“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

It's come to this

This week marks the beginning of the near Constitutional crisis regarding the commerce clause in Article I and the principle of federalism described in the 10th Amendment. Law suits have been filed on behalf of many states including Virginia, Michigan, and Florida among others, by their respective attorneys general challenging the Obama administration's unprecedented power grab via the ominous health care bill.

For those of you who were baby sat in government schools while having your self esteem stroked, and therefor have no ability to think critically nor a working knowledge or understanding of the US Constitution, the 10th Amendment reads simply,

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

This is the essential part of the Constitution that limits the federal government from infringing on the states' rights of self governance in all things other than what's in the Constitution specifically. Without this, there is no limit at all to what the federal government can regulate and control. That's what at stake with this health-care monstrosity. If the courts allow the federal government to force, under threat of punishment, the purchase by private citizens of health care policies, then it can force us to do literally anything it fantasizes is in our best interest. And it will have set a dangerous precedent by centralizing power in Washington, having taken it away from the states.

Additionally, it mandates changes in medicare that will increase dramatically the cost to the states, hundreds of millions each, without the states' permission or agreement. The federal government by threat of force, is dictating to the states, commerce policy that is constitutionally reserved for the states to determine independently.

If you don't see the cliffs edge on which we are poised to fall and the danger to the republic if this health-care bill is allowed to stand, then you are either a dumb Obama voter with your hand out, or a hard-core, America-hating socialist who has nothing but contempt for the Constitution. Either way, that makes you a bad American and you should be ashamed.

Idiot democrats disappointed to find that Obama-care isn't what it was promised to be

Dumb, confused, democrat voters with their hands permanently out are wondering where their free Obama-care is.....

WASHINGTON — Two weeks after President Barack Obama signed the big health care overhaul into law, Americans are struggling to understand how — and when — the sweeping measure will affect them.

Questions reflecting confusion have flooded insurance companies, doctors' offices, human resources departments and business groups.

"They're saying, 'Where do we get the free Obama care, and how do I sign up for that?'

See, when you have a generation of government-educated cretins who've been taught that they deserve to be given everything, their support is easy to manipulate with the promise of still more free stuff that was earned by, and then taken from, better people than them.

George Will schools Lilliputian tool Robert Reich

Over the weekend, George Will debated the diminutive weasel Robert Reich about health care. As you might have guessed already, Will filleted his arguments, exposing liberalism for it's true elitist essence at the end of the clip.....

More conservatives should openly point the accusing finger of shame at liberals whenever they presume, as they always do, that all Americans except them, are far too stupid to make decisions for themselves on any level.

GOP walking into Obama's trap

Having already won the health-care debate and wisely defeated Obama-care, republicans are entering the lair of the enemy by attending a white house publicity stunt thinly veiled as a bipartisan health-care summit....what are they thinking?

President Obama is working on health care legislation intended to reconcile differences between House and Senate Democrats that could be attached to a budget bill and avoid a Republican filibuster, according to a published report.

The president's proposal, which is still being written, will be posted on the Internet by Monday morning, senior administration officials and Congressional aides told the New York Times.

By piggybacking the legislation onto a budget bill, Democrats would be able to advance the bill with a simple majority of just 51 votes, averting a Republican filibuster in the Senate.

The republicans should be on the offensive with health-care by proposing their own fixes for the system, rather than allowing Obama, Emanuel, and Axelrod to frame the debate on their home turf and label the GOP as the party of "NO". Besides, if Obama is rewriting a bill of reconciliation between the House and Senate democrat bills, why pretend to include the republicans with this ridiculous summit?

This move by the republicans is like after having beaten up the playground bully, you go back and giving him another shot at you. If there's anything to be gained by republicans participating in this stunt, somebody please tell me what it is.

You watch, Obama will be backlit to appear regal and benevolent while the dunce republicans will be in uncomfortable chairs and top lit to appear sinister and underhanded. They are delivering to Obama, a media slam-dunk on a silver platter. Dunces...I swear!

