what a shame!

Today Jan Ullrich, one of the most famous cyclists in the world, announced his retirememt from professional cycling. He won the '97 Tour de France and never finished lower than 4th in like 10 years of competing. Clearly, but for Lance Armstrong, Jan Ullrich would have probably won most of the races that Lance won(he finished second to Lance 5 times).

For me Jan was the perfect villian to Lance's hero. Lance's dramatic mountain victories in the Tour would not have been nearly as great had Jan not been there pushing him year in and year out.

I'll be sad not watching Jan Ullrich compete in this year's Tour. Lance and Jan Ullrich were my two favorite riders and sadly, there are no larger-than-life personalities in cycling right now. Maybe somebody will step up and there will be a new rivalry to capture our facinations.

Here's all the proof I need

All right all you miserable, Earth-worshipping druids out there who think man's activity is destroying the world...take a look at this easy-to-read graph and then try again to convince me that man has anything at all to do with climate change...

I manage a research lab so I'm comfortable reading and interpreting graphs. This one is about as simple to understand as they come, but for those who were "educated" in government schools, I'll tell you what it very clearly shows...

The three lines refer to sunspot activity, CO2 concentration and global temperature--all over time. Look at the green CO2 line relative to the blue temperature line. They have absolutely nothing to do with each other. In scientifc terms--they are associated. [an association does not imply cause and effect. Chinese people have slanted eyes and Chinese people eat lots of rice. This does not imply that rice consumption causes slanted eyes]

Now take a look at the red sunspot line relative to the blue global temp. line. Why, it's almost as if they are the same line.

I'm shocked, shocked to report that global climate change is closely related to sunspot activity and entirely unrelated to man's CO2 emissions.

There, I think we've pretty much dispelled the man-made global warming myth here at TRR.

Stop the madness!

The self-important and incompetent collection of international thugs and dictators known as the U.N. revealed their plan to control the weather this week...

A group of 18 scientists from 11 countries is calling on the international community to act quickly to prevent catastrophic climate change.

Panel member John Holdren of Harvard University says the world must be mobilized immediately to avoid catastrophe. "Climate change is real, it's already happening, it's already causing harm, it's accelerating and we need to do something about it, and we need to do something about it seriously, starting now. Our specific conclusions are that if the world were to go past the point of an increase above pre-industrial temperatures greater than 2 to 2.5 degrees Celsius, we would be in a regime where the danger of intolerable and unmanageable impacts on well-being would rise very rapidly," he said.

Holdren, however, says even these measure will achieve very little unless they are accompanied by a global tax on greenhouse gas emissions. "We don't think ultimately society will get it right in terms of the full range and scope of activities needed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, until there is an additional incentive in the form of a price on greenhouse gas emissions, either through a carbon tax or a cap and trade approach," he said.

Yep, you read that correctly. The U.S. taxpayers already bankroll the zany adventures of the U.N. Now, they want to grab even more of our wealth in the form of an emissions tax on CO2. Wake up people....everything the U.N. does is an attempt to grab more and more of the U.S.'s wealth. If Bush goes along with this nightmare of an idea, it'll destroy this country's competitiveness and economic dominance. If Hillary gets elected, she'll definitely go along with it.

The druidical cult of environmentalism has gone so far off the deep end, I can't even find words to adequately ridicule it.

The great hoax of our time....man-made global warming

If you want to see for yourself how delusional and loony the global warming crazies are, go on over to Conservation International and calculate your personal contribution to global warming using their handy dandy Personal Carbon Calculator.

I took the test which requires about 2 minutes and supposedly I'm responsible for emitting 1.91 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each year--heh, heh. Predictably, it immediately asked for money.

It told me that I owed $191 dollars in order to purchase some stupid thing called "carbon offsets" in order to make myself carbon neutral.

The entire web site seems designed to make ordinary Americans feel guilty for being alive and on Earth, and then charge you for it. Liberals always make us feel guilty for living our lives so we won't complain too much when they take our money, ostensibly to pay for our transgressions.

The craven hypocricy of the Left

Al Gore, and the mindless Hollywood democrats who belong to the cult of modern environmentalism, have managed to plumb new depths of sanctimony and fraud as they preach to ordinary Americans about sacrifice...

Gore’s mansion, [20-room, eight-bathroom] located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

And this isn't Al and Tipper's only house. They also have a mansion in D.C. and a huge residence somewhere in California. Look, Al Gore is rich beyond belief and he has the right to spend as much as he wants on energy consumption(and from the looks of Prince Al, hamburger consumption too)---good for him. But every other American has the same right.

That Hollywood liberals live in the biggest, most wasteful houses on Earth, fly around daily on private jets, and own dozens of gas-guzzling SUV's, while lecturing us ordinary Americans about how we should sacrifice in our every-day lives, is nauseatingly two-faced.

This is liberalism in a nutshell: the rules are for ordinary Americans, but not for the enlightened class. My loathing of liberalism is like Al Gore's depraved hypocricy...it is virtually limitless.

A natural fit

This seems about right...

Pop superstar Michael Jackson has confirmed his conversion to Islam, according to reports in the Middle East.

The Arab-Israeli newspaper Panorama claims Jackson has announced the move and revealed plans to move to Bahrain, where he has bought property.

The singer's Muslim brother Jermaine yesterday claimed the Thriller hitmaker had taken interest in the religion since he converted in 1989 - and had been considering converting himself following his acquittal on child abuse charges in 2005.

The pasty perv's conversion to the religion of peace presents an interesting conundrum: as soon as he's an official Muslim, won't he be compelled under Islamic law, to cut his own head off for being a homosexual?

Islamabad - Two women in Pakistan have been hacked to death by close relatives who suspected them of flirting with neighbours, in a so-called honour killing, police said on Saturday.

Farida, 18, and Hameeda, 20, were asleep when the men attacked them with axes, smashing their heads, in a village in southern Sindh province on Thursday morning, police officer Ghulam Nabi said.

"The girls were asleep in their home when their four uncles attacked them," Nabi told AFP.

"They suspected the victims had bad character and were flirting with men in the village," Nabi said, adding that two of the attackers had been arrested and police were searching for the other two.

The suspects told police the victims, who were not married, were kari (black women) - a term coined for women branded as morally corrupt and liable to be killed in the name of family honour.

Officials say nearly 5 000 people, mostly women, have been killed in rural areas of Pakistan over the past five years in the name of protecting family honour.

Airhead of the week

Ugly Betty isn't a bad show...too bad the lead character is a bimbo in real life...

