“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

UK public employees unwittingly expose selves as unnecessary

As many as 2million public-sector workers went on strike in London today to protest necessary pension cuts....austerity measures that would help England avoid insolvency, like Greece and Italy.

You'd think the country would shut down with that many employees not working, but actually with bureaucrats out of the way, things are flowing much more smoothly....heh heh. The transit systems are far less congested, lines at state bureaucracies are far shorter. Actually most Londoners are happy that they are not at work.

This being the case, maybe they could just go ahead and fire anybody not on the job today since they have been proven to be unnecessary. Just fire them. I'll be they'll change their tune when they don't have any job or pension.

Barney Frank calls it quits

Barney Frank announced yesterday that he won't be seeking re-election, citing redistricting as contributory to his decision. Let's face it, at this point he's too entrenched and lazy to actually run a campaign for re-election.

Predictably the fawning media are presenting us with gleeful praise for Frank's 31-year, embarrassment of a congressional career. Lost in the media ass-kissing fest is Frank's personal responsibility for the mortgage collapse and the near national financial collapse. If Eric Holder was anything but an incompetent moron, Barney Frank would be in a prison cell, right next to Chris Dodd(insert salad-tossing joke here).

The moral of the story of liberal politicians retiring or dieing is that you can get away with pretty much anything in the eyes of the media as long as you fight for the liberal agenda, or at least pretend to fight for it.

Never cheat on a tattoo artist

This dumb chick in the picture decided to cheat on her boyfriend with his best friend. Then she asked her boyfriend, a tattoo artist, to do an image of Narnia on her back. The clever boyfriend had her sign a release allowing for "artist's discretion" before giving her this epic, steaming pile of crap instead.

I'm not sure what the difference between a steaming pile of crap tattoo and a Narnia tattoo is, but either way, ex-boyfriend FTW!

Newt's pragmatism on immigration

Newt Gingrich is taking a lot of heat from the other GOP candidates for his comments on immigration. They're accusing him of being pro-amnesty....

From NYTimes -- Mr. Gingrich responded by pressing his case that the country — and the Republican Party — would not be served by forcing the exile of immigrants who had been in the country for years, paying taxes and staying out of legal trouble.

“I don’t see how the party that says it’s the party of the family is going to adopt an immigration policy which destroys families that have been here a quarter century,” Mr. Gingrich said during the debate. “And I’m prepared to take the heat for saying let’s be humane in enforcing the law without giving them citizenship, but by finding a way to create legality so that they are not separated from their families.”

I think this is the most pragmatic, logical, and reasonable position. While in an ideal world, it would be nice to kick literally every illegal out of the country and start over from scratch with a closed border, in what alternative universe do these conditions exist?  The fact is, they are here, and most do not commit crimes, do pay some taxes, and do participate in the American dream. Blanket amnesty is a bad idea, but rounding up and deporting 20million people is equally bad.

There's got to be some way to offer a pathway to legality, but maybe not full voting citizenship, to those who participate and remain otherwise lawful. I think Newt's on to something and the other candidates have to attack him as the front runner.

Romney's objection that it'll just encourage more illegal border crossings could be negated by closing the border first.

A modest milestone

I don't know if you noticed the visitor counter toward the bottom of the right column, but TRR just went over 200,000 visits since I put up the counter a couple of years ago. I realize that by Drudge standards, that's like 5 minutes worth of visits, but I'm happy that a couple hundred people from all over the world stop by each day to see what we're talking about and maybe put their two-cents worth in.

I appreciate you people wasting a few minutes of your employers' busy work day to have a look at the posts, engage in a little lively debate, and tell me what a thoughtless asshole I am.

Now, back to blogging.

Heh heh, watch Mika Brzezinski get the vapors over Newt's comment

Mika Brzesinski is an unashamed Obama lick spittle, that much we know. But who figured she would defend the moronic OWS protesters against a simple insult from Newt, that frankly we've all made dozens of times..."get a job right after you get a bath". Watch and laugh as she practically hyperventilates in horror at Newt's daring to insult the delicate, snowflakes urinating and defecating on themselves around the country....

Michelle Malkin suggested this as Newt's new campaign slogan. I'd put this bumper sticker on my car today if I could buy one somewhere....

John Corzine.....criminal and Obama cronie

Ask not at whom John Corzine points and laughs, for he points and laughs at you.

