“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

Railroaded toward a collectivist oligarchy

Fed up reader David had this to offer this morning:

"The Fed government is partially shut down. First, despite warnings of the sky falling, I doubt few will notice. In a way I'm glad for the shut down. I think it demonstrates just how f#cked up our politicians are. I mean they haven't produced a budget in years, they are paralyzed buy their differences so as to be ineffective. I hope the silver lining to the shut down is that they are all voted out of office, republicans and democrats. Really, this is no way to run a country.

Oh, and I was sick listening to all the talk about the affordable healthcare act. The first words out of their mouths were the admission that no one knew how much it was going to cost. And then they would quickly shift to talks of federal subsidies for those with need, WTF! If it's so affordable why all the talk about subsidies? I was sick with anger at the stupidity of all the reporters as they talked about this. Is it just me or do people really not see what's going on?"

David

My good friend Dave has a right to be pissed. The Tea Party sees what's going on in 20/20 vision, but the vast majority of Obama voters do not. The media know, but they view themselves as part of the elite ruling class, above the burdened daily lives of the vast unwashed underclass to which we belong. And they have too much professionally invested in the perceived success of the first black President to dare question his motives or even the disastrous outcomes.

The quisling American media are unembarrassed by their support of European-style collectivism being imposed on the US, so they'll support Obama no matter what he does and blame intransigent Tea Party republicans for anything that goes wrong.

Regular reader Isaac asked simply, "Where is John Galt"?

Where is our John Galt, where indeed?
