(CNSNews.com) - Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan announced Wednesday that she plans to begin an "open-ended hunger strike" on July 4 to urge the Bush administration to bring troops home from Iraq.
In her latest statement, Sheehan wrote that celebrities like singer Willie Nelson, actor Danny Glover and comedian Dick Gregory will show their support for her by joining in a one-day fast. She urged her supporters to do the same.
Seriously, did any hunger strike, at any time in history, ever achieve the desired policy change? I'm with John Hawkins over at RightWingNews...go hunger!

DNR kicking in for this kook is fun the think about, but I imagine she has a living will which stipulates something like, "Perform all available heroic measures to preserve my life, as I need to continue the good fight against the terrorist dictator George Bush, in rememberance of my son...what's his name again?"
Seriously...just one day?!! What are they going to prove by going hungry for one day. I do that on a busy day at work. I hope that Cindy strike lasts a bit longer and I would personally stand in the way of anyone who tried to feed her. What a KOOK!! Does she really think anyone cares?
We can only hope that Terry Schiavo's husband and doctors get involved...then there's no way she'll get anything to eat.
