So I just got back from the DMV where I stood in a 10-person line for about an hour while I watched three tellers shuffle slowly between chatting in the supervisor's office and eating biscuits in the break room, only occasionally helping customers. If any company in the world were run as incompetently and inefficiently as the DMV, it would go out of business in days. By the time I left, the line was 30 people long and moving even slower.
See, this is what you get when you award workers with fabulous salaries and benefits without the threat of dismissal. They have no incentive to perform. Only miserable government bureaucrats can get away with utter ineptitude, laziness, and apathy.

Not to mention the fact that they treat you like you are the incompetent one for having to be there. Who knew licenses expired?
People who know licenses expire are the people who value paperwork more than freedom.
