“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Run Fred, Run!

Fred Thompson communicates his ideas, and derides half-witted liberals, as well as any politician I know.

Some people think that our planet is suffering from a fever. Now scientists are telling us that Mars is experiencing its own planetary warming: Martian warming. It seems scientists have noticed recently that quite a few planets in our solar system seem to be heating up a bit, including Pluto.

NASA says the Martian South Pole’s “ice cap” has been shrinking for three summers in a row. Maybe Mars got its fever from earth. If so, I guess Jupiter’s caught the same cold, because it’s warming up too, like Pluto.

This has led some people, not necessarily scientists, to wonder if Mars and Jupiter, non signatories to the Kyoto Treaty, are actually inhabited by alien SUV-driving industrialists who run their air-conditioning at 60 degrees and refuse to recycle.

Silly, I know, but I wonder what all those planets, dwarf planets and moons in our SOLAR system have in common. Hmmmm. SOLAR system. Hmmmm. Solar? I wonder. Nah, I guess we shouldn’t even be talking about this. The science is absolutely decided. There’s a consensus.

Ask Galileo.

Seriously, I could get very excited about a Fred Thompson run for President. He needs to jump on in there and start mixing it up. I predict he would be Guiliani's immediate rival for the nomination leaving all others in the dust. Look at what the conservative base is supposed to get energized about, Guiliani the closet liberal, McCain the closet liberal and Romney the closet liberal--all posing as conservatives now that it suits them politically.

"But Ed", you whine, "he's another actor. He can't really be taken seriously by the conservative base." Of course he can. Look, Bush has some good ideas but he's abysmally poor at communicating them. Any salient points he makes are lost in the morass of politic speak his handlers make him use at press conferences. Fred Thompson, precisely because he's an actor, can communicate his ideas very clearly and in plain English....as evidenced by the above commentary on the kooky religion of man-made global warming. Don't you wish Bush would say something like that? I know I do.

This man has impressive credentials. He has already been the man in charge of NASCAR, a rear admiral, CIA director,White House chief of staff,a Senator,a doctor, and of course he previously was President Ross in a movie. With an impressive resume like this how can he not win a nomination. By the way, he also has been a horse, so he will be up on all animal rights issues.

I only dare imagine the excitement among the conservative voting base in response to a Thompson/Gingrich ticket for '08.

Liberals...beware!
