“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

The Goreacle....now practically a parody of himself

There is no tragedy so horrific or human suffering so severe that craven liberals won't use it to advance their kooky aganda. Such is the case with the 50,000 deaths and counting, in Myanmar from the cyclone. Predictably, Al Gore has seized the opportunity to falsly claim yet again that global warming does exist, despite NOAA measurements that ocean temperatures have cooled almost an entire degree globally over the last year alone. Not to be deterred by little things like the facts, the Goreacle presses on with his anti-human agenda of crippling the world's economies with idiotic carbon limits to mitigate a phenomenon that exists only in his deranged mind...global warming.

If only the Goreacle would shut his pie-hole for a minute, some actual global warming could be stopped.

I'm not going "green".

With gas prices inching higher on a daily basis, people are wondering when it will end and if anything can be done to ease the pain. The short answers are, it won't end, and nothing can be done except reduce your personal consumption. That being said, apparently prices haven't gone high enough because demand remains more or less the same. People must be cutting back elsewhere to make up for the high gas prices. Also, most driving is by necessity, not for idle pleasure. We don't have a choice but to drive to work, pick up the kids from school, and go see that client in the next town. That being the case, here's one of the all-time dumbest questions presidential candidates are counting on you to be asking.....

Why can’t the government do more to cut gas prices?

If you are one of these startlingly dense people, then you clearly were learning to put condoms on cucumbers in dreadful public schools rather than in Econ101 class learning about basic supply and demand. The government can't do anything to lower prices. The idiotic, disastrous cessation of the fed. $.18 gas tax would cause huge shortages and long lines exactly like they did in the 70's when the worst President ever, Jemmeh Carter tried it. Moreover, refiners only make 4cents on every dollar of revenue. If the government lowered the price of gas, why would the refiners choose to keep refining gas at a loss?

So my friends, if you want to decrease your monthly gas costs, then YOU, not the government, must make some changes in your lifestyles.

As you know, I never miss a chance to ridicule smug liberals as they drive around in electric cars and hybrids thinking they are better than everybody else because they are saving the polar bears or some such crap. What I do not ridicule is somebody making a financial decision to drive a hybrid because they've calculated that they can save money by doing so. Nobody gives a crap about the polar bears. As gas prices rise, a financial advantage of alternative-fueled cars arises. The other day on the way to work, my wife and I were complaining about gas prices as we pulled next to an '08 Prius, and I started thinking, at 56mpg, that car doesn't look nearly as stupid as it used to. What do you think? Would I look good in one of these?

This is the '09 Prius. 57mpg....approximately 3.5 times the mileage of my SUV. It's starting to look tempting.

A boy named Sue

The last time we had this discussion, it was about a 9year old in Colorado, now it's about a 9 year old in Phily...

For school officials in Haverford Township, the challenge was daunting: What do you do when a 9-year-old student, with the full support of his parents, decides that he is no longer a boy and instead is a girl?
Parents of a third-grade student at Chatham Park Elementary School approached the administration on April 16 to ask for help in making a "social transition" for their child.

The Haverford School District consulted experts on transgender children, then sent letters to parents advising them that the guidance counselor would meet with the school's 100 third-grade students to explain why their classmate would now wear girls' clothes and be called by a girl's name.

Look, I said it before and I'll say it again, indulging the orientation fantasies of a pre-pubescent child by letting him dress up like a girl and change his name is beyond child abuse. Why not wait until he's at least well into puberty before taking any of this seriously? Is it because his progressive hippie parents have him on a strict vegan diet? Is it because his touchy-feely parents made him play with dolls rather than trucks as a toddler to prove how non-gender biased they are? Or is it popular with the progressive in-crowd in Phily to screw up your kid by making gender-political statements through them?

Why not let the kid reach full-on puberty, say 16-17, and let him decide what makes him feel "normal". Then take medical action at that point if it's necessary. 9 year olds will eat bugs for money....you can't let them make complicated gender identity decisions for themselves at that age.

Quick, somebody get this kid a hamburger, a plastic gun, and some therapy.

