The Israel/Palestine question of land rights

Click on the image to enlarge

This is a map of the lands occupied by the divided Israeli state(Kingdoms of Israel and Judah), the Palestinians(Philistines), and other tribes around 830BC. Israel was more or less where it is now and the Palestinians were more or less in what is modern Gaza. So where's the hysteria and indignance over Israel "stealing land" and expatriating poor, put-upon Palestinians coming from?

Answer: sheer, unadulterated hatred of Jews, plain and simple.

  1. I've been to Jerash (on your map), in what is now Jordan. It was awe inspiring to walk on streets that people have used for 3,000 years.

  2. Now tell your readers that God divorced Israel, Ed.

I gave faithless Israel her certificate of divorce and SENT HER AWAY because of all her adulteries. (Jer. 3:8 NIV)

  3. So let me get this straight....as I understand your point, because Israel no longer has the blessing of God, they have no right to the land they have always occupied, except for the time of the diaspora?

That's stretch Glen, even for you.

  4. @Ed "...the land they have always occupied...."

Were it were true that the Israelis have always occupied the land, it would not have been necessary for the them to spend the last almost 63 years raping and killing some Palestinians and driving the rest away in order to take their place in PALESTINE.

Before 1948, Jews and Arabs lived side by side in PALESTINE. If a Jewish person wanted a house or farm or a plot of ground, he found a willing buyer, agreed on a price, and paid for it.

Starting in April of 1948, they stopped paying and started stealing.

You seem to admire that. I don't.

  5. Raping? I don't think so. You seem to have forgotten the decades of Palestinian terrorists(or Hamas terrorists operating on behalf of the Palestinians) bombing bus-loads of Israeli women and children.

Palestinians are welcomed to live in Israel of they want. There they enjoy a decent standard of living, voting rights, and every other human right enjoyed by Jews. Would Jews in any Arab or Muslim country enjoy the same rights? I doubt it. The middle east agenda is to use the Palestinian "issue" as a flog with which to intimidate the Jews by garnering world sympathy for the plight of the put-upon Palestinians. Without the phoney perpetuation of the Palestinian state, Jew-haters around the world would have nothing to focus your anti-semitism on.

  6. Ed, before you post any more on the subject of Palestine, please educate yourself on the subject, won't you? It is embarrassing to see you make factual error after factual error.

If you are interested in being factually correct, here is a good place to start.

  7. Glen, if I remember you have me by maybe 20 years, so I defer to your historical knowledge. That said, we're debating the righteousness of Isreal's self-defense, the unwarrented aggression of the Palestinians and their agents toward Israeli civilians, and whether it has a right to the land it currently occupies. I say it does. Hell, I say it has a right to even more land because it won it during wars. That's the right of the victor, I mean if we're talking history here.

  8. Ed, regarding historical knowledge, GIGO.

  9. Nobama, are you talking about Glen's historical knowledge or mine? I only know what I can research from various sites on the Web. Maybe Glen has some insight that I do not. But that doesn't change the fact that I support Israel's right to exist and vigorously defend herself, even pre-emptively, from agression. I'm not sure Glen agrees with that.

  10. From what little I know about correspondent "Glen" in reading the posts here, I think he is the GIGO poster child of all time. Citing obscure lunatic sources of wacko positions is a sign of it.

  12. Who (if anybody) can tell us one of the several reasons why Ed is wrong when he says that, except for the Diaspora, Israel has always occupied Palestine?

(Not you, Nobama and Nobamama. You have disqualified yourselves by putting your imprimatur on Ed's gross factual errors.)

    P.S. Yes, GIGO = Glen & Glen = GIGO.

net. You certainly realize how to bring an issue to
light and make it important. More and more people really need to look at this
