The advert has upset Muslims because dogs are considered ritually unclean and has sparked such anger that some shopkeepers in Dundee have refused to display the advert.
‘We did not seek advice from the force’s diversity adviser prior to publishing and distributing the postcards. That was an oversight and we apologise for any offence caused.’
This is just getting to be ridiculous. Why does anybody take these morons seriously any more? Oh, I know....because they'll cut our throats, slaughter civilians, and burn our cities at the slightest provocation. And don't tell me these are only the radical Muslims being outraged. These are the Muslims we view as moderate and normal. When are you people going to get it....Islam is not, not one of the world's great religions. It is a perverse cult of third-world nomads hell-bent on controlling or killing anybody who doesn't bow to their ridiculous beliefs. What else would you expect from a group that collectively hates puppies?

Now i'm not a fortune teller or seer or anything of that nature, but i predict much hate mail in your future Ed. Not to say I don't agree because I do... on a much smaller level. Perhaps you went a bit over the line to talk about someone's religion that way. Talk about a people's culture and life style maybe. But I don't believe in offending anyone's religion. Yes they went way over the line as well to say that an advert with a puppy on it offeneded them. That is obviously unreasonable as you see dogs everywhere. However, you should try to focus on that area more than the religion of Islam.
Carlos, I would gladly seperate radical Islamists with the moderate practitioners of Islam.....IF THERE WERE ANY SEPERATION! As I've pointed out more times than the number of men Madonna's slept with, show me a single instance of a peaceful practitioners of Islam standing up for the West against terrorism, ritual stoning, villiage burning, rioting, human rights violations, sanctioned rape, mass murder, or any of the rest of the barbaric savagery we associate with Islam and I'll gladly draw a distinction between the two. All they can stand up against is puppies....what does that tell you?
Seriously, in the year 2008, not the seventh century, can you respect a religion whose faithful practice every one of the atrocities on that list, all around the world. The only reason they don't do it here is we are maybe the last country that respects the rule of law. We don't make exceptions for whacky, third-world, barbaric cults masquerading as "religions". The sooner moderates like you recognize the danger to America of incrementally weaving Muslim culture into our own because they demand it of us, the better off we'll be.
Again, show me a peace-loving Muslim of importance standing with the West against radical Islam, denouncing it's practices, and I'll consider toning down my weekly indictments of it. Because so far, the silence of America's Muslims is deafening.
You are right Ed. However, I should probably revise my comment to say something along the lines of "The majority of people who claim to practice Islam today do not follow the Kuran or however you spell that with a Q or something I dont know. Anyway the K/Quran states that one should never use violence unless absolutely necessary to protect the followers of Islam or to bring more Islams in. Its something like that. Someone please correct me if I am far off the main idea of that passage of the K/Quran. Obvioulsy these "Muslims" are not true Muslims because honestly how does bombing America do anything except disgrace the name of Islam? There are however a small number of true Muslims who follow the K/Quran religiously (pun anyone?) and would never hurt a fly unless absolutely necessary. "
All I'm saying is that you are assuming all Muslims are radical, and I can clearly see where you would believe that because the news only reports the radical Islams bad deeds. Nobody wants to hear what the true Muslims are up to. People want to hear what the crazy radicals are up to. Trust me, there are that small number of Muslims who mean good and do good as much as anyone else. Please just try not to generalize so much Ed.
Carlos, here're a few quotes from the divine book of the religion of peace....
I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them.
fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war)
Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them)
Daniel Pearl must have run into some peaceful preactitioners of Islam.
It's not an unfair generalization that I make. Show me a single Muslim in the Netherlands, England, Spain, Norway, Malaysia, or anywhere else you can think of, who has stood against these practices.
It doesn't matter what appeasers think the Koran intended. It's practiced as it is commanded to be practiced by the pedophile Mohammed.
And it's not just the media covering the bad news. There is no good news in Islam to be covered. CAIR isn't holding press conferences to denounce radicalism. Instead they're busy insisting on halal diets for our public schools and whining bitterly about puppies.
I'm sorry, but until somebody shows me something positive out of Islam, my assessment of it will continue to be negative.
Very well Ed, you win. Not saying I 100% agree with everything your saying but seeing as how everyting you say is logical enough and I have no argument against it i assume that means you win no?
Everything offends someone. That is the new standard which we now have to live by. The way to handle this problem is simple. Tell them to get over it. Stop coddling them and giving them everything they want. Tell them to F*** off. When we start giving into demands, we start to become controlled by them. Do what you want to do, and stop worrying about who it offends, because it is going to offend someone.
Carlos, it's not about winning an argument. I enjoy the back and forth of debate. It's what this blog is supposed to invite. The intellectually honest exchange of competing ideas. Hopefully we all learn something from it.
I'll be the first to admit that I am not the final word on anything. And I respect anybody who'll get on here, challenge me, and show me where I'm wrong. Even if they're rude and irrational, that can be fun too.
