166,000 adults in 20 countries were tested in basic problem solving skills such as tip calculation, e-mail sorting, and car mileage. The dumb US adult population scored dismally compared to other first-world countries.
I would have predicted this very outcome 100 times out of 100. What else would you expect from a population, many of whom regard the government paternally, is obsessed with stupid celebrities, and elected not once but twice, an utterly unaccomplished community organizer as President?
Of course, the world knew we were a nation of drooling, mouth-breathing idiots even before we were tested.
