Scifi space ships are awesome
In no particular order, these are my three favorite sci-fi space ships....
the Dropship from Aliens, the USS Sulaco from Event Horizon, and the USS Discovery from 2001:A Space Odyssey. [Click on any pic for a larger view]

I thought at the time the mil tech in "Aliens" was presient.
Agreed, it wasn't too far out as to be unbelievable, but about what you'd expect us to have developed in a couple hundred years.
Believable future technology is always the best.
If I remember, the Marines had head-up helmet displays that they could share among the squad. That will be in widespread use within a few years.
Yeah, I think they had helmet-mounted cameras so the controller could see what each marine was seeing and send that live feed to the other guys in the squad. Pretty cool.
I wonder how much mil-tech is derived from ideas in sci-fi movies. There are some cool ideas.
