“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Putin leverages his space-travel monopoly

Alert reader David sent this in: "On Monday, the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) announced plans to move survival training for all Soyuz passengers to a Russian naval base in Sevastopol, Crimea."

Vlad Putin brilliantly played his monopoly on space travel card. If nations with space programs want to access the ISS, their astronauts must pass splash-down survival school run by the Russians since only they are currently transporting people to the space station.

Sending astronauts to the Crimea for training amounts to de-facto acceptance of Russian "annexation" of Crimea from the Ukraine. If countries like the US, Canada, Japan, Germany, etc want to go to space, we have to go through the Russians to get there.

I guess we're just lucky to have Putin to give us a ride to space since Obama made it NASA's primary mission to make Muslims feel better about their imaginary contributions to science, technology, or pretty much anything that improves western civilization.

"...mission to make Muslims feel better about their imaginary contributions to...."

I just Googled "Muslim contributions to" and came up with 6,550,000 imaginary hits. Must be a bug in Google's system.

You probably didn't follow the links. 6,549,999 of them were to....Muslim contributions to terrorism, misogyny, and Toyota's

The last link was to Muslim contributions to literacy, but it was an Onion article.

If we accept your premise, Ed, that Muslims have never made any contribution to art, medicine, architecture, science, mathematics, etc., how do you see that informing our behavior toward them?

Do you see that as justifying the drone-bombing of a Muslim wedding party, for example? Is that a green light to overthrow Muslim governments and assassinating Muslim office-holders? Does it make it O.K. to blockade food, medicine and other essentials resulting in the deaths of tens of thousands of non-combatants?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Not at all, it is their adherence to a backward quasi-religion that shows contempt for literacy; it is mental retardation from chronic inbreeding that combine to prevent them from evolving culturally beyond the 7th century.

That's not why we bomb them, we bomb them because they are a violent, anti-social part of the world who if they concentrated their efforts on education, economics, and social advancement instead of terrorism, they might avoid the bombs.

Sean Hannity's office called, Ed. They need you to substitute for him two days next week. Are you available?

Are you out of your mind? I rarely agree with Hannity. He thinks we have a manifest destiny to remake the whole of the middle east in our own image. He thinks that ISIS would have concentrated on their own without US meddling in the desert. And he thinks our return there to eradicate them is a good idea.

I disagree with all of that, my tongue-in-cheek comment about bombing them aside. That said, if we are under direct threat and an identifiable target can be bombed, then I don't have a problem bombing them, but that's not exactly the case here. We'll have to re-occupy Iraq for another decade and nation-build there for another decade after that and we still won't eradicate the ISIS roaches....so what's the point?

Do you think that sentiment would fly on Hannity?

I didn't make myself clear. I apologize. My Hannity comment was in reference to your comical stereotyping of ALL Muslims as being stuck in the 7th century, your unforgivable pretense that ALL Muslims are identical to every other Muslim, your dismissal of (or ignorance of) any and all accomplishments of Muslim peoples, and your unconscionable demonization of ALL Muslims (which only serves to rally your reader(s) behind the globalists policy of Endless War (TM)a la "1984").

“America counts millions of Muslims amongst our citizens, and Muslims make an incredibly valuable contribution to our country. Muslims are doctors, lawyers, law professors, members of the military, entrepreneurs, shopkeepers, moms and dads. And they need to be treated with respect.”