As a presenter at Saturday's “Film Independent's Spirit Awards”, actress America Ferrera (IMDb page), the title role star of ABC's Ugly Betty, interjected a bit of political commentary suggesting the U.S. will not be “the land of the free” again until President Bush leaves office. Taking the stage inside a tent on the Santa Monica beach, Ferrera was joined by actor Zach Braff, a star on NBC's Scrubs, to present the award for the “Best First Feature.” In the scripted exchange, Braff asked: “So do you think that you have any traits in common with the country that is your namesake?” Ferrera replied: “I guess I'm a free-spirited person and America's supposedly the 'land of the free,' right?” She then added, to loud applause from the left coast film industry audience: “Or at least we will be in 2008.”

If miss Ferrera had studied a tad more for her immigration test, she would no doubt remember that the new president doesn't take office until the year following the election, or '09.

the littlest victims of global warming

It's no secret that I am a rabid, man-made global warming denier. The hysteria and depths of stupidity of environmental religion cultists boggles the mind. There is nothing, nothing that they won't say to advance their anti-capitalist agenda. With that in mind, look at what the war-on-weather zealots are blaming on global warming now...

Global warming concerns are keeping children awake at night

Half of young children are anxious about the effects of global warming, often losing sleep because of their concern, according to a new report today.

A survey of 1,150 youngsters aged between seven and 11 found that one in four blamed politicians for the problems of climate change.

This is the dumbest thing I've seen all week(and this week had a lot of Anna Nicole, Britney, and Joe Biden) so that's saying something. Kids are as interested in global warming as they are in the McNeil/Lehrer News Hour. 7-11 year olds are losing sleep at night because they're staying awake past their bedtime to watch Jack-Ass, South Park, or Sports Center.

Stern the enabler

Even though the "talent" at FOXNews would argue with me, the death of Anna Nicole does not warrant 24/7 analysis....not when Iran is about to have nukes, the Iraq war rages aimlessly on, aliens continue streaming across the border, and liberal Democrats continue to undermine all that is right and good about the U.S. That being said, I have one thing left to add to this train-wreck of a non-story...Howard K. Stern, in my opinion, needs to be in jail.

He's one of many AnnaNicole dingleberries, but the only one who kept her so hopped up on drugs the she didn't know which way was up. I think he was her drug-pusher in every sense of the word...

-He secured methadone for her during her pregnancy.
-He filmed her in clown make-up during a mushroom trip while pregnant.
-He encouraged her to self-medicate with seriously heavy painkillers and other mind-altering drugs during her pregnancy.
-He kept her away from anybody who might actually have helped her clean up.
-Name a single time we saw her in the last 5 years that she wans't as high as a teenager's cell-phone bill, and each time, who was her constant companion? Stern.

If she died of a drug overdose, and Stern was her willing supplier, how is he not guilty of murder, or at the very least man-1?

To tigers, children are lunch not photo-ops

How many people have to get eaten before humans recognize that 700lb, wild, carnivorous hunters and children shouldn't be put together for pictures?

(Kyodo) _ A tiger kept in a zoo in southwest China's Yunnan Province has bitten to death a 6-year-old girl who was waiting to take a picture with it, state-run Xinhua News Agency reported late Friday.
The report said the incident occurred Thursday at a zoo in Kunming, the provincial capital, when the girl was standing behind the tiger together with her mother and other relatives waiting to take pictures with the big cat.

When a camera flashed, the young male tiger suddenly turned around and attacked the girl, pulling her head into its mouth, witnesses were quoted as saying.

The tiger also reportedly bit the girl's mother on her left hand as she attempted to save her daughter.

By beating the tiger with sticks and wooden stools, animal trainers were able to retrieve the girl about 1 minute later, but an emergency operation at a nearby hospital failed to save her life.

Seriously, what is it going to take for people to realize that TIGERS EAT PEOPLE? Is a stupid photo worth the risk? I guess if you're oriental, and I can say this because I am part Chinese, using your camera trumps all wisdom and judgement. Moreover, the Chinese have way too many people anyway so if tigers eat a few, so what right?

Relax and get your shorts out of a wad....I'm kidding.

When 12-year-old Amos Lutz met Kaspar the Clown at a circus in Leipzig, Germany, he got more than a faceful of water from a fake flower. Amos's mistake was to throw paper confetti at Kaspar - otherwise known as Bernd Kalster, 47 - as he walked by. Clown Bernd Kalster, 47, then punched and kicked helpless Amos to the ground. The clown has now been arrested and charged with causing actual bodily harm. He faces the prospect of six months in prison.

Amos said: ''He really hit me hard and was growling at me behind his smile. I was very frightened. It's not like I threw a stone at him, just some fluffy bits of paper.'

It's a Muslim thing

For those of you who think that run-of-the-mill, every-day Muslims can't easily be radicalized into crazed, blood-thirsty zealots, read this...

A father killed his wife and four daughters in their sleep because he could not bear them adopting a more westernised lifestyle, an inquest heard yesterday.

Mohammed Riaz, 49, found it abhorrent that his eldest daughter wanted to be a fashion designer, and that she and her sisters were likely to reject the Muslim tradition of arranged marriages.

On Halloween last year he sprayed petrol throughout their terraced home in Accrington, Lancs, and set it alight.

Caneze Riaz, 39, woke and tried to protect her three-year-old child, Hannah, who was sleeping with her, but was overcome by fumes. Her other daughters, Sayrah, 16, Sophia, 13, and Alisha, 10, died elsewhere in the house.

Riaz, who had spent the evening drinking, set himself on fire and died two days later.,

I know, I know what you're thinking...."But Ed, all Muslims aren't terrorists". Of course not, but if you think that a lot of those "normal" Muslims running around aren't being taught by their local Imam that Western culture is evil and those who practice it are infidels and deserve death as punishment, then you must be an ignorant Democrat who thinks that talking to them and getting in touch with their feelings will solve all our differences. And you would be dead wrong.

The sky is falling!

The Earth is scheduled to end, and we look to the UN to save us...

By Irene Klotz

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - An asteroid may come uncomfortably close to Earth in 2036 and the United Nations should assume responsibility for a space mission to deflect it, a group of astronauts, engineers and scientists said on Saturday.

Astronomers are monitoring an asteroid named Apophis, which has a 1 in 45,000 chance of striking Earth on April 13, 2036.

What's the incompetent UN going to do...write a harshly worded letter to the asteroid, demanding that it had better not destroy Earth or it'll write more harshly worded letters?

