THE Government is discussing with airport operators plans to introduce a screening system that allows security staff to focus on those passengers who pose the greatest risk.
The passenger-profiling technique involves selecting people who are behaving suspiciously, have an unusual travel pattern or, most controversially, have a certain ethnic or religious background.
The system would be much more sophisticated than simply picking out young men of Asian appearance.
Well what do you know? Who would have thought that profiling the passengers who pose the greatest risk would be the most prudent method of ferreting out terrorists?
But it would cause outrage in the Muslim community because its members would be far more likely to be selected for extra checks.
Who cares of the Muslim community is outraged? Seriously! If they truly are peace-loving, not blood-thirsty,
good-citizen types, then they should be just as scared of flying as the rest of us. It is a fact: with only a few exceptions, almost all terrorists in the last 20 years have been radical, Islamo-fascist Muslims. It is only reasonable to look at the travelers who fit the description a little more closely.
Look for the unassimilated British Muslim community to take to the streets in protest over this very wise ethnic profiling policy. I only wish the politicians in the US had the guts to do something like this here.

These terrorists must be dealt with ruthlessly. We cannot successfully fight an asymmetric war and hope to win by fighting, as John Kerry stupidly put it, a smarter and more humane war.
Isreal made the grave mistake of fighting just such a war against Hezbollah for the last month and the Hezbo's came away with a moral victory. Israel could have crushed them but the PC-inspired sensitivity demanded of them by the antisemites at the UN left Hezbollah wounded but alive.
The only way to deal with terrorists is to kill them with ruthlessness and prejudice. Some civilians who choose to remain in the vicinity of targets will be killed as well...too bad!
