A man who allegedly paid the mother of a 14-year-old girl so he could have sex with the child has been charged with sexual assault.
According to the Denver district attorney's office, Mark Mathias, 48, paid the mother money over a 10-month period. Investigators said that from June 18, 2008, through March 31, Mathias repeatedly sexually assaulted the girl.
The child told investigators that her mother would use a cellphone to contact different men, telling them that "fresh meat (was) available."
Detective Kenneth Klaus said in court documents that when the mother's cellphone records were reviewed, "an extensive contact list was revealed."
In addition to the sexual-assault charge, Mathias was charged with soliciting for child prostitution as well as sexual assault — pattern of child abuse.
Prosecutors said the mother was charged earlier with pimping and pandering of a child. Her bail has been set at $200,000.
Mathias is being held on $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Denver County court Wednesday to be advised of the charges.
I can't make this up! Two low life vile degenerates are in jail. May they rot there. I hope that the bail bondsman of the greater Denver band together and swear to let these 2 scums stay in jail. I hope some typical "lifers" get a hold of the pair and introduce them as "fresh Meat" to the cell block. Wonder how screwed up this little girl will be and how long before she can trust anybody again. Things like this are a daily reminder of why, we as parents, have to carefully watch what our kids do and who with. In this child's case, someone else should have been watching, Oh my bad, he was and was paying. On the bright side, if these disgusting scumbags are convicted, at least there are 2 less Democratic votes now!