My prediction: The UN will form a panel of nations that will spend millions of US tax-payer dollars studying the asteroid. After a year of studying Apophis in the best restaurants Manhattan has to offer, all paid for by U.S. tax payers, the panel will demand that the U.S. do something to stop the asteroid from hitting Earth. After the Earth is safe from destruction, the U.N. will promptly criticize the U.S. for it's arrogant unilateral action in a harshly worder letter.

Gloria Steinem should be ashamed

What's an obedient follower of the great and benevolent Muhammad and the religion of peace to do when provoked by a harlot who refuses to cover herself?

A Pakistani minister and woman’s activist has been shot dead by an Islamic extremist for refusing to wear the veil.

Zilla Huma Usman, the minister for social welfare in Punjab province and an ally of President Pervez Musharraf, was killed as she was about to deliver a speech to dozens of party activists, by a “fanatic”, who believed that she was dressed inappropriately and that women should not be involved in politics, officials said.

I'd like to know where the gals over at N.O.W. stand on this. They showed their depravity when they stood silently by Bill Clinton as professional women just like them were personally smeared by James Carville for complaining that Bill had raped them. Here we have a successful Muslim woman fighting desperately for women's rights in Pakistan, in exactly the same way as the gals in N.O.W. like to think they did, and she gets murdered for expressing a political opinion and not dressing properly. I wonder if Gloria Steinem would have been so outspoken if the penalty had been certain death...somehow I doubt it.

Are the pathetic, craven bitties over at N.O.W. so politically entrenched with Democrats' love of all things Islamic, that they won't even stand up for one of their own when the religion of peace victimizes her?

At what cost?

Is it just my unsympathetic nature, or are you tired of hearing about back-to-nature, smelly hippie types having to be rescued from freezing mountain tops?

It's winter time, snow storms abound on big mountains, it's life-threateningly cold, snowy mountain hiking is inherently dangerous....so why would a group of people decide to go hiking under those conditions despite the danger?

Because they're stupid...that's why!

Rescue workers, while highly trained and competent, must risk their own lives to find and save these people. And at great cost...a cost borne by tax-payers. Why should tax-payers be obligated to save the stupid from themselves?

I wish just once for the media, breathlessly reporting with high drama about the rescue efforts and interviewing the weeping loved ones, all the while hoping for a body or two, would point out the costs associated with saving these morons from their own stupidity. Each and every one of these hikers should be charged with his share of the costs associated with saving him. If they have the cash, great. If not, they can make payments until their debt is paid off. This should make dumb hikers think twice before heading out in a winter storm to commune with nature.

A silky pony by any other name....

The Breck Girl was just about recovered from the fallout from his stupid bloggers' hateful rants about Catholics and others, when he went and revealed the dirty little secret we conservatives have always known about liberals...that according to them, Israel is the cause of all strife, pain, and misery in the Middle East. Here's how it went down according to Peter Bart of Variety.com...

There are other emerging fissures, as well. The aggressively photogenic John Edwards was cruising along, detailing his litany of liberal causes last week until, during question time, he invoked the "I" word -- Israel. Perhaps the greatest short-term threat to world peace, Edwards remarked, was the possibility that Israel would bomb Iran's nuclear facilities. As a chill descended on the gathering, the Edwards event was brought to a polite close.

Anti-semitic Democrats like Jimmy "the Dhimmi" Carter, and now John Edwards, never blame middle-east waring on terrorists like Hamas, Hezbollah, Arafat, Ahmadinejad, Bin Laden, Al Qaida, or the Palestinians. No, they blame the Israelis...the only functioning Republic in the region that embraces individual freedoms and democracy. Liberal Democrat cowards are so afraid of offending ANY Muslim, that they blame the victims of mid-east terror...the Jews. Israel isn't threatening to wipe Iran off the map.

I swear! That Jews in America continue to vote Democrat defies belief.

Liberals.....mad at nature for destroying herself

There is nothing, nothing that environmental zealots won't blame on selfish Americans...

"American meat eaters are responsible for 1.5 more tons of carbon dioxide per person than vegetarians every year."

So says Brad Knickerbocker, staff writer for The Christian Science Monitor.

"Livestock are one of the most significant contributors to today's most serious environmental problems," Henning Steinfeld, senior author of the report, said when the FAO findings were released in November.

Livestock are responsible for 18 percent of greenhouse-gas emissions as measured in carbon dioxide equivalent, reports the FAO. This includes 9 percent of all CO2 emissions, 37 percent of methane, and 65 percent of nitrous oxide. Altogether, that's more than the emissions caused by transportation.

The latter two gases are particularly troubling – even though they represent far smaller concentrations in atmosphere than CO2, which remains the main global warming culprit. But methane has 23 times the global warming potential (GWP) of CO2 and nitrous oxide has 296 times the warming potential of carbon dioxide.

Craven, wretched liberals want to tax ALL human activity in one form or another anyway, so as long as they can maintain world-wide hysteria about the myth that is man-made global warming, why not tax everything that they deem contributory to it? Coming soon to your town...a methane tax on all beef consumption.

You think I'm joking? Just you wait.

Thugs will always be thugs

I know these two stories are making headlines but seriously, is it all that surprising?

First there's this...

---Violence marred post-NBA All-Star Game partying as shootings left three people in critical condition and stamped an ugly footnote on what should have been a time of celebration.
Police arrested 362 people during the All-Star Game weekend as scattered fights broke out along the main casino strip early Monday even though police had braced themselves for the post-celebratory mayhem.

and then there's this...

---NEW ORLEANS (Reuters) - New Orleans, the "Big Easy" city famous for its good times and relaxed attitude, has become the Big Uneasy in recent weeks as its murder count has soared and anger grown at local leaders unable to stop the violence.

Annual Mardi Gras celebrations unfolded without incident this weekend, but fear of the rampant blood-spilling and its threat to the city's recovery from Hurricane Katrina are constant topics of conversation.

The homicide total for a still-young 2007 climbed to 27 on Saturday with the dead of a man shot at a nightclub on Friday.

He was one of nine people shot in separate incidents in a seven-hour span on Thursday and Friday, and the third of them to die.

I don't think a month goes by that an NBA player isn't shot at, or shoots at somebody in a strip-club, or there's a drive-by where rappers and NBA players are in the area. Everybody knows the rap/hip-hop gangsta' community associates itself with the NBA, and many NBA players associate themselves with the rap crowd. It's a hood thing no matter how rich they become.

