“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

what a shame!

Today Jan Ullrich, one of the most famous cyclists in the world, announced his retirememt from professional cycling. He won the '97 Tour de France and never finished lower than 4th in like 10 years of competing. Clearly, but for Lance Armstrong, Jan Ullrich would have probably won most of the races that Lance won(he finished second to Lance 5 times).

For me Jan was the perfect villian to Lance's hero. Lance's dramatic mountain victories in the Tour would not have been nearly as great had Jan not been there pushing him year in and year out.

I'll be sad not watching Jan Ullrich compete in this year's Tour. Lance and Jan Ullrich were my two favorite riders and sadly, there are no larger-than-life personalities in cycling right now. Maybe somebody will step up and there will be a new rivalry to capture our facinations.

Here's all the proof I need

All right all you miserable, Earth-worshipping druids out there who think man's activity is destroying the world...take a look at this easy-to-read graph and then try again to convince me that man has anything at all to do with climate change...

I manage a research lab so I'm comfortable reading and interpreting graphs. This one is about as simple to understand as they come, but for those who were "educated" in government schools, I'll tell you what it very clearly shows...

The three lines refer to sunspot activity, CO2 concentration and global temperature--all over time. Look at the green CO2 line relative to the blue temperature line. They have absolutely nothing to do with each other. In scientifc terms--they are associated. [an association does not imply cause and effect. Chinese people have slanted eyes and Chinese people eat lots of rice. This does not imply that rice consumption causes slanted eyes]

Now take a look at the red sunspot line relative to the blue global temp. line. Why, it's almost as if they are the same line.

I'm shocked, shocked to report that global climate change is closely related to sunspot activity and entirely unrelated to man's CO2 emissions.

There, I think we've pretty much dispelled the man-made global warming myth here at TRR.

Stop the madness!

The self-important and incompetent collection of international thugs and dictators known as the U.N. revealed their plan to control the weather this week...

A group of 18 scientists from 11 countries is calling on the international community to act quickly to prevent catastrophic climate change.

Panel member John Holdren of Harvard University says the world must be mobilized immediately to avoid catastrophe. "Climate change is real, it's already happening, it's already causing harm, it's accelerating and we need to do something about it, and we need to do something about it seriously, starting now. Our specific conclusions are that if the world were to go past the point of an increase above pre-industrial temperatures greater than 2 to 2.5 degrees Celsius, we would be in a regime where the danger of intolerable and unmanageable impacts on well-being would rise very rapidly," he said.

Holdren, however, says even these measure will achieve very little unless they are accompanied by a global tax on greenhouse gas emissions. "We don't think ultimately society will get it right in terms of the full range and scope of activities needed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, until there is an additional incentive in the form of a price on greenhouse gas emissions, either through a carbon tax or a cap and trade approach," he said.

Yep, you read that correctly. The U.S. taxpayers already bankroll the zany adventures of the U.N. Now, they want to grab even more of our wealth in the form of an emissions tax on CO2. Wake up people....everything the U.N. does is an attempt to grab more and more of the U.S.'s wealth. If Bush goes along with this nightmare of an idea, it'll destroy this country's competitiveness and economic dominance. If Hillary gets elected, she'll definitely go along with it.

The druidical cult of environmentalism has gone so far off the deep end, I can't even find words to adequately ridicule it.

Optical illusions

I always loved this kind of stuff. Click on the picture to enlarge it and get the full effect.

Click to enlarge this picture and watch the rippling wave effect. Kinda cool in a nauseating kind of way. I just stared at it up close for like two minutes right before I posted this and I think I'm gonna hurl.

The great hoax of our time....man-made global warming

If you want to see for yourself how delusional and loony the global warming crazies are, go on over to Conservation International and calculate your personal contribution to global warming using their handy dandy Personal Carbon Calculator.

I took the test which requires about 2 minutes and supposedly I'm responsible for emitting 1.91 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each year--heh, heh. Predictably, it immediately asked for money.

It told me that I owed $191 dollars in order to purchase some stupid thing called "carbon offsets" in order to make myself carbon neutral.

The entire web site seems designed to make ordinary Americans feel guilty for being alive and on Earth, and then charge you for it. Liberals always make us feel guilty for living our lives so we won't complain too much when they take our money, ostensibly to pay for our transgressions.

The craven hypocricy of the Left

Al Gore, and the mindless Hollywood democrats who belong to the cult of modern environmentalism, have managed to plumb new depths of sanctimony and fraud as they preach to ordinary Americans about sacrifice...

Gore’s mansion, [20-room, eight-bathroom] located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

And this isn't Al and Tipper's only house. They also have a mansion in D.C. and a huge residence somewhere in California. Look, Al Gore is rich beyond belief and he has the right to spend as much as he wants on energy consumption(and from the looks of Prince Al, hamburger consumption too)---good for him. But every other American has the same right.

That Hollywood liberals live in the biggest, most wasteful houses on Earth, fly around daily on private jets, and own dozens of gas-guzzling SUV's, while lecturing us ordinary Americans about how we should sacrifice in our every-day lives, is nauseatingly two-faced.

This is liberalism in a nutshell: the rules are for ordinary Americans, but not for the enlightened class. My loathing of liberalism is like Al Gore's depraved hypocricy...it is virtually limitless.

A natural fit

This seems about right...

Pop superstar Michael Jackson has confirmed his conversion to Islam, according to reports in the Middle East.

The Arab-Israeli newspaper Panorama claims Jackson has announced the move and revealed plans to move to Bahrain, where he has bought property.

The singer's Muslim brother Jermaine yesterday claimed the Thriller hitmaker had taken interest in the religion since he converted in 1989 - and had been considering converting himself following his acquittal on child abuse charges in 2005.

The pasty perv's conversion to the religion of peace presents an interesting conundrum: as soon as he's an official Muslim, won't he be compelled under Islamic law, to cut his own head off for being a homosexual?

Islamabad - Two women in Pakistan have been hacked to death by close relatives who suspected them of flirting with neighbours, in a so-called honour killing, police said on Saturday.

Farida, 18, and Hameeda, 20, were asleep when the men attacked them with axes, smashing their heads, in a village in southern Sindh province on Thursday morning, police officer Ghulam Nabi said.

"The girls were asleep in their home when their four uncles attacked them," Nabi told AFP.

"They suspected the victims had bad character and were flirting with men in the village," Nabi said, adding that two of the attackers had been arrested and police were searching for the other two.

The suspects told police the victims, who were not married, were kari (black women) - a term coined for women branded as morally corrupt and liable to be killed in the name of family honour.

Officials say nearly 5 000 people, mostly women, have been killed in rural areas of Pakistan over the past five years in the name of protecting family honour.

Boy that's some great religion that Islam!

Good fences make good neighbors

File this story under "the mother of all ironies"...

Mexico's Congress has condemned what it says is a border violation by US workers building a controversial barrier between the two countries.

Legislators say workers and equipment building a section of the barrier have gone 10 metres (yards) into Mexico.

When Mexico starts respecting our border they can complain about our not respecting theirs....idiots...insufferable idiots!