What if they staged a protest and nobody came?

I just love when these dumb-hippie students stage a protest over something or other and try to recapture the Viet-nam protest hysteria with which their dumb-hippie parents irritated everybody in the sixties....and fail utterly and miserably. Here's a dumb-hippie, former student lamenting the apathy with which the productive class regards their pitiful protest drama...

Three protesters, a half-dozen signs and a missing petition.

"People walk past and say, 'I'm glad you're doing something,' " said Marty O'Malley, a Forest Hills council member who has attended more than 100 anti-Iraq war events, as he stood in front of Democratic U.S. Rep. Mike Doyle's Downtown office last week with the small gathering of activists.

"I want to shake them and say, 'Why aren't you doing something!?' "

You'll be shocked, shocked to hear that literally tens of people are showing up for these protest rallies. Here's a short clip of a protest rally held at Harvard to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the war in Iraq. There aren't any people there, only the dumb-hippie students who're skipping class to carry signs around in the snow. Don't watch the whole thing, you can get the point in the first 15 seconds.

Whether we agree or disagree with the war, productive Americans recognize that stupid rallies like this accomplish nothing and their time is better spent earning a living and creating wealth for themselves and thier families. It's still hilarious though!

Worst parents in the universe!

I'm generally not in favor of forced sterilization but I would make an exception in these peoples' case...

The parents of an 11-year-old Wisconsin girl, who prayed instead of seeking medical help for their diabetic child are facing homicide charges in connection with her death.

Are these two people too stupid to consider the possibility, just for a minute, that maybe God answers prayers through doctors and modern medicine? Clearly that question is rhetorical. I hope these retards contract a painful, lingering infection in prison....one that involves lower back pain and rectal bleeding.

The Religion of Peace claims another victim

Every time I read one of these stories, I'm more and more convinced that trying to drag Islamic countries out of the 11th century into the modern world is a complete and total lost cause....

An Iraqi teenage girl was brutally murdered by her father in an "honour killing" after she fell in love with a British soldier in Basra.

Seventeen-year-old Rand Abdel-Qader told her best friend how she had fallen for Paul, a 22-year-old she met at a charity where she worked as a volunteer.

When her father learned she had been seen speaking to a foreigner he rushed home and butchered her, strangling and stabbing her while screaming that he was "cleansing his honour".

He was arrested, but Iraqi police took no action. His wife has since left him and is in hiding.

Abdel-Qader Ali stood on the girl's throat until she suffocated and then stabbed her, all the time shouting that his honour was being cleansed.

He was arrested and released within two hours. Sergeant Ali Jabbar of Basra police said: "The father has very good contacts in the Basra government."

Because her family considered her impure, Rand was given only a simple burial. Her uncles spat in her grave to show their disgust.

I defy anybody to come here and attempt to convince me that these atrocities are anything but the product of a savage, barbaric religion. And we idealistic Americans dare to believe that a third-world, productionless society that condones this sort of thing is capable of functioning as a republic?

"But Ed", you whine, "this was an isolated incident. It's the exception, not the rule. You cannot indict a whole population because of the acts of a few."

Why yes, dumb reader, I can. There were 47 honor-killings in Basra alone in the past year, and the "authorities", as always, let the men go after only symbolic interrogations. Clearly, this is a society, not a few individuals, that endorses the murder in cold blood of it's daughters. Obviously we cannot impose normal human behavior on a barbaric society of savages. Our nation-building efforts could be better spent in Mexico or somewhere else, anywhere but the backwards, third-world, God-forsaken hell-holes of the middle east.

Here's Rand in happier times....and by happier, I mean not strangled, stabbed, and spat upon by her father and uncles.

Confucius say....those who choose to live in fishbowl should not complain when they get wet

I thought we were pretty much finished with the whole Katrina story but it looks like we have to endure still more court-room whining from the locals...

The Army Corps of Engineers can be held liable for flood damage caused by a "hurricane highway," a navigation channel that is believed to have funneled Hurricane Katrina's storm surge into the city, a federal judge ruled Friday.