New Orleans is crime-ridden because that's what happens when you mix crooked, incompetent city leaders and cops on the take, with lazy, unemployed, government handout criminals. N.O. was ridden with violent crime before Katrina, and then the crime wave traveled with the displaced N.O. residents to Houston (not a coincidence). And surprise....when they returned to the Big Easy, the crime wave returned with them.

Any first year sociology student could have predicted both of these situations. Of course liberals will blame black disenfranchizement, not enough government handouts, the minimum wage, anything besides a total lack of personal responsibility. But how do the same liberals justify the rich NBA players and rich rappers behaving badly?

Answer: You can take the criminal out of the hood, but.......

Down the Potty

Recently, this country has taken another step towards its demise. Rebbecca Arnold and David Prata, a non-married live together couple, were arrested for having sex in front of Ms. Arnold's 9 year old daughter. Their statement was that they did not ask her to leave or force her to stay, but hoped she would learn about sex from this . How disturbing is that? The couple are luckily facing charges, and if convicted can and will lose any custody rights to this child.

Every day we are confronted with some type of lewd and lascivious behavior. It seems that every news maker is trying to out gross the last, with an ultimate goal of complete depravity. The sad part about this is that we as Americans are allowing this to happen around us. I understand that we cannot regulate what goes on in all homes, and probably shouldn't. Alas, I wonder how many odd or devious tendencies these people portrayed in the daily lives that might have been noticed to have hopefully prevented this tragic act from happening and then be repeated. I wonder how much money this little girl will spend in therapy undoing the harm this has done.

Our media is focused on Brittany's baldness (She now sports a wig), on Cameron and Justin getting together again, on Anna Nicole and that morass. We do not ever see or hear about positive role models for the younger population. We do not have media influences that emit high moral standing, and law abiding ways. We mostly do not have people that stand up for those good and admirable qualities.

As adults, it is our responsibility to leave the country better than when we took our turn in the saddle. Right now it appears that our turn may be the last attempt for any type of decency to be regrown. Our leaders are not men of high conviction towards altruism and advancement for the country. Our famous people/leaders are drug laden sex craving maniacs with only self interests at heart. I hope each of us can take a step to keep us out of the deep abyss we are rapidly slipping towards. Rome did not fall in 1 day, it just started going down faster and faster until it was so bad and so wrong it couldn't be stopped. Who will our Nero be? Lets hope we as a generation postpone that for a while.

WAKE UP AMERICA WE ARE IN THE TOILET. SOON IT WILL BE FLUSHED.

Ellison's first impression to Congress.....JERK!!!

America's first Muslim Congressman made a heck of a first impression on his neighbor, Tom Tancredo...

Ellison’s office called the Capitol Hill Police on Tancredo last Wednesday night as Tancredo was in his office smoking a cigar. The lawmakers have neighboring offices on the first floor of the Longworth House Office Building.

Tancredo was still stunned a day later. “It’s very bizarre,” said Tancredo, who has never met Ellison. “Seemed to me not a good way to say hello.”

Is smoking a cigar against the Muslim version of the 10 commandments? Maybe Rep. Ellison found it hidden between the commandments, " Thou shalt slay all infidels indiscriminately", and "Thou shalt feel free to rape infidel women if provoked".

Dumb celebrity of the week

Is it possible that the artist formerly known as John Cougar is the stupidest celebrity yet? And why did Charlie Rose feel compelled to interview him about his views on American foreign policy? Why ask a vapid, clueless celebrity about foreign policy, PERIOD? Here's a partial transcript I borrowed from RWN...

Charlie Rose: So, After 9/11 what was inappropriate for you...

John Cougar Mellencamp: It was inappropriate from the beginning.

Charlie Rose: Afghanistan was inappropriate?

John Cougar Mellencamp: Everything was inappropriate.

Charlie Rose: If we knew where Osama Bin Laden was, to have bombed his hideout would have been inappropriate?

John Cougar Mellencamp: Yes.

Charlie Rose: What would have been appropriate? Turn the other cheek?

John Cougar Mellencamp: No, I don't think so. I think what would be appropriate is exactly what we're going to have to do right now?

Charlie Rose: Talk?

John Cougar Mellencamp: Go talk to people. Go talk to people.

I'll paraphrase some other snipits of stupidity from what I can remember about his interview...

When asked about Pearl Harbor he said something like, "I don't have enough information." and "I've read history books but I don't really know if it was right."

About Osama bin Laden after 9/11 he said that, "We should call him up and ask why are we so far apart on this thing".

JCM might possibly be the stupidest celebrity I've ridiculed on this blog. You could take his intellect and $7.00 and buy a tuna salad sandwich at the airport.

Wednesday: Freezing rain in the morning. Total ice accumulation between one half to three quarters of an inch. Brisk with highs in the mid 30s. North winds 10 to 15 mph...increasing to northwest 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows around 18. Northwest winds around 20 mph.

If Al Gore would start terrifying America's small children and dumb liberals with dire warnings about global freezing then somebody might actually listen to him.

I'm officially a fan of Czech president Klaus

I was checking out Drudge this morning and this article regarding an interview about the global warming hysteria with Czech Republic president Vaclav Klaus caught my eye. I can only wish that in this country, we had a Republican willing to take on the environmental crazies like this guy. Here's an excerpt for your reading enjoyment...

Q: How do you explain that conservative media are skeptical while the left-wing media view the global warming as a done deal?•

A: It is not quite exactly divided to the left-wingers and right-wingers. Nevertheless it's obvious that environmentalism is a new incarnation of modern leftism.•

Q: If you look at all these things, even if you were right ...•

A: ...I am right...•

Q: Isn't there enough empirical evidence and facts we can see with our eyes that imply that Man is demolishing the planet and himself?•

A: It's such a nonsense that I have probably not heard a bigger nonsense yet.•

Q: Don't you believe that we're ruining our planet?•

A: I will pretend that I haven't heard you. Perhaps only Mr Al Gore may be saying something along these lines: a sane person can't.

I LOVE THIS GUY!!!

Why do we have to go to a former Soviet-bloc state, half way around the world to find a politician with the guts to take on the zany religion of modern environmentalism, and who would dare commit heresy and criticize the high priest of environmental moonbattery...Al Gore?

Helmet laws

I was over on Endless Cycle this morning and Jim had an interesting discussion going on about helmet laws for cyclists, the idiotic proposed law in New York restricting electronic devices for pedestrians, and the larger issue of how responsible are we for our own safety. If you are interested in getting in on it, head on over and check it out.

There are some really good cycling links there as well if you're into that like I am.

Minimum wage vindication

For months I've been showing how raising the minimum wage is a political ploy by Democrats to make themselves appear to be compassionate and caring for poor people, but...

