“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

The stupidity of stimulus spending

Only a moron or a liar would have us believe that jobs "created" by one-time government spending count as actual jobs. With that in mind, I present President Obama's idea of job creation....

PORTLAND, Ore. — How much are politicians straining to convince people that the government is stimulating the economy? In Oregon, where lawmakers are spending $176 million to supplement the federal stimulus, Democrats are taking credit for a remarkable feat: creating 3,236 new jobs in the program's first three months.

But those jobs lasted on average only 35 hours, or about one work week. After that, those workers were effectively back unemployed, according to an Associated Press analysis of state spending and hiring data. By the state's accounting, a job is a job, whether it lasts three hours, three days, three months, or a lifetime.

Any third-grader can tell you that once the stimulus money is gone, so are the make-work "jobs" it created. When there's no real demand for that work in the real economy, the jobs aren't really jobs, they're nothing but temporary government hand-outs.
But then read the line in bold. Accounting trickeration is how lying politicians like Obama can claim to have created jobs....they just change the definition of "job". If somebody paid you $6 and hour to spackle sheet rock for a week and then told you to go away, would you consider that a job? Obama does.

And what about all the jobs he's SAVED with this nonsense "stimulus"?

Then again, what do you expect from someone who hires people into big-money guvmint jobs that think consumer confidence is returning and we're turning the corner based on Google searches?
