-work state.....
The Olin Corp. said Wednesday that it will put its money where its mouth is — in Mississippi.
A day after union workers rejected for a second time a contract that might have saved their jobs, the Metro East company told them it was moving about 1,000 ammunition production jobs from Metro East to Oxford, Miss.
As members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District 9 left the East Alton catering hall where the ballots were tallied Tuesday night, more than a few of the employees ventured that Olin was bluffing.
I'm not enjoying the fact that 1,000 Missourians will lose their jobs, but sudden unemployment is the risk you run by trying to force your employer to pay you more than he thinks you're worth and shower you with absurdly generous benefits to which you aren't entitled.
Labor is like any other commodity. It is subject to the laws of supply, demand, and price as defined by the free market. Any meddling or manipulation of those relationships by collective bargaining is wrong. Unions are bad for the American economy and bad for America.
From FoxNews -- Self-proclaimed tea party leader Michele Bachmann's bid for a top Republican post in the House received a cool reaction Thursday from Speaker-to-be John Boehner, an early test of how GOP leaders will treat the antiestablishment movement's winners in Tuesday's elections.
The GOP needs to be bending way over to kiss some Tea-Party ass right about now. Without constitutional conservatives running against entrenched politicians in both parties and rank-and-file conservatives voting GOP, most of these election wins wouldn't have happened. Boehner's likely snub of Michelle Bachmann may signal a rift in the GOP between the establishment, old-boy network and the new blood that handed them the power they'll soon enjoy.
If popular Tea Party representatives like Bachmann aren't allowed to have positions of responsibility and power within the republican caucus, Tea Party voters will know that they've been played for suckers and may not show up in 2012 as reliable republican votes. Nor should they.
From azcentral -- Surprise police said a boy pulled a knife on his mother who refused to let him go trick-or-treating as a "gay Justin Bieber," the singer and teen idol.
Isn't "gay Justin Bieber" sort of redundant? I'm just asking.
Since you've no doubt seen all the Justin Bieber pictures you care to, here's a helpful picture of what a 12 year old boy brandishing a knife might look like....
In other news, who knew there was a town in Arizona named Surprise? Do all the residents walk around with their eye brows permanently raised and their mouths in the shape of an "O"?

In preparation for Obama's visit, authorities in India have ordered that all coconuts be removed from the coconut trees to eliminate the possibility that one might fall on his head. Seriously.
Is Obama so delicate and fragile that he has to be protected from falling coconuts? What a sissy! I've never seen a head of state, king, or princess be coddled like this. In India, do they still worship Obama as a deity on Earth the way America's stupidest voters did two years ago?
They're also talking about having the US Army erect a 1km long above-ground, air-conditioned, bomb-proof tunnel from Obama's hotel to Ghandi's shrine or somewhere because the only routes are heavily populated and not defensible enough by security.
Hello, it's frickin' India! The whole country is heavily populated! If heavy populations represent an unacceptable security risk to the Obamessiah, why go to India? I swear, every decision this administration makes is wholly unexplainable.
Their relationship has always been apolitical for the most part, or at least politically cordial, so why the bitter resentment? I think democrats are upset with Obama that he hasn't done more and they resent the glee with which Tea Party conservatives seized the election dialogue. They see that the age of Obama is over and their hopes and dreams of a social welfare-state utopia have been dashed once and for all on the jagged rocks of Tea Party conservatism.
Still, you hate to see long-time friendships irreparably harmed by political disagreements.

OK all you pot-addled retards in California, your state is an economic disaster area and you install as Governor, a high-tax, union thug. His brand of leadership is what got you in the mess you're in. He's not going to rein in the quasi-criminal unions in your state or trim the budget, he's going to raise every body's taxes to hand over to them. The producers will continue to flee your state and California will finally crumble completely and become the utter calamity that you've just asked for by electing Brown.
I'd be laughing harder at your self-destructive, abject stupidity but when you inevitably collapse, you'll take the rest of the country with you. Don't be so sure about receiving that federal bailout Arnold's been hinting at. You don't deserve it and I doubt Boehner is in the mood to allow it.

From NYDailyNews -- Three lions proved who's at the top of the food chain when they pulled an inebriated worker who was taunting them into their enclosure and devoured him before his horrified friend, authorities said.
The friend, identified only as "Simon," ran for help and brought back several tourists who were staying in a nearby chalet, but it was too late.
"It was horrific," one of the tourists, Veluchia Hassim told South Africa's News 24 TV. "The one lion was gnawing on his ribs when we got there."
Heh heh, gnawing on his ribs....that's priceless! Here's a helpful picture of the last thing the dude probably saw before Darwin claimed him
Hat tip to Belchspeak for the link.

When the media are willing to go to such means to help their favorite politician get elected, cowardly hiding behind the "we're just reporting the news" charade, a republic cannot long stand, for the democratic process depends on an aggressive and fair media to provide it with information and hold politicians equally accountable. When the media choose sides, it throws the whole system out of whack.
Or you can see how Sarah Palin aptly responded on Chris Wallace's show.....
"Corrupt bastards!" I couldn't agree more.
Exit question: By a show of hands, how many think the main-stream media cover this story and will any, ANY CBS personnel in Alaska be fired for this outrage?
From Yahoo News -- A man gets on his knees next to a car carrying U.S. President Barack Obama as he pulls away from Valois restaurant in Chicago, October 31, 2010.
Politicians should be held in nothing better than contempt by all citizens. They are all smarmy, self-serving degenerates and not one of them deserves anything more than derision and skepticism. They should be tolerated as a necessary evil only as long as they protect and defend the Constitution, keep government small and limited, and stay out of the peoples' personal business. Outside of that, they are useless parasites, sucking at the public teat and should be thrown out of office at the earliest convenience....but never begged or revered by any citizen. This display is just embarrassing. Obama should be embarrassed, but I'll bet he thinks he deserves adoration from this guy.