The city would not have been flooded at all if it had been built above sea level in the first place. Good grief! Look, there's a reason there are no insurance companies willing to insure structures in NO against flood damage. It's because they are 6-10 feet below sea level......right next to the sea. Property owners assume responsibility for their structures if they choose to build in a flood plane without flood insurance. This is just another in a long line of attempts of NO lawyers to extort more money from American taxpayers by whining about how awful Katrina was to the residents of that town, only this time it's the property owners who're trying to squeeze money out of Americans who're smart enough not to build our houses and apartments on flood planes.

"Scientist" reports NO GLOBAL WARMING, then blames global warming

File this under, STUFF YOU CAN'T MAKE UP! These "scientists" who make their livings advancing the idiotic notion of man-made global warming will say absolutely anything with a straight face as long as it's consistent with current environmental dogma...

April 30 (Bloomberg) -- Parts of North America and Europe may cool naturally over the next decade, as shifting ocean currents temporarily blunt the global-warming effect caused by mankind, Germany's Leibniz Institute of Marine Sciences said.

Average temperatures in areas such as California and France may drop over the next 10 years, influenced by colder flows in the North Atlantic, said a report today by the institution based in Kiel, Germany. Temperatures worldwide may stabilize in the period.

The study was based on sea-surface temperatures of currents that move heat around the world, and vary from decade to decade. This regional cooling effect may temporarily neutralize the long- term warming phenomenon caused by heat-trapping greenhouse gases building up around the earth, said Richard Wood, a research scientist at the Met Office Hadley Centre, a U.K. provider of environmental and weather-related services.

Then here's the funny part, and by funny I mean stupid...

``Those natural climate variations could be stronger than the global-warming trend over the next 10-year period,'' Wood said in an interview. ``Without knowing that, you might erroneously think there's no global warming going on.''

So this retard states clearly that there is no global warming that's going to take place over the next decade, but then in the same sentence, states that global warming still exists. Amazing!

Are America's days numbered?

I read an article this morning over at TownHall.com in which Patrick Buchanan chillingly outlines, by all accounts, what the world may look like in only 40 or 50 years.

Human populations experience natural fluctuations, advancing and receding with time and generations. As Buchanan points out, the ascendancy and rule of modern, western man is just about over. Third-world peoples are rapidly and aggresively colonizing western democracies with massive, herd-like migrations and startlingly high birth rates, and will in two generations dwarf Anglo-Europeans in terms of resident population. Here's the scary part...

And America? According to the Pew Research Center, the Hispanic population of the United States will triple to 127 million by 2050, as Mexico's population grows to 130 million. An erasure of the U.S. border, or merger of the two countries, or the linguistic, cultural and social annexation of the American Southwest by Mexico appears fated.

The question in 2050 will be(I will be 88, my kids will be 56 and 62, and my grandkids will likely be in their 20's or 30's with kids of their own), is America a nation in serious decline, much like Europe is today, flush with third-worlders, clamoring for an increasingly greater slice of the pie and demanding that we as hosts adapt to their ways rather than the other way around? It already started the first time somebody installed a "Dial 2 for English" message on their phone. It's beyond scary to me that my grandkids will likely grow up in a country that is vastly different, and not in good ways, than the one I grew up in.

You can go ahead and stick a fork in Europe. They are beyond recovery. And for the reasons above, every day I become more convinced that immigration is the single greatest issue in American politics. Our politicians of both parties look no further than the next election cycle, never considering the long-term effects of their refusal to act today. Neither McCain, Obama, or Clinton are interested in closing the border, so it looks like the stone mason might be starting to carve our fate too. Seriously, if you don't to anything else productive today, read Pat's article.

IT's Ann Coulter Thursday!

This week Ann makes fun of the ridiculous attempts by Jeremiah Wright to explain that his remarks were anything but anti-American, anti-Jew, and anti-white. Clearly they were. Informative and entertaining as always. Go on over to HumanEvents and read the whole thing.
