“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

Marine sniper, guilty of bad-a$$ery

Remember when Katie Couric asked during an interview with that marine sniper, what he feels when he shoots a terrorist, hoping he'd say something like sorrow, sympathy, or remorse? He answered simply and brilliantly, "Recoil". Here's an account of what happened when 250 terrorists recently ambushed 30 marines in Shewan, Iraq....

During the battle, the designated marksman single handedly thwarted a company-sized enemy RPG and machinegun ambush by reportedly killing 20 enemy fighters with his devastatingly accurate precision fire. He selflessly exposed himself time and again to intense enemy fire during a critical point in the eight-hour battle for Shewan in order to kill any enemy combatants who attempted to engage or maneuver on the Marines in the kill zone. What made his actions even more impressive was the fact that he didn’t miss any shots, despite the enemies’ rounds impacting within a foot of his fighting position.

“I was in my own little world,” the young corporal said. “I wasn’t even aware of a lot of the rounds impacting near my position, because I was concentrating so hard on making sure my rounds were on target.”

Holy crap! You do NOT want to engage a marine sniper.

You can go here and read the whole incredible account.

10 YEARS!!!

Here it is folks, this is what Bush has delivered. And for what, exactly? Would someone please explain to me the righteousness of this...

US FORCES could be needed in Iraq for a decade to battle insurgents, the top coalition commander said while vowing a "forthright" review in September of whether the present troop surge is working.

General David Petraeus said there was broad recognition in Washington that Iraq's daunting challenges would not be resolved "in a year or even two years.

"In fact, typically, I think historically, counter-insurgency operations have gone at least nine or 10 years," he said.

Who thinks that any American will tolerate another ten years of roadside bombings, IED's, limbless kids coming home, dead kids coming home, beheadings, triple extended tours of duty, 10-20 dead Americans per month, and trillions in blood and treasure to force a God-forsaken catbox of a Muslim country to convert from 11th century barbarism into a functioning democracy?

It's almost time folks. Time to bring the troops home and leave Iraq to whatever thug dictator is willing to step up and restore order. Even if it is a reign of terror, every mid-east country except Israel is governed by brute force and 11th century-style terror. It's a way of life over there and there's nothing we can do about it.

The Bush legacy folks...10 more years of death, dismemberment, and destruction...to what end?

Dumb hippies exercising their "rights"

Here's what your basic smelly hippie war protester looks like. Sure, he's supremely objectionable, half-witted, and smelly but this is America and there are no laws against public stupidity.

But there is another brand of stupid hippie, a vile, loathsome degenerate type of hippie. Here they are in action at the anti-war rally in SanFran last week. This is one of the most disturbing videos I've seen of stupid hippies trying to recapture their glory days of Vietnam. Listen to the chanting of the crowd. It's as awful as the images.

There is supposedly another video making the rounds, but I won't show it here, of a guy defecating on the American flag in front of women and children.

If you are aligned with the anti-war left in this country, you should look around and see with whom it is you are sleeping. These people on the left in this country are a bunch of sickos. You never, never see conservatives acting like this. And if you did, the media would be condemning them left and right, but if leftist, hate-America radicals do it, it all but gets ignored as a normal popular reaction to the war. This is because deep down, the people in the media believe that America is evil and they see nothing wrong with this anti-social behavior.

Deplorable, just deplorable!

Courage under fire

This is an inspiring account of bravery and heroism...check it out...

To this day she remains modest: a 5ft tall slip of a girl, and yet one so courageous that she has become the first female officer to win the Military Cross.

Pte Michelle Tench: 'I suppose I knew there were bullets, but I didn’t know how many'
Pte Michelle "Chuck" Norris, 19, had only recently completed her Army training when she braved heavy sniper fire to climb on top of a Warrior armoured vehicle to haul her sergeant to safety after he was wounded in the head.

One bullet from an AK47 rifle ripped through her rucksack as she came under fire from five different positions. But she refused to let go of Colour Sgt Ian Page, dragging him to safety and then jokingly referring to him as "Dad" as they and their comrades waited in the darkness for a rescue helicopter.

The details of that terrifying mission in Al-Amarah were still running through her mind yesterday, as she received her Military Cross during an investiture with the Queen.

And Nancy Pelosi and the craven democrats want to pull the funding rug out from under people like this....unbelievable! SanFranNan isn't fit to polish a marine's boots, much less decide on war funding.

The Dark Ages in the 21st Century

Iraqi Shiites mark the Ashoura, the tenth day of Muharram when Imam Hussein was killed in the Battle of Karbala in the year 680, in Basra. These men are flogging themselves in remembrance of the Imam.

With the notable exception of the Israelis, what do the people(Muslims) of the middle east contribute to the world? Let's make a list:

1. Mayhem
2. Death
3. Theatrical blood rituals
4. Dead civilians
5. Genocide
6. Terror
7. Rape is OK
8. Beheadings on film
9. Torture
10. Abject poverty
11. Hopelessness
12. Despair
13. Misery
14. Ignorance
15. Destruction

If anybody can name a single invention, medicine, art-form, economic or political system, scientific discovery, or any societal improvement that originated in the middle east, lay it on me because I don't think there are any.