When the going gets tough, the ruling hypocrits go to America

It seems one of Canada's premiers, Danny Williams, a huge proponent of that country's single-payer health care system, opted out of that very program when his own health faltered. Instead of languishing for months like his fellow Canadians, waiting to see a heart surgeon, he jetted down to America for immediate heart surgery.

You see, the effete, ruling elites in Canada, who dictate to regular Canadians what kind of horrible, government care they must suffer under, flee to the country with the greatest health care system in all the world for their personal care....the US. Our ruling class here in the US is no different. Do you naively believe that any high-ranking member of congress or government in general, will toil under a single-payer system....I mean if they ever succeed in saddling us with one....like the rest of us?

No, congress, the executive branch, and I suspect the judiciary all enjoy access to exemplary private health care paid for by the taxpayers. How they can exempt themselves and their families from the very disastrous, third-world health care system they're trying to impose on us little people, and do it with a straight face is any body's guess.

If this isn't proof of how abysmally awful single-payer health care is, I don't know what is.

Ben Nelson succumbs to a bribe

Just like Mary Landreau before him, Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska caved in to Harry Reid thanks to a multi-billion dollar bribe. This deal essentially puts all American tax-payers unfairly on the hook for extended federal-funding of medicair and medicaid in Nebraska....for a couple of years....then Nebraskans gets screwed over just like the rest of us. He was holding out because of nebulous language regarding federal funding of abortion but in the end, his craven political ambition won out over his principles.

What a treacherous, smarmy lot these democrats are!

insurance costs in the free market

This morning on Fox and Friends, John Stossel brought up a good point about our consumption of health-care and the cost of providing it through a third party. He rightly observed that if we had grocery insurance, we'd all be buying steaks every night, $50 bottles of wine and, tiramisu for dessert, because somebody else would be paying for it all. The same goes for basic health-care. We expect somebody else to pay for the most basic care and as a result, we consume it as if it were free. If we had to pay for routine checkups and procedures out of our pockets, we would consume far less of it and the price of it would go down. That's how the free market works.

Obama's plan of going to single-payer(the federal government) would only make the problem exponentially worse.

We need insurance only for catastrophes like car wrecks, cancer and, heart attacks, etc. We should budget for our routine health-care out of our pockets the same as we budget for gas, food, clothing, entertainment, etc. But this health-care take over isn't about providing everybody with affordable health-care. There are far better and cheaper ways to do that. Just like with all of Obama's policy initiatives, it's about expanding the scope and reach of the federal government into and over the lives of individuals.

Stossel on socialized health-care

John Stossel has an excellent article over at TownHall via John Hawkins' site, Linkiest, in which he points out the absurdity of Nancy Pelosi's health-care bill that narrowly passed the House earlier this week.

It all comes down to the freedom of self-determination by the individual versus centrally-planned control by a committee of self-appointed, skeevy bureaucrats. Definitely a must read!

Bah, humbug!!!

The loathsome Nancy Pelosi yesterday said that she wanted passage of the disastrous healthcare bill to be a Christmas present to the American people. That's like taking money from the cash-box under grandma's bed, buying an HD TV and, giving it to her for Christmas. No thanks! If they also pass cap-and-trade like they're promising, I'd rather get a bundle of switches and a lump of coal for Christmas. At least when my power gets turned off 'cause I can't pay the bill, I can burn it for warmth.

I think Nancy got her holidays mixed up. Passage of Obamacare should be an April Fool's present for all dumb Americans who favor it.

Obama sells health-care with Kabuki theater production

The administration of chairman zero descends into sheer idiocy as it becomes more desperate to sell health-care to the American people....who aren't buying by the way.....

A crowd of 150 doctors gathers in the Rose Garden to support the health-care overhaul -- as White House staffers scramble to hand out camera-ready white coats to those who forgot their own.

Rahm Emanual dredged up 150 doctors who evidently want to trade in their stethoscopes to become gov't health-care bureaucrats...otherwise why would any doctor be in favor of gov't-run health-care? Then Obama dresses them in lab coats for the visual effect on TV, aimed at convincing an increasingly skeptical public that his seizure of the health-care industry is a good idea...."See, these doctors standing behind me in lab coats like it so, you should too."