Chad Graham
The Arizona Republic
Feb. 10, 2007 12:00 AM

Oh, for the days when Arizona's high school students could roll pizza dough, sweep up sticky floors in theaters or scoop ice cream without worrying about ballot initiatives affecting their earning power.

That's certainly not the case under the state's new minimum-wage law that went into effect last month.

Some Valley employers, especially those in the food industry, say payroll budgets have risen so much that they're cutting hours, instituting hiring freezes and laying off employees. advertisement

And teens are among the first workers to go.

Why, it's almost as if what I've been saying (that increasing the minimum wage costs young workers their jobs) was right all along.

Karl Rove exposed

Some misguided readers of this blog have accused me of being a mindless, neo-conservative, Bush-bot. Rather than arguing, yet again, with the usual points, I offer this ridiculous and telling statement from Karl Rove as illustrative of why I can't stomach Bush, Rove, neo-conservatism, and the idiotic idea of compassionate conservatism...

According to a congressman's wife who attended a Republican women's luncheon yesterday, Karl Rove explained the rationale behind the president's amnesty/open-borders proposal this way: "I don't want my 17-year-old son to have to pick tomatoes or make beds in Las Vegas."

Thanks a lot Karl. In one stupid statement, you've validated Bush's phony idea that there are jobs that Americans won't do, and confirmed to liberals that conservatives are all rich, white snobs like you. Of course nobody aspires for their children to make careers of tomato picking or Vegas bed-making but, the idea that any honest job is beneath any American flies in the face of everything that made this country the greatest Republic on Earth...hard, honest work, responsibility, diligence, pride in effort, character and value in manual labor.

I've tried to instill in my kids that even honest employment refilling condom machines at the interstate truckstop is preferable to sitting on one's butt, receiving checks from the government. There is nothing shameful about working for a wage, I don't care what you are doing. There is only shame in shiftless loafing. All jobs have value to those who perform them, no matter how unpleasant or beneath us they seem.

Rove's snooty statement infuriates me, and it clarifies the differences between the current crop of elitist-minded Republicans and my own ideals. It also demonstrates why the Bush administration will not defend this country against foreign invaders...they and their silver-spoon, lucky sperm-club offspring are too good to pick tomatoes or work in a domestic capacity...UNBELIEVABLE!

Unless one of the current pack of elitist, mainstream Republicans separates himself by promising to close the southern border, I will certainly vote Libertarian or not vote for President at all.

It's always the evil Jooooos' fault

I'm shocked, shocked to hear that Palestinian youths attacked Jewish construction workers with rocks, sticks, and Molotov cocktails near a dusputed mosque-compound in the Old City part of Jerusalem...

The excavations, which began on Tuesday, are a prelude to the construction of a new walkway leading to the compound.

Israeli authorities say the work is needed after a centuries-old walkway partially collapsed in 2004.

Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev said the works posed no threat to the mosque, about 60m (200ft) away.

All the eeeeevil Joooooos were trying to do is build a new safe walkway near the mosque, and the crazed, Jew-hating Muslims start rioting. Why, it's almost as if the Palestinian youths don't really need a reason to attack Jews, other than they are Jews.

Moonbattery at work

Only Norwegian enviro-moonbats could come up with something this stupid on which to spend their Krones...

WITHIN a large concrete room, hewn out of a mountain on a freezing-cold island just 1000 kilometres from the North Pole, could lie the future of humanity.

The room is a "doomsday vault" designed to hold around 2 million seeds, representing all known varieties of the world's crops. It is being built to safeguard the world's food supply against nuclear war, climate change, terrorism, rising sea levels, earthquakes and the ensuing collapse of electricity supplies. "If the worst came to the worst, this would allow the world to reconstruct agriculture on this planet," says Cary Fowler, director of the Global Crop Diversity Trust, an independent international organisation promoting the project.

New Scientist has learned that the Norwegian government is planning to create the seed bank next year at the behest of crop scientists. The $3 million vault will be built deep inside a sandstone mountain lined with permafrost on the Norwegian Arctic island of Spitsbergen. The vault will have metre-thick walls of reinforced concrete and will be protected behind two airlocks and high-security blast-proof doors. It will not be permanently manned, but "the mountains are patrolled by polar bears", says Fowler.

So the Scandinavians bury millions of seeds to protect the world from the futuristic, imaginary threats of tomorrow, while colonization by radical Muslims threatens them today...go figure!

Anna Nicole--RIP

Unless you are the Unabomber-II and living in a shack in Montana, no doubt you've heard about the passing of Anna Nicole Smith.

I was watching the coverage last night and thinking about why we are so obsessed by self-destructive people like her. I watched her reality show a few times and I remember, observing her life was like watching a slow-motion train wreck. I was horrified but for some reason I couldn't look away.

Anyway, in glimpses of her few moments of unmedicated sobriety, she seemed like a genuinely nice person. She would probably want to be rememberd like that, not the way we saw her in the tabloids every week. Sadly, her daughter probably doesn't stand a chance, since there are people already fighting over her to get to the money.

What's good for the goose, is good for the gander

File this under the label of "rich irony"...

By Bianca Prieto And Stuart Steers, Rocky Mountain News
February 8, 2007
Black community leaders and officers are decrying the Denver police chief's decision to pass over a highly qualified black commander for a top leadership position.

So the diversity shoe is on the other foot and the black community doesn't like it.

Chief Gerry Whitman told officers Tuesday that he plans to promote District 1 Cmdr. David Quinones to division chief of special operations on Feb. 12.

Several leaders in Denver's black community said Wednesday they were stunned Keesee was not chosen for the division chief job.

They were stunned, stunned I say. I guess race quotas and diversity sensitivity are good only when a white guy is getting passed over in favor of a black guy, but bad when a black is getting passed over for a Hispanic.

Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper defended the chief's choice, saying both Quinones and Keesee were well qualified.

"You appoint the best person you can find," said Hickenlooper. "For this particular job, who has the right skill set?"

Who knew that ability and qualifications play a role in promotions and not just skin color?

Manager of Safety Al LaCabe said Wednesday night that other citizens who participated in the advisory process "feel that their input was very much respected."

LaCabe, who is black, pointed out that the decision to promote Quinones allows a Hispanic officer to rise into leadership.

"You can't reach the conclusion there's no commitment to diversity because one appointment disappoints people," LaCabe said.

The Black Police Officers association called the decision "a travesty."

Why, it's almost as if promoting a person regardless of ability, but because of race is unfair to everybody involved. Who knew?

