If you've ever taken the oath of enlistment in the U.S. military and are anything like me, you get a kind of lump in your throat as you repeat the words:
I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.
Oaths used mean a lot more to many people than they seem to now. Clearly Major Nadal Malik Hasan and PFC Bradley Manning did not take their oaths seriously. Somehow I think that Chief Intelligence Specialist Jared Pringle does take it seriously.