Off with their heads!

This is gruesome and grotesque, but I can find ironic humor in the accidental beheading of men responsible for gruesome and grotesque torture of their fellow Iraqis...

BAGHDAD, Jan. 15 — Iraq’s turbulent effort to reckon with the violence of its past took another macabre turn on Monday when the execution of Saddam Hussein’s half brother ended with the hangman’s noose decapitating him after he dropped through the gallows trapdoor.

The Iraqis actually have tables dating back centuries which calculate the correct length of rope, given the weight of the condemned and the height of the gallows, that will properly snap the neck without decapitating the person...theoretical tables that is. Maybe somebody poured some rocks in his pocket just before the trap door opened.

There really isn't a point to this post, I just thought it made an absolutely hilarious visual.

Wonder when that video will hit YouTube?

Between Iraq and a hard place

I no longer see any reasonable or acceptable way out of this...

BAGHDAD, Nov. 25 — The insurgency in Iraq is now self-sustaining financially, raising tens of millions of dollars a year from oil smuggling, kidnapping, counterfeiting, connivance by corrupt Islamic charities and other crimes that the Iraqi government and its American patrons have been largely unable to prevent, a classified United States government report has concluded.
The report, obtained by The New York Times, estimates that groups responsible for many insurgent and terrorist attacks are raising $70 million to $200 million a year from illegal activities. It says $25 million to $100 million of that comes from oil smuggling and other criminal activity involving the state-owned oil industry, aided by “corrupt and complicit” Iraqi officials.
As much as $36 million a year comes from ransoms paid for hundreds of kidnap victims, the report says. It estimates that unnamed foreign governments — previously identified by American officials as including France and Italy — paid $30 million in ransom last year.

Here's the current situation in Iraq as it stands right now: Shiites and Sunni Muslims are killing each other at an astonishing rate -- a civil war by any standard. Iran and Syria are financing the flooding of Iraq with crazed jihadists who're willing and able to blow themselves up to kill other jihadists and Americans. The Iraqi army and civilian malitia are infested with crazed jihadists who use the authority of their uniforms to kill other Muslims who are not Sunni or Shiite, whichever they are. Al Maliki is not strong enough to lead a country at war with itself. Joe Biden's idea of partitioning the country is a fine idea but in practice how do you do that? Sunni and Shiite have been waring for generations and we cannot stop it. Saddam Hussein was an evil, piece of garbage and it's good that he's gone but can we judge that the power vacuum he leaves behind has lead to something better? And finally, 3000, give or take, dead Americans, not to mention the American tax-payer funded treasure expended to accomplish what exactly?

Look, if we had gone in there with overwhelming force and a plan to deal with this inevitable insurgency, rather than with the touchy-feely, kinder gentler warplan that we waged, we probably could have accomplished something definable as winning. With the whining liberals in America constantly harping about civilian casualties at every turn, I honestly don't see how we can wage ANY war ANY WHERE, successfully. If you are going to attack a country, you have to accept beforehand, huge numbers of civilian casualties, especially when the enemy cowardly disguises itself as civilian.

Seriously, what is the answer here? Where do we go now? Continue like we are today for the next ten years or more -- a few hundered Iraqi civilian and insurgent deaths alonside a half dozen Americans dead each week? That scenario is totally unacceptable! The elected Iraqi government is incompetent, corrupt, and weak. The American people will only tolerate so much useless American deaths without a plan for victory...this probably explains the mid-term election results as much as anything. As much as I loathe the sniveling, liberals in this country, we may end up putting up with some sort of embarassing scheduled pull-out like they suggest, that is if we're not going back in full force and obliterate the insurgency, with the understanding and acceptance of millions of civilian casualties. Sadly, America just doesn't have the guts for that kind of warfare any more.

I'm afraid there's no palatable way out of Iraq now. Given that, what's the plan?

One friend suggested that we take all the leftover Katrina dingleberries still demanding tax-payer support, and give them Baghdad to rebuild...at least they won't have to worry about flooding. Hey, it's as good a suggestion as any I've heard from Washington.

Thank goodness for Marines

My friend Frank e-mailed this to me this morning. You just know media liberals hate when this happens...

Katie Couric, while interviewing a Marine sniper, asked: "What do you feel when you shoot a terrorist?"
The Marine shrugged and replied: "Recoil."

(Hard to fault a Marine that eloquent)

Semper Fi!

Saddam will do the air dance

Looks like Saddam Hussein will be dancing at the end of a rope soon. He was sentenced on Sunday for like 100,000 counts of crimes against humanity. The funny part was hearing Democrats histerically whining about George Bush arranging the verdict to coincide with the mid-term elections. I don't know why that surprises me though, they blamed Bush for high gas prices, Katrina, and the ocean currents. Undecided voters will not make up their minds based on Saddam's guilty verdict -- who didn't know he would be found guilty?

EXCELLENT!!!

With 40 flippant words, the Poodle not only angered and embarassed his Dem collegues, energized the Republican voting base, and drew attention away from a struggeling Republican encumbancy in the House, he also managed to insult and alienate the 140,000 troops in Iraq who volunteered to serve their country out of patriotism, ironically, much like he did.
