“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

A little time away from politics

Sorry for the lack of posting the last few days, but I've been out of town doing traffic studies for my other
job. This sunrise was in Covington, Louisiana where I was middle of the week. And the picture below is when I was doing another traffic job over in Orange Beach, Alabama. I had a little time for lunch and headed over to Doc's where I enjoyed a half-dozen raw oysters, a soft-shell crab (Spider Burger) and washed it all down with a mug of crafted beer from the Fairhope Brewing Co. I'll be back home on Sunday and I should get back to blogging on Monday, if not before.

Ed,
Great photographs and a pleasant change of pace from the standard TRR subjects. Were those photos captured with a smart phone?

Yes, and I have to say, I'm always impressed with the quality.

Thought so. My iPhone has replaced my point and shoot. Never thought I'd admit that.

I think at some point in the last 5 years, it became true that more pictures are taken a day with smart phones than all the cameras on Earth combined. Pretty amazing that this stupid little device has all but replaced and entire industry.....and with an adjunct feature, not even the primary function of the device.

They also seemed to have replaced the multi-tool nature of the human hand (one of them at least). I see people, mostly young, never, ever without one in their hand.

Yeah Bill, it's ridiculous. It's like these kids are terrified of missing out on the latest vapid thread among their friends. The world might end if they aren't part of the conversation about who Brittany kissed at 31-Flavors last night. Good grief!