It's always the cop's fault

Remember the riots in France last summer, perpertrated by perptually outraged Muslims? Well France, ever the dhimmi state, is trying to rail-road the two police officers who chased these two fleeing Muslim youths into a power plant where they were, surprise, electrocuted.

Click here to read the article on the BBCNews website.

Notice how the word Muslim is never mentioned, only ethnic minority french youths. No matter how percipitously close to societal disaster France creeps, they continue to blindly embrace multiculturalism even as it kills their culture and country.

iPods are a public menace in New York

Did you hear about this bit of nanny-state idiocy?

A New York state Senator is proposing a law to make it illegal to walk, jog or bike across the street while using an iPod, a BlackBerry or any other electronic device.

State Senator Carl Kruger said: “If you’re so involved in your electronic device that you can’t see or hear a car coming, this is indicative of a larger problem that requires some sort of enforcement beyond the applicaton of common sense."

If you're too stupid to look before crossing the street, then I'm sorry, but you deserve to be flattened by a produce truck. It's not the role of government to legislate how people pursue happiness, as long as it doesn't hinder the pursuit of happiness of others.

"But Ed", you whine,"this is a public safety issue. It's for our own good that we are restricted from activities that endanger us."

Show me in the Constitution where restricting otherwise lawful entertainment is a proper function of government, at any level, federal, state, or local. Millions of Americans are perfectly capable of crossing the street while doing any number of other things, reading, talking, IMing, texting, or listening to an iPod. Just because one idiot gets himself killed, we all should be restriced?

For crying out loud!

Pelosi's Pentagon slap-down

SanFranNan is blaming the Bush administration for the pentagon's refusal to give her unlimited access to a military plane almost the size of Air Force One. Denny Hastert got a plane on which to travel to Illinois, but it only held 12 passengers and there were strict regulations on who could fly on it. Pelosi wants to be able to fly non-stop to California with family, support staff, other representatives from Ca., constituents, and who knows who else? The cost of her using the bigger plane is like $15,000/hour or over $300,000 each round trip...all at tax-payer expense. The pentagon refused, saying that she could use the same small commuter jet that Denny Hastert used when he was Speaker. It costs the American tax-payers a fraction of the operational costs of the larger plane. In addition, like Hastert, her family and friends have to pay for a coach seat if they want to fly with her.

I don't have a problem with tax-payers getting hit up for the Speaker to use a military aircraft...post 9/11 it's kind of a security thing. But the Speaker doesn't need the equivalent of Air Force One to use. Besides, as a multiculturalist Democrat, Nancy's doing more to advance the cause of Islamification here in America than they could ever hope to. So they don't represent a security threat to her anyway.

Queen Nancy thinks that as the most powerful woman on Earth, she deserves all the perks and privileges that go with that status. Somebody needs to ask her about her contribution to global warming that jetting back and forth to California represents. What about her conspicuous consumption of biofuels she lectures all us little people with our SUV's about?

One good thing about France

It's time once again to start thinking about the Tour and I don't care that Floyd Landis disgraced his team and his country by doping (alledged).

PARIS - The French anti-doping agency postponed a decision Thursday on whether to suspend Tour de France winner Floyd Landis because of a positive doping test after he agreed not to race in the country this year.

The AFLD had been expected to rule, but agreed to an appeal by Landis to postpone their decision until after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency rules in May, AFLD president Pierre Bordry said. The AFLD will resume its discussion of the case in late June.

The decision came after Landis pledged not to race in France in 2007, Bordry said in a statement he read to reporters in Paris.

Look, even my enthusiasm was dampened by the doping scandal that rocked the field before last year's Tour. Then when it came to light that champion Floyd Landis had tested positive, it was even more a let down. That being said, I am still looking forward to the '07 Tour de France. Hopefully they can put all this behind them and have a competitive, clean race.

I know most of you think that bike racing is geeky, but what you don't realize, is that I don't care what you think.

While Rome burns...

Is it just me or are you sick of this diapered astronaut story already. Look, if she performed her mission in space perfectly, which I believe she did, then what do we care if she was involved in an imaginary love triangle? The non-stop, wall-to-wall coverage of this story is maddening. I was just watching Greta VanSustern on FOX News, and she had guys camped out on this woman's lawn in Houston. Why? What could the media possibly learn by invading this woman's yard. The serious news media have become the paparazzi....and it infuriates me.

While most of America is agog over this stupid non-story, the border with Mexico remains open while thousands of criminals stream across in anticipation of an amnesty deal between Bush and the Democrats. In addition, the jihadists continue to plan our downfall in ways that would horrify us. Two of the three members of the axis of evil claim to have nukes. And nobody is asking Hillary hard questions.

All of this very serious stuff is happening to threaten our life and liberty, and we stupidly sit in front of the idiot box, transfixed by the story of a love-struck astronaut in diapers plotting the murder of her "rival".

I DON'T CARE!!!

They say there are certain traits that set the human species apart from all other animal species. Here's one: No other species in the history of life on Earth takes such pleasure in the misery of other members of their species like humans. I'm sick of Natalie Holloway. I'm sick of the Duke rape case. And I'm sick of Greta Van Sustern delving into the childhood of this astronaut to see if there were some tell-tale signs that foretold her current behavior.

FOX News has become part news organization and part Jerry Springer episode. The more salacious and perverted the story, the more coverage it gets. I can't watch this crap anymore!

Keeping an eye on the moonbats

Those wacky wingnuts over at TheDailyKos are at it again. This poll looks ridiculous until you realize that the people answering the poll are the Dem base....these idiots will determine who gets the Dem nomination...

Poll
Who is currently your favorite 2008 candidate?

Kucinich 4% 1181 votes

Obama 25% 6487 votes

Gravel 0% 120 votes

Richardson 6% 1695 votes

Clinton 4% 1080 votes

Clark 14% 3699 votes

Biden 0% 179 votes

Dodd 0% 119 votes

Vilsack 1% 316 votes

Edwards 26% 6714 votes

Other 8% 2067 votes

No Freakin' Clue 6% 1558 votes

And then there are the comments from breathless moonbats whose hearts are atwitter at the prospect of a Gore candidacy...

Moonbat #1 I'd put my life on hold if he ran.
I'd give him everything I have.

Moonbat #2 I think there are a lot of non-political people who would give Gore serious consideration this time. I think he would unite the country like no one else could. Please Al, get into the race!

Gore-Obama '08

The nutty democrat base obviously doesn't like Hillary. Instead, they like the Breck Girl and a light-weight who has been in politics for 20 months. Maybe all hope is not lost.

