As dumb as the whole bottled-water craze is(it's just tap water), eco-nuts want to ban the plastic bottles because of their carbon footprint.....
SACRAMENTO (AP) ― Attorney General Jerry Brown on Tuesday said he will sue to block a proposed water-bottling operation in Northern California unless its effects on global warming are evaluated.
These insane environmentalists are literally running the country now. Any human activity that doesn't fit into their demented world view is subject to regulation or even prohibition by them, all in the name of the preposterous notion of man-made global warming. But even that's a charade. Their grand goal is to stifle capitalism as much as possible with onerous regulations, ridiculous fees, and costly environmental impact statements. They gleefully envision the US down on the level of any other third-world country. Like Rush says, liberals' world view is, everybody equal in misery.

Can a court system legally shut down a company because of its so called carbon footprint? I mean, why isn't the attorney suing every car manufacturer, oil company, food processing plant, ummm i can name just about every industry. This attorney should be disbarred for such ridiculous behavior.
The AG of California is Jerry Brown, the former governor and many times failed democratic presidential candidate, so he carries some clout. To answer your question: yes, a court system can effectively shut down a business by making it too difficult and expensive with onerous, idiotic regulations and hoops to jump through. That's what's happening here. There's nothing illegal about bottling water but, it takes 2 years to provide the proper environmental impact statement, there's no doubt a carbon tax coming in California, etc. At some point, the company cannot make any profit and they move to another, friendly state.
Haha, that makes these regulations stupid. The economy in California will fail, dramatically, and the price of living will sky rocket. The only people who will be able to live there will be the rich kooks of Hollywood. Of course letting them have their own little place to live and leave the rest of the world alone doesn't sound all that bad.