Disgraced former NJ governor John Corzine's company, MF Global, went tits-up recently and big surprise, $1.6Billion of his clients money is missing. Corzine's been a corrupt crony of the Obama administration for years and I'll bet a lions share of that money is in Obama's campaign war chest.

Do any of you expect Corzine to be be thrown in jail for stealing from his clients? Me neither. He's one of Obama's biggest supporters and he'll receive protection from prosecution, especially if as I suspect, a lot of that money wound up funding Obama's re-election bid.

If the OWS morons are serious about protesting corruption at the hightest levels of government and banking instead of just getting high and raping each other, why not protest the cozy bromance between Corzine and Obama?

MIla Kunis keeps her promise

A-list actress Mila Kunis was invited to the Marine Ball via a Youtube video request, and she accepted. Over the weekend she kept her promise and went to the ball with Sgt Scott Moore.

I don't know what her politics and beliefs are but until I hear differently, she's a stand-up girl and she'll get every benefit of doubt from me.

UC-Davis morons learn about law-enforcement, the hard way

Dumb, entitled students at UC-Davis refuse to stop blocking a public use sidewalk on campus when the cops told them to, so naturally, and hilariously, the cops doused their faces with pepper spray....

The sympathetic media whined all weekend that the protesters were peaceful and unarmed, effectively accusing the cops of brutality, but "peaceful and unarmed" aren't the qualifications for law breaking. If you're intentionally blocking a public-use sidewalk and refuse to move when the cops tell you to move, you're breaking the law and you deserve to get pepper sprayed in the face. You deserve to get whacked upside the head with a telescopic baton in my opinion, so the cops showed amazing restraint here.

Larry Munson...RIP

My whole life as a Georgia football fan consisted of turning down the volume on the TV and listening to Larry Munson's play-by-play on the radio. He retired a year ago and passed away yesterday. Here's a tribute video of his most famous calls I found on Youtube....

I remember the exhilaration and thrill of each of those great plays in Georgia football history, thanks in large part to Munson's radio calls.

Like Eric Holder, Stephen Chu is either corrupt or incompetent and must resign, post haste

This is Stephen Chu, the nobel prize winning physicist and the Obama regime's secretary of energy. He testified before congress yesterday regarding the Solyndra debacle in which the Obama administration pissed away $578,000,000,000 (that's billion) dollars of taxpayer money on idiotic solar panels. He pretended that he knew nothing about Solyndra's financial trouble. His not knowing about Solyndra's trouble was like Eric Holder's not knowing about Fast and Furious going on right under his nose. It's simply not believable and both men are utterly incompetent to perform the jobs they hold.

Obama and the media tout Chu as regularly as the "Nobel prize winning physicist" as a testimony to his unassailability. Well, Obama received the Nobel Peace prize and promptly escalated the war in Afghanistan and attacked Libya, so Nobel prizes aren't exactly worth a lot these days.

The fact that Solyndra happened on his watch alone should be enough to force his immediate resignation, but it won't because the media will protect the Obama regime at all costs.....after all, it's election season.

I seem to recall this floating around the interwebs a few years ago and it reappeared on the FB page of my friend Susan, so I thought it was time for a re-visit.

US Marines? In Australia?

On his trip to Australia yesterday, Obama announced plans for the US to deploy 250 and eventually 2,500 marines in northern Australia in the coming months. Why? Supposedly it is to apply theoretical pressure to the Chinese not to misbehave in the south Pacific but, is that really a concern of ours? And why does Australia need US marines to protect them? They have a fine military. This seems like a slap in the face of the Australian Army to me.

I don't get why they would invite us to be there, other than a lot of local economic stimulus comes with supporting that many people.

I just don't get having US military bases all over the world. Seems pointless to me. Let Australia handle her own business. If we need to project force to the south Pacific, we can easily do it in a matter of hours and 2,500 marines aren't going to deter China from doing whatever it wants there.

The fix is in if you're an elected official

Did anybody else see the 60 minutes report by Steve Croft last night regarding how virtually all congressmen use inside information (information to which the voters have no access) to make millions for themselves and their families? All these guys are criminals! Not only do they trade stocks based on inside information, they advance legislation, the sole purpose of which is to enrich themselves. As Speaker of the House, Denny Hastert bought some cheap, virtually worthless cornfield land in Iowa, then pushed through an unnecessary interstate bill that quadrupled the value of that land.