Frogs belong on my dissection microscope...not the flight line

I spent 16 years in the Georgia Air National Guard before I retired. I was in aircraft maintenance and worked as a weapons loader. The single greatest danger to both humans and the aircraft on the flightline is the jet's intake. With the engine winding up, it can literally pick up a wrench(or a person) off the ground and suck it into the turbines, destroying the engine. This damage is called "foreign object damage" or FOD. After every job performed on an aircraft, we had to do a tool inventory and a "FOD walk" to make sure the flight line was clean of any potential foreign objects. No matter what your rank, your were not exempt from FOD walks. That's how serious the flying community takes this threat to combat readiness. Having said that, I was shocked to read about these two morons...

I found this article from Stars and Stripes over on RightThinking

Two airmen — including one who pleaded guilty to trying to throw a frog into a running jet engine — were punished in separate courts-martial at Kunsan Air Base, officials there confirmed Tuesday.

These guys should get drummed out of the service altogether and maybe even serve hard time busting rocks at Ft. Leavenworth.

The tyranny of the minority

Once again, political correctness has ruined the fun for everybody...

This Snickers ad aired during the Super Bowl sparked complaints of homophobia that have resulted in the commercial being pulled.

"This type of jeering from professional sports figures at the sight of two men kissing fuels the kind of anti-gay bullying that haunts countless gay and lesbian school children on playgrounds all across the country," Human Rights Campaign president Joe Solmonese said in a statement.

GLAAD spokesman Marc McCarthy said Tuesday the group believed "this kind of prejudice was inexcusable."

Seriously, is there a more humorless demographic than the gays? I swear!

Apparently, rehab cures all ills

To liberals, there is no such thing as a bad person....only excuses for bad behavior...

Days after admitting, and apologizing for having an affair with the wife of a member of his staff, San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom now says he's seeking treatment for alcohol abuse. (Feb. 6)

I swear...what in the world does alcohol abuse have to do with marital infidelity? Drinking too much doesn't make you cheat with your best friend's wife any more than it makes you a molestor of congressional pages. I don't care how much you drink, if you aren't a gay child molestor already, you won't turn into one whenever you drink....and you don't have 18month affairs with your best friend's wife.

It's almost as if just being a cheater isn't enough for liberals, you have to have some other dramatic life-failure, that explains your cheating, for them to feel like you can be rehabilitated. Because liberals love rehab stories...it facilitates their smug superiority.

What is it about our sick society that we love watching the high and mighty groveling in their own miserable failures?

Thanks Jimmeh!

The jihadistic fantasy in which Iran's President lives, and which controls his ambitions, could have been predicted 28 years ago during the end of the Carter presidency...

"Giant achievements" by Iran will be unveiled by its president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in the coming days, the Iranian Fars news agency reported on Saturday.

The Iranian news agency said an upcoming dramatic announcement on Iran's nuclear "rights" would be made on February 11. The report was accompanied by a series of announcements heralding alleged Iranian technological and medical breakthroughs, including an "AIDS cure."

Ahmadinejad's "administration is going to publicize the country's remarkable progresses and achievements within the coming days," the Fars news agency said.

"The Iranian president also reiterated that February 11 is the day when the Iranian nation's inalienable right to access and use nuclear technology will be established," the agency added.

"The Iranian nation will celebrate stabilization and establishment of its nuclear rights during the Ten-Day Dawn, (sic)" Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying. The "ten-day dawn" in early February marks the date of the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979.

Of course we have Jimmy "the dhimmi" Carter to thank for that. His pulling the persian rug out from under the Shah of Iran, and the subsequent rise of the Ayatollah, marked the beginning of radical Islam's hatred of America as the Great Satan.

You can blame Jamie Gorelick directly for 9/11 in the short term. You can blame Jimmy Carter for 9/11 in the long term.
9/11 marked the natural, predictable culmination of the war between Western and Muslim civilizations that started when Jimmeh allowed the radicals to take over in Iran. Jamie Gorelick and the Clinton's were responsible for the communications wall between the CIA and FBI that would have easily prevented it.

And Hillary wants to be President....heaven help us!

What global warming?

Man, we could sure use a little bit of that "man-made global warming" Al Gore is running around scaring everybody with.

Click on the map to enlarge, and see how cold it is around the country today.

Super Coaches

Lovie Smith is now the answer to a trivia question. Who is the first black head coach, to coach a losing team in a Super Bowl? He will be the other part to the question, "Who is the first white coach to lose a Super Bowl? I never would have stated that, but during the post game intervies our elite group of moronic neer-do-weels (better known as the press) decided that Tony Dungy must be asked how he felt being bthe first Black head coach to win. His eloquent answer should suffice for all people."It feels great to win, but if it weren't for supportive people I wouldn't have had this chance." Good answer. Tony is a good guy, a good coach, and a good role model for us all. Humble and kind. I respect this man. I wonder why no one has asked him if he wishes his son were there to enjoy the ride? This guy has had a lot to deal with in the past year or so, lets just let him enjoy his time in the sun. As we all know, it will be all to flleting, and the media crosshairs will be aimed at him very soon, again.
As for Lovie, well this blogger feels that his team overacheived. He should be congratulated for the accomplishment, and given an opportunity to help better this storied franchise. Maybe their best years are still yet to come. He seems to be able to grasp the players needs, while managing to appease the owners and their needs as well. I don't think race has anything to do with character. He is and will be a winner. I tip my hat to him, and to Tony Dungy, neither man allowed the Super Bowl story this year to be trivilaized by color. They did their job. Wish the reporters could now do theirs, but do it without trying to rive any wedge available int the meat of a story. Two classy gentlemen. If only the media could follow suit.
By the way Hank Stram of the Kansas City Chiefs is the other trivia answer. Lovie and Hank will be forever linked in liberal media trivia. I hope I don't live long enough to hear the question asked.

With a conserative like Bush in office....who needs a liberal?

In case you were still wondering how the Democrats took control of Congress, look no further than Bush's new budget plan.

Conservative voters favor candidates who advance the concepts of small, limited government, budget cutting, low spending, low taxes, and a strong military. The only one of those tenents Bush has embraced is the maintenance of a strong military. He has yet to curb discretionary spending with his veto pen. By contrast, Ronald Reagan vetoed 20 spending bills that Congress sent across his desk in just his first 3 years. Bush's $2.9trillion budget is worse than any budget Bill Clinton could imagine.

