“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

R.I.P. Alexandr Solzhenitsyn

I read today in the newspaper that Mr. Alexandr Solzhenitsyn died. A truly daring man. A man that lived a large part of his life exiled from a place he loved. This writer, mathematician, and historian exposed the cruel and inhuman treatment given to Russian prisoners within the Gulag (penal) system. He helped many foreigners come to better understand the Russian communistic way of life, its rewards and consequences for dissadence. A man that truly deserved all accolades lauded to him, as well as our respect and admiration. The Gulag Archipeligo is a must read. It will help the reader learn about the tragic and futile prison system life of Soviet prisoners of the state. I mourn his passing and regret that our children will not be able to be exposed to a man of his charcacter and integrity. Sleep well fallen soldier.