How is he not in jail? Who oversees the criminals in congress? The justice department? Where are the gov't watchdogs? Why aren't there sunshine and transparency laws for the personal financial dealings of elected officials? Oh wait there are, but because DC is a rigged town, the fix is in and everybody is getting rich on inside information, nobody wants to upset the gravy train.

And these guys make political hay putting otherwise harmless drug users in prison for decades. If I traded on inside information or used my office for personal financial gain, I'd be in jail.

"But Ed" you whine, "holding public office is a sacrifice. They have to maintain two households and besides, it's a drop in the bucket compared to what they waste of our tax money."

True, but they make $174,000 a year and receive all kinds of perks from lobbyists. That aside, it's against the law to trade on inside information and to use your office for personal financial gain. The President is bound by law to have his personal portfolio held in a blind trust to which he has no access, why aren't congressmen and senators held to the same standard?

Somebody call the Orkin man

This is an actual picture of officials at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta responding to an outbreak of drug-resistant tuberculosis at the Occupy Atlanta tent city.....

These diseased vermin need to be in this order, forcibly washed with lye soap, beaten like Rodney King, and run out of town on a rail. Then the whole area quarantined and fumigated.

Joe Paterno out at State-College

In an effort to preserve their already damaged institution, Penn State's board of trustees fired by phone, head football coach Joe Paterno and the president of Penn State. Students rioted in support of Paterno but did he have it coming?

According to reports, a current assistant coach who was then a graduate assistant, witnessed coach Sandusky "sodomizing a 10 year old boy in the locker room showers". The term "sodomy" can mean several different things, all of them bad if you're a 10 year old boy. Instead of beating the coach to a bloody pulp and then calling the cops, this coward went to Paterno's office and told him. Then Paterno apparently told his boss the athletic director who apparently did nothing, resulting in as many as 17 boys being molested by Sandusky.

So who dropped the ball(if you'll pardon the football expression)? Much like the Catholic church, there is a culture of protection of the bigtime, Division-1 football institution at all costs. Every problem is handled "in-house" rather than involving outside authorities. But this wasn't a case of a 4-eyed nerd taking tests for stupid athletes. That's an in-house issue. This crime required nothing less than the immediate stoppage of the crime followed by an immediate call to the cops. Everybody in the Penn State chain-of-command passed the buck up to the next guy until it eventually got ignored.

I admire and respect Joe Paterno for his football and ethics record at Penn State, but his kicking this crime up the ladder for someone else to handle made him complicit in the crime and in the interest of Penn State, the board of trustees was probably wise to act quickly.

Obama is playing a dangerous game with Iran and Israel

Despite Iran's regular threats to destroy the Zionist state, I doubt it has any intention of attacking Israel. They don't have to. All Iran has to do is assume the posture of attack with its nuclear weapons capability and they know that'll be enough to bait Israel into a pre-emptive strike. Then they can whine about Israel being a aggressive, blood-thirsty state knowing that Israel's few remaining allies will turn on her.

And since Obamas's storied contempt of Israel and her PM Netanyahu is very public, Iran knows it has nothing to fear from the US by nuclear saber rattling. Building up a nuclear weapons program while proclaiming (unbelievably) that it's for peaceful energy purposes, Iran believes it has plausible deniability about its intentions to provoke Israel into a first strike.

Achmadinnerjacket knows that Obama is a weak, empty-suited amateur who when the sh*t hits the fan, will side with the UN majority against Israel. Killing bin Laden and Qaddafi was easy. It takes spine to confront a nuclear armed Iran and Obama is in short supply of spine.

Holiday chicanery from the Obama administration

This is how utterly stupid the Obama administration is. In the middle of a recession and with almost 10% of people out of a job, his Agriculture Dept. is imposing a $.15 tax on all live Christmas trees sold. The stated purpose is....

From Heritage.org -- “program of promotion, research, evaluation, and information designed to strengthen the Christmas tree industry’s position in the marketplace; maintain and expend existing markets for Christmas trees; and to carry out programs, plans, and projects designed to provide maximum benefits to the Christmas tree industry

Since when does the Christmas tree industry need its market position strengthened? Are there people who are anti-Christmas trees?

Obama just can't help himself. He must raise taxes no matter how ridiculous the reason given. The idiocy of it is that he's ostensibly helping the industry, but he's too economically inept to understand that raising the price will harm the Christmas tree industry. My son is taking an Econ class in high school and he fully understands the relationship between price and demand. Why doesn't Obama?