Obama and his primrose path

The one consistent theme to Obama is that his actions are generally polar opposite of what he says. "We don't want to own car companies"---yet they own two car companies. "We don't want to own or operate banks"---yet they own and operate many banks. "We don't want to own mortgage companies"---yet they own the two largest mortgage companies now. "We believe in the power of free enterprise and the market"---yet every move they make is designed specifically to thwart the market and skirt the Constitution.

RNC Chair Michael Steele hit on this topic in an article today in Politico. Here's the gist of it as you get ready for Obama's address tonight....

After a masterfully conducted campaign last year, a campaign that redefined the artistry of marketing a candidate, this president has now finally found the limit of the power of marketing. As Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who is one of the nation’s leading health care policy experts, said a few weeks back, “I don’t disagree with the things the president says on health care, I just find no correlation between his rhetoric and his actions.” There you have it.

Obama will tell us tonight that if we like our private insurance, we can keep it. He'll tell us that he won't cut health care for seniors. He'll tell us that there are 47million uninsured. He'll tell us that he won't raise taxes on anybody but the rich to pay for it all. He'll tell us that the "public option" is the only way to provide for the chronically uninsured. All these statements will be lies! The bills that are circulating around the house right now do exactly every one of these things.

Don't be fooled by Obama's compassionate delivery and glycerin tongue. Make no mistake, he wants single-payer health care for America, just like Canada and Great Britain are suffering under. Keep that thought in your mind as you watch him glide into the House chamber tonight like a cool breeze and basque in all the ridiculous applause interruptions. No matter what he says tonight or how wonderful and ideal it sounds, it's not, NOT what's going to happen....it never is.

Go here and read the article.

Don't believe the hype from the democrats or the media

You know the 47million, being the number of uninsured Americans, Obama keeps scaring everybody with? Well, just as I suspected, as with everything else the democrats try to sneak by us, it's a gross exaggeration. Over at Linkiest, John has a link to a Hotair post in which the break-down of the real number is shown. Predictably, if Obamacare passes, we'll be paying for the health-care insurance of the 12million illegals plus 15-20million people who make far above the average income of Americans and who should be buying their own coverage but, choose not to.

It turns out that there might be 14million who genuinely cannot afford health insurance but who for whatever reason fail to qualify for Medicaid, Medicare, or Tricare.

Democrats....the very embodiment of hypocrisy

Over at Linkiest.com, formerly ConservativeGrapevine, John Hawkins has a link to Melissa Clouthier's site, where she points out the preposterousness of democrats accusing Obama-care protesters of astro-turfing, when it's the democrats who're paying union thugs, out-of-work hippies, and aliens to pretend to be voices in favor of Obama-care. She has scores of Craig's List entries in which democrat operatives solicit pro-Obama "protesters" at rates of $7-$10/hour. I defy you to find one anti-Obama-care protester who is being paid, much less organized in any way, to protest dreadful socialized health-care! I defy you!

Look at the signs above...they're all mass produced by professionals....they're all identical for heaven's sake. When's the last time you saw conservatives carrying protest signs they didn't make themselves at home? The hypocrisy of democrats accusing conservatives of astro-turfery, when it's is they who have organized and staged phony support for Obama's catastrophe of a health-care plan, is mind-boggling!

Obama's fundamentally changing America.....for the worse

If there are any idiots reading this who still think that Obama's nationalized health care system might not be such a bad thing, then watch this clip of the UK's Daniel Hannan, of whom we at TRR are huge fans, describe to Glenn Beck what health care is like in Great Britain. Especially scary is what he says in the last minute of this 7-minute clip....

Once the national health care bureaucracy becomes an entrenched part of our federal government, there will be no reversing it. It won't be like the next administration or congress will be able to throw it out and go back to the way it was. This change will be permanent and catastrophic! If you do nothing else during the month of August, contact your representatives and promise to fight against them in the next election if they dare saddle America with this idiocy.
