Nassau Democrats passed a bill Monday to make candy retailers put candy and bubble-gum cigarettes behind the counter, much like real cigarettes.
In other news: They still make candy cigarettes.
Do you think it's a good idea for a company to market to children, products that are identical to products that are highly restricted to adult use? That's like having vending machines that sell for 75cents, cans of soft drinks that are identical to Budweiser cans but the can says, "Just like dad" on it. There are lots of things that are legal for adults to obtain and use that shouldn't be made into toys, so children can pretend and learn to use them too. Am I the only one who sees the inherent stupidity in a society that allows the sale of candy cigarettes to children?

That's the exact point my wife made when we discussed this. Teaching kids to drink is just as wrong as teaching them to smoke. What's so bad about kids understanding that they can't do some things adults do?
