“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Obama....best friend to union thugs everywhere

If the sycophants in the main-stream media succeed in installing Obama in the White House, get ready for the single greatest expansion of forced unioniozation in history. The One is already on board with the idiotically named Employee Free Choice Act....

The Employee Free Choice Act would require employers to recognize unions once a majority of workers sign cards of support, and would be perhaps the most significant change in federal labor law in six decades.

As it is now, like all votes, unionization voting is private, as it should be. If employees were forced to vote publically whether to unionize or not, they would be subject to union thuggery and intimidation. Democrats are beholden to criminal union bosses because they funnel forcibly seized union dues from reluctant employees to the democrats' campaigns. Obama is a huge supporter of union thuggery and one of his first acts in office would be to pass this disastrous bill with the collusion of Pelosi and Reid.

If you are one of those moronic liberals who think labor unions are good, and you think a democratic-controlled country with high taxes and labor unions everywhere would be a good thing, then take a look at Michigan. It is controlled entirely by democrats and union thugs have destroyed the economy of the state.

If that's what you want for America, then stupidly vote for Obama.

You are exactly right! This happened to me. I'm a "Teamster" (ick - I feel like a thug). I didn't want to join, but they would take my money anyway and call it "fair share". They flooded me with calls and junk mail supporting Obama. They even mailed absentee ballot applications attached to pro Obama junk. It oughtta be a crime.

Tracie, be honest now, how many knee-caps have you busted with a pipe wrench down by the docks?

Juat a few - only when I was ordered ;-) , but I'm leading an effort to decertify, so if you don't hear from me....I might have met Jimmy Hoffa.

In all seriousness, I'd like to hear about what it's like to be in a hard-core labor union. Have they ever forced you to strike when you didn't want to? What are the likely consequences of trying to keep your job but be out of the union? Do you get to vote privately on union organizing or is it public so the union bosses knows who's with them and who's not? Please don't put yourself in danger if there's a chance somebody there might know who you are by reading this but, I only know what I've read and I'd like some better insight. If you'd rather e-mail me, do it to [phillips338@bellsouth.net]

Sorry to disappoint, I don't have anything exciting to tell about the union.
No strikes or anything. I haven't been in it that long, and I haven't bothered with any of it because I wasn't planning on staying at this job. But I'm still there and most of us are ready to oust the union so who knows?

Something about the word "√ľnion" - especially "Teamster" makes me want to put on a flannel shirt and smoke a cigarette. (Not meant to insult some of the hardest working Amerians out there - just a joke.)
