A U.S. health official said a swine flu vaccine could be available as early as October, but only if production and testing run smoothly this summer.
CDC officials reported more than 8,500 probable and confirmed cases in the United States.
Meanwhile, health officials in an Illinois county said a 42-year-old man has died from complications of swine flu. The officials said the victim had other medical problems. The man is the third person in the state to die from swine flu.

Let's see, they say the vaccine could be ready by October. Well, if my calculations are correct, and I'd like to think they are, that means that at the current Swine Flu mortality rate, like 6 more immuno-compromized Americans could possibly die.....they'd better hurry!

The danger is not in this swine flu. The flu of 1918 came through twice, once with only a few death, than the same flu came through six months later and killed millions. They are preparing for that happening again.
Please, the cocktail vaccine they make every year for the regular flu is hit-and-miss at best, and 30,000 Americans die from it every year, hundreds of thousands world wide, in spite of the availability of the vaccine. I'll delay my panic, if you don't mind, until there are a statistically-significant number of deaths from SF. If it mutates and becomes more virulent, the the vaccine they're making right now is not likely to offer much protection to the immuno-compromised anyway. This is media-driven hysteria and nothing more. As soon as the Norks threaten a neighbor with nukes or Michelle Obama wears a different style of sleeveless sweater, the MSM will forget all about Swine Flu.