Violence works both ways

It's time for the police to start shooting people....

From CBS(Local) -- Coffee cart owner Linda Jenson and hot dog cart operators Letty and Pete Soto said they initially provided free food and drink to demonstrators, but when they stopped, the protesters became violent.

And according to one city councilman, bodily fluids were used in the attacks.

“Both carts have had items stolen, have had their covers vandalized with markings and graffiti, as well as one of the carts had urine and blood splattered on it,” said Councilman Carl DeMaio.

Blood and urine? Are you kidding me? How are the city councils and police not doing something about this? If violence is what these assholes respect, then give them some of it. These degenerate vermin need to be shot on sight and their bodies given to hog farmers for feed. Enough already!

What a difference 77 years of the entitlement society makes

Quite the contrast, eh?

How is a generation of these miscreants going to lead America back to prosperity? This is what the scourge of liberalism has created.

OWS men hate capitalism, but seem to enjoy rape

The criminal debauchery at the Zucotti Park OWS protests has gotten so bad for the women that they've had to set up a "safe tent" for women to sleep in so the sexual predators won't keep reaping them in the night.

The feckless media reported as fact, their fantasies that the Tea Party would turn violent, racist, and Nazi-like, but no crimes, not even littering, were reported. Yet the same reprehensible media shrug and ignore regular rapes of women at the OWS gatherings because it reflects negatively on Obama(an OWS supporter) and the larger narrative that capitalism is bad and socialism is good.

After this outrageous double standard of coverage, how can anybody pay any attention to what the mainstream media reports?

I want to believe

This is going around Facebook and as a hesitant believer in UFO's, I found this to be quite funny. I say hesitant because though I've never seen any credible evidence of alien visitations, what a collosal waste of space it would be if there weren't other beings flying around the universe and occasionally stopping by Earth to have a look see at how primitive we are? I think visiting Earth must be for aliens like visiting the zoo must be for us.

Detroit continues to implode

From the most democratically controlled city in America, the inmates are in control of the asylum.....

From CBSLocal -- “Our drivers are scared, they’re scared for their lives. This has been an ongoing situation about security. I think yesterday kind of just topped it off, when one of my drivers was beat up by some teenagers down in the middle of Rosa Parks and it took the police almost 30 minutes to get there, in downtown Detroit,”

Urban Detroit must be like living in a zombie-based X-Box game. Gangs of roving youths terrorizing with impunity any pedestrians or shop owners at will and the police not doing anything about it. There is lawlessness, chaos, and predatory violence rampant in the city run entirely by liberal democrats for generations.

With all three major car companies there, shouldn't they be teaming with jobs and employment? Oh that's right, when you combine thug unionization and unchecked, corrupt democrat, political policies, it's a recipe for total and utter societal and economic disaster. Detroit has collapsed in on itself and nothing short of razing the city and starting over will repair it for tens of generations.

But for hurricane Katrina washing most of the derelicts over to Houston, New Orleans would be right behind them. You want you city to end up like Detroit? Keep electing democrats and keep unionizing your work forces.

Sexual harassment is unacceptable....unless it's spanking

Herman Cain denies that he sexually harassed anybody 20 years ago, yet there are three women who unconvincingly claim otherwise. The main complainant is bound by a confidentiality agreement into which she entered in exchange for a wad of cash, yet though she has repeatedly told her lawyer to shut up, obviously a self-promoter, he keeps holding press conferences. Lawyers....I swear!

If the court vacates the non-disclosure agreement so that she can blab about the "incident", which is the ruling she's asking for, doesn't she have to pay back all the money she extorted from the National Restaurant Association in exchange for her silence?

I realize that presidential campaigns get ugly, but if I find out that Perry's campaign had anything to do with this(and he has the most to gain from a damaged Herman Cain), I won't vote for him. This will expose Perry to be just another dirtbag politician that'll do anything to win.

Kim K lowers the bar a little more

I just have this to say about Kim Kardashian's split from unemployed NBA husband Kris Humphries....who gives a crap?

Even Gretchen Carlson on Fox and Friends was whining that Kim's fans should be outraged. Let me just say that if any aspect of your life is affected in any way by what half-witted attention whores like the Kardashians, you need to get a life and maybe a new hobby.

There was another guy on F&F who was cautioning young girls not to use Kim as a role model for their own behavior. No kidding, moron! If you look to reality-show train-wrecks as role models, you fully deserve to be single, lonely, and miserable just like her.
