“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

The Religion of Peace

For you nutty leftists out there who think Islam is simply an ideology different from ours, not better or worse, just different, read this account and then tell me with a straight face that Muslims can be reasoned with by non-Muslims...

RIYADH - A Saudi woman who was kidnapped at knifepoint, gang-raped and then beaten by her brother has been sentenced to 90 lashes -- for meeting a man who was not a relative, a newspaper reported on Monday.

In an interview with the Saudi Gazette, the 19-year-old said she was blackmailed a year ago into meeting a man who threatened to tell her family they were having a relationship outside wedlock, which is illegal in the ultra-conservative desert kingdom.

After driving off together from a shopping mall near her home, the woman and the man were stopped and abducted by a gang of men wielding kitchen knives who took them to a farm where she was raped 14 times by her captors.

Five men were arrested for the rape and given jail terms ranging from 10 months to five years by a panel of judges in the eastern city of Qatif, near the woman’s hometown.

But the judges also decided to sentence the woman, identified by the newspaper only as ‘G,’ and the man to lashes for being alone together in the car.

Unrelated men and women are forbidden from interacting in public in Saudi Arabia, which strictly enforces Islamic Sharia law.

She only got gang-raped followed by 90 lashes? Allah is truly a benevolent and merciful God.

We hear about honor killings, rapes, and stonings of disobedient women at the hands of radical Muslim men on a regular basis, yet America's feminists and democrats remain tellingly silent. Their silence proves that their hatred of the subjugation of women by Islam is exceeded by their hatred of George Bush. They won't stand up against the virtual enslavement of women by Islam because it would mean coming too close to siding with Bush.

Gutless, pathetic liberals...I swear!

Gloria Steinem should be ashamed

What's an obedient follower of the great and benevolent Muhammad and the religion of peace to do when provoked by a harlot who refuses to cover herself?

A Pakistani minister and woman’s activist has been shot dead by an Islamic extremist for refusing to wear the veil.

Zilla Huma Usman, the minister for social welfare in Punjab province and an ally of President Pervez Musharraf, was killed as she was about to deliver a speech to dozens of party activists, by a “fanatic”, who believed that she was dressed inappropriately and that women should not be involved in politics, officials said.

I'd like to know where the gals over at N.O.W. stand on this. They showed their depravity when they stood silently by Bill Clinton as professional women just like them were personally smeared by James Carville for complaining that Bill had raped them. Here we have a successful Muslim woman fighting desperately for women's rights in Pakistan, in exactly the same way as the gals in N.O.W. like to think they did, and she gets murdered for expressing a political opinion and not dressing properly. I wonder if Gloria Steinem would have been so outspoken if the penalty had been certain death...somehow I doubt it.

Are the pathetic, craven bitties over at N.O.W. so politically entrenched with Democrats' love of all things Islamic, that they won't even stand up for one of their own when the religion of peace victimizes her?

Gender politics

Perky news reader Katie Couric took time out from destroying what's left of the CBS news organization to complain that women aren't given more cushy positions in politics and corporate America...

"The feminist movement that began in the 1970’s helped women make tremendous strides—but there still haven’t been enough great leaps for womankind. Fifty-one percent of America is female, but women make up only about sixteen percent of Congress—which, as the Washington Monthly recently pointed out, is better than it’s ever been...but still not as good as parliaments in Rwanda (forty-nine percent women) or Sweden (forty-seven percent women). Only nine Fortune 500 companies have women as CEO’s.

That meeting was a reality check for me—and not just about Iraq. It was a reminder that all of us still have an obligation to ask: Don’t more women deserve a place at the table too?"

Katie probably has no idea how far statements like that retard the advancement of women in the market place. Is she seriously suggesting that women should be elected, or promoted to CEO just because we need more women in places of leadership? Evidently, since she mentioned that women comprise 51% of the population, a gender quota should be applied to Congress and all Fortune 500 companies. Should there also be a race quota? How about a handicapped quota? Gays are probably underrepresented in corporate leadership positions...how about a sexual orientation quota? (Representative Barney Frank is so flamboyantly gay that Congress doesn't need any more gays to meet Katie's quota)

Katie seems to think that positions of power and influence should be doled out based on perceived fairness, rather than earned based on hard work, ability, and objectively proven results.

How insulted would Katie be if CBS admitted that they chose her as news anchor because in the interest of fairness they wanted to rectify the problem of the scarcity of women reading the evening news? Katie would swear that she was hired because she earned it as a serious professional journalist with a proven track record in the news industry(an arguable point). Why shouldn't all people be promoted or elected because they earned it and are deserving of it? Preferential treatment because of gender, race, or orientation is blatantly discriminatory. Katie knows better, but as a liberal she can't help regurgitating gender equality dogma.

Katie thinks that women should be given positions they didn't earn. Of course she would be exempt from this because she earned her position.

You've come a long way baby

I'm all for equality for women, but grabbing the buttocks of the opposite sex is a personal affrontery that should remain strictly in the domain of construction workers, lounge lizards, and Senators from Massacheusetts...

A woman was charged Wednesday with sexual assault after an altercation with a flight attendant on an airplane flying from Charlotte, N.C., to London, an official said.
Conan Bruce, a spokesman for the Federal Air Marshal Service in Washington, said the woman got into an argument with a male flight attendant aboard US Airways Flight 1494.
"During the altercation, she grabbed his buttocks," Bruce said.
When the airplane landed at Gatwick Airport, Sussex police charged the woman with disrupting a flight and sexual assault, Bruce said.

What's the world coming to? There are certain gender-specific, societal roles that should be respected. Women should not included themselves in literally every facet of the male world just to prove that they can. Allow me to offer a couple of helpful examples: barber shops and athletic supporters...

There are no apron-strings in the barber shop. Women should stay out of barber shops unless employed there. If your son is too young to tell the barber what he wants, take him to SuperCuts. Do not hang around instructing the barber on how to cut your son's or husband's hair. The looks of pity on the other men's faces are unbearable. Women often wonder why it's so quiet in barber shops when there are like 10 guys in there...they stopped talking the second you walked in.

A woman should refrain from assisting the sporting-goods store employee to pick out her son's athletic supporter. If the boy is old enough to wear one, he's old enough to ask for help buying one. Just go browse the women's jogging outfits close by until he's finished.

Asking a guy out is fine. Offering to pay for dinner is fine. Playing sports is great. But leave a few traditional male practices to the men...grabbing rear ends is one of them.
