Rush....get well soon!

Rush was taking a golf vacation in Hawaii and experienced severe chest pains after which, he spent the night in the hospital. He was in serious condition but is reported to be resting comfortably now. I wonder if the golf-course starter put him and Barack Obama in the same foursome...that would explain the chest pain. Then again, Rush may have been faking I mean, who wouldn't fake a heart attack if you had to watch this golf swing for a whole round?

Can somebody please explain to me how this is consistent with the American way of capitalism and self-determination in the market place?

NEW YORK - The government on Wednesday provided a fresh $3.8 billion cash infusion to stabilize GMAC Financial Services as the financing company struggles with hefty losses in its home mortgage unit.

The Treasury Department said the new aid, which comes from a taxpayer-financed bailout fund, is less than the roughly $6 billion the government had earlier thought GMAC would need to stabilize the company.

The fresh infusion is on top of $12.5 billion in taxpayer money Detroit-based GMAC has already received from the government. The new agreement will boost the federal government's ownership in GMAC to 56 percent, from 35 percent.

Without the threat of failure, where is the incentive for companies to employ efficient and wise business practices? Obama says he doesn't want to be in the financing and mortgage business yet, the federal government now owns a majority share of GMAC thanks to tax-cheat boy-wonder, Timmy Geithner, as directed by the man-child President.

Is there any slice of the American economy this administration doesn't want to control? Heaven help us!

The hardly memorable, second-rate singer, Tori Amos has announced that she's smarter than Sarah Palin....

She says, "If Palin runs again, I'm going to run on a Republican ticket. What I know about Middle Eastern policy could fit on a thumbnail, but I still know more than she does."

Then she dropped this bit of hilarity......

"You have to ask, how could a nation nearly vote in somebody who isn't qualified for the job?"

Uh, nobody is less qualified for his job than the organizer in chief, Barack Obama. You could make me an astronaut tomorrow and Obama would still be less qualified for his job than me. Every time these dumb quasi-celebrities experience a dip in their record sales or popularity with fans, they jump into politics to give themselves some relevance. Hint to Tori.....you just look stupid. Make a decent album that people want to listen to for a change and leave the politics and decision-making to the grown-ups.

Profile the Muslims!!!

On one of the busiest flying weekends of the year, our myopic, politically correct government decided to further inconvenience domestic air travellers with excessive security checks, because a crazed Muslim, aged 18-25, tried to blow up an airplane full of people over Detroit, after departing from Amsterdam. Of course Holland is perhaps the most tolerant, Muslim-friendly country in all the western world. It is literally being colonized by hostile Muslims and the Dutch continue to bend over backwards to accommodate them regardless of how hostile they are toward their hosts.

When is America going to pull it's head out and start profiling Muslims who're coming into the country? I'll wager that even if this attempt had been successful and there had been bodies strewn from Saginaw to Kalamazoo that day, our government would have insisted that we not judge Islam nor give in to the temptation to unfairly single Muslim travellers out for scrutiny. They'd say that our diversity is our strength and that profiling is equal to religious persecution.

What a load of crap!

The only group on Earth who are hell-bent on killing Americans are Muslims. Every other country in the world is laughing at our stupidity. Sure, one or two might get through despite our efforts but, it won't be because we invited it with blinding political correctness.

Profiling all crazed Muslims, aged 18-25, who are immigrating or visiting America would stop most of these incidents.

"Sports Reporters" features too much agenda and too little sports reporting

I was watching the Sports Reporters this morning on ESPN and the topic was Urban Meyer's unexpected departure from Florida and, his citation of health reasons. William C. Rhodan(pic) made the outrageous argument that the NCAA or the federal government should legislate that like players, coaches should be limited to how much time they spend at their jobs because of the adverse health effects that come from the stress of big-time college football. What an idiot!

Coaches are employees, not student/athletes. If Urban Meyer wants to work himself to death, that's his business, the same as it is Rhoden's if he works himself too hard.
Would Rhoden be OK with the government dictating how much time he gets each week to write his columns? For guys like Rhoden, government interference in other peoples' lives is OK as long as it stays out of his life.

The next moronic thing he said was that any NCAA school that fails to interview at least one minority to fill a head-coaching position vacancy, should be penalized 5 scholarships. I wonder if he's for the same quota system on the field as off of it? Blacks only make up 12% of the population yet, black student/athletes dominate football and basketball at the college and professional levels. I don't hear him complaining about that disparity. I guess affirmative action and quotas are only good if they unfairly benefit black kids and coaches and punish white ones.

Every time I watch that show, I'm reminded of why I don't watch it.

ROMULUS, Mich. (AP) - An attempted terrorist attack on a Christmas Day flight began with a pop and a puff of smoke - sending passengers scrambling to subdue a Nigerian man who claimed to be acting on orders from al-Qaida to blow up the airliner, officials and travelers said.

The commotion began as Northwest Airlines Flight 253, carrying 278 passengers and 11 crew members from Amsterdam, prepared to land in Detroit just before noon Friday. Travelers said they smelled smoke, saw a glow, and heard what sounded like firecrackers. At least one person climbed over others and jumped on the man, who officials say was trying to ignite an explosive device.

Of course you have to scour the interwebs to find mention of this douchebag's name. It is Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab. We'll be lectured to again by the media about jumping to unfair conclusions about Muslims, and douche's like Chris Matthews will whine about what a tragedy it'll be if our diversity is sacrificed because of one bad Muslim apple. How many domestic attacks by Muslims will it take for Americans to finally say enough and start profiling these people? And thank goodness for the brave passenger(s) who subdued this guy. I hope they kicked his ass a little while they had him pinned, maybe ruptured a kidney, lacerated his spleen or, detached a lung.....something.

Nutty environmentalists want to control everything

I hope everybody had a merry Christmas and contributed greatly to their personal carbon footprints through excessive fire-place burning and the conspicuous consumption for which we Americans are infamous. That said, as unhappy as eco-kooks probably are with our waste, it seems they're upset at our music also....

AUSSIE rockers AC/DC could have to cancel a sold-out concert because their big sound poses a danger to rare birds.

Animal rights campaigners are threatening legal action if the veteran band goes ahead with a gig planned for Wels airport in Austria in May.

Hans Uhl of BirdLife said birds nesting in the area at the time would be threatened by anthems such as Highway To Hell and You Shook Me All Night Long.

"The second biggest colony of curlews in Upper Austria and various other ground-nesting birds must not become endangered," Mr Uhl said.

They're just a bunch of uptight busybodies who resent lots of people having a good time doing something, anything, that can't be considered "communing with nature". That's the problem with liberals, as long as you're engaging in activities approved by them it's OK but, don't dare exercise your freedom to enjoy life by listening to music of which they don't approve.

Taxes on upper-income Americans are well above the revenue-maximizing rate. Thus, for those in the political class to further increase the size of government and government debt as a percentage of GDP is grossly irresponsible. It is almost as if they had a death wish for the country.

It's hard to make sense of what Chairman Zero, Pelosi and Reid are cramming down our throats unless it's that they really do want to destroy what America is, perniciously and intentionally morphing it into some grotesque amalgam of a soviet-style nanny state and a second-rate, dying democracy like the old European countries.
