“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

GOP to Tea Party..."Get to the back of the bus"

Establishment republicans to Tea Party conservatives in the House, "Thanks for your support suckers, but we'll take it from here"......

From FoxNews -- Self-proclaimed tea party leader Michele Bachmann's bid for a top Republican post in the House received a cool reaction Thursday from Speaker-to-be John Boehner, an early test of how GOP leaders will treat the antiestablishment movement's winners in Tuesday's elections.

The GOP needs to be bending way over to kiss some Tea-Party ass right about now. Without constitutional conservatives running against entrenched politicians in both parties and rank-and-file conservatives voting GOP, most of these election wins wouldn't have happened. Boehner's likely snub of Michelle Bachmann may signal a rift in the GOP between the establishment, old-boy network and the new blood that handed them the power they'll soon enjoy.

If popular Tea Party representatives like Bachmann aren't allowed to have positions of responsibility and power within the republican caucus, Tea Party voters will know that they've been played for suckers and may not show up in 2012 as reliable republican votes. Nor should they.

I love M. Bachman, but the other guy running for the post is a 100% conservative, Jeb Hensarling, who helped an awful lots of conservatives get elected this week, so he is no RINO or anything close to it. Just not as famous as Michelle.

I don't have a problem with Hensarling getting the post. I'm just a little leary of establishment republicans dissing the TPers now that they've gotten our votes....kind of the way democrats treat the blacks who loyally vote for them every election.

Maybe it's because Bachman is not sporting the orange, OOmpa-Loompa tan?

I agree Ed. She should be at least considered and the Tea Party a bone they should receive.

I have come to the conclusion like David that the Tea Party folks who did so much to make this happen deserve a Bachman leadership role. If she's not as much a "DC team player" as the equally admirable Hensarling, too bad. find him another role.

Well Boehner did nominate Kristy Noem from SDakota for a leadership role. I think fresh blood and tea-party excitement at leadership levels breathes new life into the stale, establishment GOP. I supported Bachmann because she's been there and knows the ropes but I'll take Noem just as well.