With the Iraq war going badly, Bush's free-wheeling money management is hand-delivering the Presidency to the Democrats, who will then control two of the three branches of government.

The bar is too high

Was it just me, or were you underwhelmed by the SuperBowl commercials this year?

My favorite was the Bud Light ad feathuring the guy teaching the immigrant cabbies how to ask for a BudLight. They are taught that when somebody asks them for a BudLight, they are to say, "No speak Engrish".

That's rich!!!

My wife's favorite was the Dorito's commercial in the first segment after the kick-off. In case you didn't know, Dorito's offered fabulous cash and prizes for the best amateur-produced ad. I think this guy and his wife made this one in an afternoon with their cam-corder, Mac computer, and like $25. When his wife runs up to the car, trips, and smashes her head into the car door....that really happened. They had written it another way but when that happened they decided to keep it. At the end of the ad when she's looking up and rubbing her head, that's because she really hammered into the car door.

That it was real and unscripted made that one of my fav's also.

I'd like to hear what your favorite SB ads were.

French bashing is about to be en vogue again

Besides surrendering in wars, acting snooty to tourists, and handing their country over to their Muslim masters, the French can always be counted on to do what they do best....levy taxes...

France Tells U.S. to Sign Climate Pacts or Face Tax

By KATRIN BENNHOLD
PARIS, Jan. 31 — President Jacques Chirac has demanded that the United States sign both the Kyoto climate protocol and a future agreement that will take effect when the Kyoto accord runs out in 2012.

He said that he welcomed last week’s State of the Union address in which President Bush described climate change as a “serious challenge” and acknowledged that a growing number of American politicians now favor emissions cuts.

But he warned that if the United States did not sign the agreements, a carbon tax across Europe on imports from nations that have not signed the Kyoto treaty could be imposed to try to force compliance. The European Union is the largest export market for American goods.

“A carbon tax is inevitable,” Mr. Chirac said. “If it is European, and I believe it will be European, then it will all the same have a certain influence because it means that all the countries that do not accept the minimum obligations will be obliged to pay.”

I wonder how his wine and cheese producers will feel when the U.S. hikes the price of those goods up by 50% in retaliation. Carbon tax or not, France is a dying country and will be the first old-Europe country to fall under Muslim-Sharia law. Then, CO2 emissions in the U.S. will be the least of their problems.

In France, we are literally watching before our very eyes, a moribund culture willingly commit suicide with political correctness, socialism, and dhimmitude before their Muslim colonizers.

The dreaded Amazon "toothpick" fish

I came across a nature story over at damninteresting.com, and I felt actual sympathetic pain while I read it.
Briefly, there is this tiny toothpick-sized carnivorous fish in the Amazon River whose attack method is horrifying. It tastes, and follows, the urea stream found in the waste of a larger fish breathing out through it's gills. It strikes with lightening quickness, burying itself in the urea source, where it sticks out sharp anchoring prongs and then proceeds to bite into the wall of an artery or vein and gorges itself on the blood of the host animal.

Given that humans expel their urea through liquid waste, imagine you are a native, swimming in the Amazon and you need to tinkle....I'll let your imagination take it from there.

OOOOOUUUUUCH!!!

It's all America's fault

I'll give you three guesses to name the culprit found to be the cause of global climate change in the IPCC report on global warming...and the first two guesses don't count...

PARIS — Scientists from 113 countries issued a landmark report Friday saying they have little doubt global warming is caused by man, and predicting that hotter temperatures and rises in sea level will "continue for centuries" no matter how much humans control their pollution.

A top U.S. government scientist, Susan Solomon, said "there can be no question that the increase in greenhouse gases are dominated by human activities."

Environmental campaigners urged the United States and other industrial nations to significantly cut their emissions of greenhouse gases in response to the long-awaited report by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Naturally, when a UN sponsored commission to find blame for an imagined global catastrophe points the finger at "man", they mean "the United States". After all, the U.S. has wealth, natural resources, a healthy capitalistic economy, opportunities and economic freedoms for individuals only dreamt of elsewhere, a powerful military, a constitutional republic form of government which places the emphasis on the individual not the State, low unemployment and low inflation, and a high standard of living, even for our poor, which is unrivaled anywhere.

The dictator-loving, terrorist-appeasing collection of anti-Semites that make up the majority of the U.N. don't want to make their dirtbag nations as good as ours because that would mean giving away their personal political power and access to their nation's treasure. No, they want to force the U.S. to hobble ourselves economically so that we end up like them. They can't defeat us militarily or economically so they use political correctness and our dumb liberals are happy to comply.

America-hating liberals....I swear!

Busted!

I don't know how many of you watch American Idol, but last night there was this old man who came in to sing. I'll paraphrase how it went down...

Simon: How old are you?
Man:64
Simon:What are you doing here?
Man: My wife and I are big fans of the show and she came down with cancer a few months ago. She died two days ago and I'd like to sing her a song if I may.
Simon(clearly blown away): Of course.

Well, not only was it a beautiful and touching song but the old coot could flat out sing. The whole panel of judges was crying and my wife even caught me in a moment of misty-eyedness.

Seriously, if you watched that and didn't well up...you are stone cold dead inside.

Hate America....get a prize

The Nobel Peace prize is traditionally reserved for loathsome, anti-Semites like Jimmy Carter, terrorist appeasers like Mohamed ElBaradei of the IAEA, or actual terrorists like Yasser Arafat. Judging by this news, now simply hating the U.S. qualifies one to be nominated...

OSLO, Norway (AP) -- Former Vice President Al Gore was nominated for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for his wide-reaching efforts to draw the world's attention to the dangers of global warming, a Norwegian lawmaker said Thursday.
"A prerequisite for winning the Nobel Peace Prize is making a difference, and Al Gore has made a difference," Conservative Member of Parliament Boerge Brende, a former minister of environment and then of trade, told The Associated Press.

Brende said he joined political opponent Heidi Soerensen of the Socialist Left Party to nominate Gore as well as Canadian Inuit activist Sheila Watt-Cloutier before the nomination deadline expired Thursday.

It would be amusing to watch Al Gore comically basking in the world-wide, man-made global warming hysteria that he whipped into a frenzy, if his aims weren't so blatantly anti-capitalist and anti-American. Like all America-hating leftist wackos, Al Gore sees the U.S. as the source of all evil in the modern world. To mitigate the "damage" our country afflicts on Mother Earth, Al would cripple America's economy with punitive CO2 emissions limits, effectively rendering us non-competitive--which, fulfills every liberal's secret utopian fantasy---all the world's people, equal in misery.
